This happened early in the morning.

My parents: watching the weather channel*
Me: *watching YouTube*
Friend: *(for the first time, and at like 1:45 am) FaceTimes me*
Me: *picks up* Hey!
Friend: *laying in bed with a unamused look* Hey. Um yeeaah, wegotaproblem.
Me: *walks into a different room* What is it?
Friend: So as you've known about, we've been getting double to triple digit degree weather and some rain, and like it always has, those two together have always caused heat-induced power outages at the school.
Me: Mhm.
Friend: Well, I just got this email saying how this weather is gonna get worse, and by the time Homecoming comes around, the heat may cause 24 hour outages or it may flicker then go out. Then, they finish it with a "For the safety of everyone, we are going to cancel Homecoming and just do a "Fun Lunch" on that ******.".
Me: So Homecoming's cancelled-
Friend: Yup. And all because we have to have Swamp weather!
Me: Great...
Friend: But, what I was thinking is, one of these days you come out here and we just have our own day that we spend at the mall, rain or heat.
Me: Sure, but what day though?
Friend: I don't know. Let's spitball dates and we'll say if we have to do anything.
Me: Um...*date*
Friend: I have school and vocal coaching. By the time that's done, it'll be 7 at night. *date*?
Me: I have dress rehearsal for choir, and the day after that, the choir's singing at a hockey game. *date*?
Friend: I have a private guitar lesson, then I teach Junior Guitar. Maybe after that, cuz it ends at 2?
Me: It takes me a long ass time to get home and I have school the next day, so sorry.
Friend: ...
Me: ...
Friend: MUSIC IS RUINING OUR SOCIAL LIVES!!
Me: Aren't you the only one awake?
Friend: ....Shit.
