You Don't Always Need an Extravagant Ending
Me: Hey guys. I give you a picture of an adorable Honey sleeping as another apology for not updating for a REALLY long time. It's a GOODBYE gift too, for the storyline is ENDING soon. There is an epilogue coming though, so no worries. ;D
There is going to be a lot of time skips and POV changes, but I think you can all handle it. So, here you go. The FINAL CHAPTER of Pokemon Adventures: One Love.
Enjoy, my Lovelies.
Yellow's Pov
It felt like days. I had no idea if the others were still alive or if they were going through the same thing I was, but all I knew was I wanted to go home. Back to Viridian. Back to the forest I was born in. I was extremely worried about my friends and the girl from earlier. I knew I wouldn't be able to last much longer. In all honesty, it was surprising that I had lasted as long as I did. Several nonstop hours of that.
I knew what they wanted, but I refused to give in. Honestly, it was surprising I was still alive.
Citrine's Pov
Gemma dismissed the grunts as I threw my first pokeball. "Leafeon, go!" Leafeon was my first pokemon. I've had him since he was an egg, not knowing what pokemon he was. I was glad when he hatched as an Eevee. I had always wanted one, and I was always interested in them.
"Umbreon." Gemma threw her pokeball, revealing her first pokemon as well. "Shadow ball."
"Leaf blade." Leafeon cut the ball of energy into pieces, causing it to explode before it could reach him. "Again." The leaves hit Umbreon, knocking her back.
"Umbreon, use psychic." Leafeon stumbled, though he was standing still.
"You'll be okay, bud. Hang in there." I muttered before saying louder, "Use Attract!"
Leafeon did the attack, and Umbreon was just sitting there, staring at Leafeon. She might as well have had cartoon hearts coming out of her eyes.
Gemma was about to attempt to have Umbreon counter attack when her pokegear rang. "Hello." She answered. "Really?!" She sounded genuinely excited, which couldn't have been good with her soul being so dark. "I'll be right there." She said in monotone, which I guess is normal for her now. She turned to me. "Well, brother, I guess our fight will have to wait for later. I have some business to take care of." She said "Brother" with such venom, I almost stopped believing that she was actually the same person. That she wasn't my sister, but someone who was impersonating her.
I began to follow her in the shadows, Leafeon following closely at my side. He never did like being in a pokeball. Neither did the other two. He was only to stay in the pokeball until we found Gemma. Her leaving wasn't planned on.
Black's Pov
Citrine ran off, seemingly forgetting that we were here. "He does that all the time. No worries. He kind of has an attention issue." Jewel told me, playing with the blue tips on a strand of her violet hair.
"So, should we split up to look for the others or something?" I asked, ignoring her statement.
"Or something." She answered like it was obvious. "You'd just get lost again, get caught, then what would that get you? Your execution date moved up to the fifth day of 'A.S.A.P.'? Or maybe it'll be the seventh of 'Instantly'?"
So maybe it was obvious. "Then how are we going to find them?" I asked.
"I worked here, remember?" She asked exasperatedly. "I have the keys! And, I'm also a teenager, so I get curious and explore enclosed spaces. I know almost every shortcut, secret entrance, pathways the other members take, you name it." I gave her a slight smile, appreciating her methods, which she returned with a full-blown smile. "Come on. Your girlfriend is the closest."
"My... What???"
Flare's Pov
It wasn't doing much, and Gem knew that. It hurt like hell, but I wasn't anywhere near giving in. She wanted to break us. Make us join her for real. I could NEVER do that.
The thing that bothered me the most, was that she could be doing the exact same thing to Selena, her own sister. One of the two final family members she had left and she could be shortening, or have already ended the young girl's life span, yet every time she comes into this wretched dungeon she smiles just because she knows what she can do.
The door opened again. Instead of expecting to see Gem, it was a grunt who threw in a blonde girl-or what had been one-then left. Her hair was disheveled and practically dyed red, bloody cloths almost reduced to scraps, large gashes covering her body, bruises, it was surprising she was awake.
"Yellow?!" I rasped, throat dry from screaming. I stumbled over to her coughing from speaking to loudly, then fell down next to her. "Are you okay?" I whispered, trying to prevent another coughing fit.
She didn't answer, just nodded and focused on breathing. we sat there, for what seemed like hours before she talked. "I don't know how much longer I'll last." She began. "I can't stand on my own, I know I'm in pain but I don't know where, and I... I'm so dizzy, I want to sleep but I know I may not wake up."
I waited a moment before answering her. "You can't give up yet. Think of those you'll leave behind. Just wait a bit longer. They'll find us eventually. I can promise you that."
She gave me a weak, closed mouth smile. "Please hurry." I thought, some reason feeling we'd be saved soon.
Jewel's Pov
"I'm not naive, I'm just saying, it's not like that!" Black shouted.
"Are you trying to get caught?" I scolded him for his yelling. "And if you could see how you look at her, and if you noticed the way she looked at you, you'd think it's obvious." I told him as we neared her cell, not telling him so.
"I think you're crazy." He began, then paused. "Maybe you're not wrong about me liking Prez, but I think you're wrong about her feeling the same way."
"And what gives you the right to speak for me?" A feminine voice asked, who I'm guessing was "Prez".
Black froze like a deer caught in headlights. He turned his head slowly to look at me. "You knew..." He whispered.
I shook my head and walked over to her cell doors. "Hey! You must be White. For the record, I totally ship you guys." I heard Black let lose a quiet growl. "I'm gonna go look around real quick, make sure no one else is around, find some more good guys, give you two a moment to talk, a~nd, I will see you two, in a bit." I bolted around the corner on the opposite side we came from, giggling at my teasing skills.
White's Pov
The girl bolted around the corner, leaving Black and I alone. We just stood there, staring at each other. "Why would you think I don't feel the same?" I asked, breaking the deadly silence.
