Yesterday In Math
Teacher: Brother Don and Sister Ruthie, I need to see you two for a sec.
Don and Me: *walks up to her desk*
Don: Yeah?
Teacher: You were both absent when I handed these out. I just need to give you both these. *gives Don his printed grade* *hands me mine*
Me: Oh and before I forget, I know I just came back and all, but I'm not gonna be here on Friday.
Don: *looks at me* Where are you going?
Teacher: Yeah.
Me: My choir is taking a trip to a tenure meeting with my conductor and we are her presentation.
Teacher: Okay.
Don: Wait a minute, fast question: are you friends with anyone close to the director?
Me: I'm friends with the *insert her title*'s son. Why?
Don: What days are practice?
Me: Well for you, it'd be Tuesdays and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30.
Don: Are open rehearsals done?
Me: I dunno.
Don: Can you ask him if I can come next Tuesday? I'm thinking of joining.
Me: .... *looks at Teacher* Sorry Mrs. *. *rips off beanie and slaps Don in the arm with it*
Don: Ow!! What?!
Me: I asked you three weeks ago if you wanted to join, but oh no! You told me off, saying that the school choir is far better than that choir, and that you wouldn't want to be caught dead in that choir!!
Don: I got kicked out.
Me: What?
Don: That new conductor's expectations were set way too high and 80% of the choir got kicked.
Me: Oh...
Don: Yeah, so I need something to do.
Me: Alright. *texts Con*
Con: *replies*
Me: He said yes.
Don: Sweet!
Teacher: *clears her throat* Well thank you for starting, and resolving, a problem in front of my desk. *fans us away* Go...do your work.
