4 Steps Closer
"Finally, that test is finished!" Phil groaned, stretching dramatically as Chris chuckled,"Yeah, math sucks." Phil looked offended,"No it does not! It's fun."
PJ's eyes widened,"How is it fun? It's devil spawn!" Dan was laughing, leaning against the locker and Phil admitted he looked beautiful like this.
"Ahh, whatever," Phil rolled his eyes, subtly checking Dan out. He was wearing a twenty one pilots beanie today, with black skinny jeans and black sneakers to match. He had a black long-sleeve shirt with "Panic! At The Disco" on it.
"Is Panic! At The Disco a band?" Phil asked, not having heard of it before. Dan's jaw practically dropped to the floor as Chris sighed,"Here we go."
Dan took in a big breath of air and recited faster than Eminem or Tyler Joseph ever could,"Panic! at the Disco is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 and featuring the current lineup of vocalist Brendon Urie, accompanied on tour by bassist Dallon Weekes, guitarist Kenneth Harris and drummer Dan Pawlovich. Founded by childhood friends Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson and Brendon Urie, Panic! at the Disco recorded its first demos-"
PJ clapped a hand over Dan's mouth as he mouthed,"Shut the fuck up." Dan nodded and when PJ freed him, Dan inhaled.
And continued.
"-while its members were in high school. Shortly after, the band recorded and released its debut studio album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005). Popularized by the lead single, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", the album was certified double platinum in the US. In 2006, founding bassist Brent Wilson was fired from the band during an extensive world tour, and subsequently replaced by Jon Walker.
Influenced by 1960s rock bands the Beatles, the Zombies and the Beach Boys, and preceded by the hit single, "Nine in the Afternoon", the band's second studio album, Pretty. Odd. (2008), marked a significant departure from the sound of the band's debut, and ultimately led to the departure of guitarist and principal songwriter Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker, who favored the band's new direction. The duo subsequently formed a new band, the Young Veins, leaving Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith as the sole remaining members of Panic! at the Disco."
Phil was mildly concerned for Dan's mental health and PJ and Chris wanted death.
"I'm not done," Dan announced and Phil answered in good nature,"I think I get the point. Mind showing me some of their music?"
"Oh fuck yes, this one's Trade Mistakes, here, take my earphone. Left ear."
Phil put the earphone into his ear and Dan pressed play.
Placing a smile at the perfect event,
Gracing your skin with the side of my hand.
If I ever leave I could learn to miss you
But "Sentimental Boy" is my nom de plume
Let me save you, hold this rope
I may never sleep tonight,
As long as you're still burning bright.
If I could trade mistakes for sheep,
Count me away before you sleep.
I'll stay awake 'til I trade my mistakes
Or they fade away
"Holy crap, they're amazing!" Phil exclaimed and Chris asked,"So should I start going to therapy or should I wait for the nightmares to set in?"