"Because you don't?"
There was a silence. "You're wrong." I replied.
"What?" He asked surprised.
"You're wrong about me not feeling the same way." I spoke louder.
"I'm... Uh... What?"
"For the love of!" I shouted. It was then that I realized how close he was, so I pulled him towards me, our lips crashing into each other.
Jewel's Pov
"Kara?" I asked surprised, not expecting to see the strawberry blonde out cold on a rug. I knelt down next to her, this time shaking her a bit. "Kara!" I whisper-yelled.
Kara made a sound as she woke up. "Jewels?" She asked, trying to get up.
"I still don't see how that's a nickname if you're adding onto my name." I commented, forcing her to sit back down.
"It's easier to say."
"Sure, sure. Now what happened?" I asked.
"Um... I was tired, 'cause Gem switched my shift but hasn't had someone come and switch out-and you know how she is when things aren't done her way-but I don't like coffee, so I thought, "Hey, I can make it a few days without sleep, right?" but apparently, I can't. So, why are you over here?" She asked.
"Plan Z has started." I answered.
"Oh. Wow." She began. "It wasn't the middle of the day, last I remember, which means, I must've slept for a long time, explaining why I'm not tired, meaning that I can participate in the plan!" She got more and more excited as she continued. "Though I don't do anything, I'm really sick of pretending to be evil."
I agreed, knowing that it would be pointless to argue with Kara of all people. We began walking back, making me realize exactly how far from White's cell I had wondered. Though it wasn't really THAT far, it was still pretty far, but we were close enough we could still walk.
Kara was walking faster, and in front of me. I eyed her ponytail, following the sky blue tips at the bottom of her hair as it swayed.
§Flashback§
"Kara, why can't people know we're related?" I asked, curious. We are Irish twins, siblings born within a year of each other. She was born in the beginning of February and I was born at the end of December ten months later.
"Because, Bud." She began. "We're going undercover in an organization that's going to specialize in theft, murder, and causing people pain. We want people to think we have nothing so that they don't try to make us heartless by taking one of us from the other." She explained.
I understood what she meant by this, but still felt that it needed to be clarified. "So, in other words, we can't act like we just met through the organization and became best friends either?" I asked.
"I don't think villains can have friends, Bud." She told me.
"You never know." I began. "There could be one. Somewhere at least." I sighed. "I don't want to be without you, but I feel like we have to do this." I turned around. "And I don't like the idea of denying that I care about someone!"
Kara thought for a moment. "I know!" She exclaimed. "Let's both dye the ends of our hair blue! Of course we'd have to bleach it first, because I'd just get a purple color, and you'd get a darker purple, so the only way we'd be able to find the other across a room would to bleach our hair then dye it a bright blue! That way, we'd be saying we're close to each other without confirming it! No danger involved!" She smiled one of the brightest smiles I'd ever seen.
§Flashback End§
We got back to the girl's cell, only to see the two basically eating each other's faces. The only thing in their way was the iron bars. "Please, wait until no one is scheduled to go in an area next time you feel the need to make out with each other." Kara called out to them in an amused tone. They pulled apart, flinging themselves to the walls farthest away from each other. "On the bright side, if the enemy were to walk in, they would probably just watch instead of kill you both."
"Always so cheerful, Kara." I muttered sarcastically.
"You love me." She replied.
"I'm going to let White out of the cell now!" I shouted.
I got her out of the cell, got her her pokemon, and the four of us went off to get the others as well, while I pretended I didn't notice the new couple trying to steal kisses from each other. Kara on the other hand, felt the need to secretly take pictures when she could (Yes, she did take a picture of them kissing).
Selena's Pov
I woke up in a dark room on the hard, cold floor. I couldn't see an inch in front of me. Not even the shapes or outlines of any surrounding objects.
I was there for a long time. I'd make a guess, but I have no sense of time whatsoever. Probably one of the side effects for the no sleeping thing.
Some reason, I wasn't scared. I was calm, and for some reason, hopeful. I was still tired. And I don't know why, but I closed my eyes, and fell asleep.
X's Pov
I found a thin metal rod and I picked the lock with it (No idea how it worked). I waited until the guard on duty wasn't looking before I got out and knocked him out with it. Luckily, he wasn't very smart and left my pokemon out. I grabbed them and went to look for Y.
Luckily, I didn't have to go very far. Her cell was an earshot distance away from mine. "X!" She exclaimed, the grunt guarding her cell noticing me. I still had the metal rod in hand, and knocked him out with it too. I quickly ran up to her cell door and began unlocking it.
I didn't say anything, but I did hug her the moment I opened the door. She stiffened, then hugged me back a few moments later. I pulled away from her, feeling the heat rise to my face. "We should uh... Probably go look for the others. We don't know how much time we have left before they decide to start executions."
I turned around to walk away, but she grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. I was pulled into another hug by her. "I missed you..." She whispered before running in a direction. I smirked before following after her.
Silver's Pov
I was just sitting there, staring at a wall. Not doing anything. I had heard about the plan, but whether or not it would work was another question. In all honesty, I was waiting for someone to come and try to kill me.
Don't get me wrong, I had no plans of dying, I was going to attack them once they came. I planned on stealing their keys and hoped that they would have a map to the building on them.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when a hyper, but kind and gentle voice called me. "Silver? Are you dead? Did they kill you?! Oh my Arceus, we're too late! They killed him! Maybe if we had ran over here instead of acting like ninjas and hiding we could've saved him!"
I looked over slowly to see Lyra, Crystal, Blue, Black, White, a girl with bright purple hair and blue tips, and another girl standing next to her with strawberry blonde hair with blue tips.
Lyra continued rambling about how I was "dead", while the one with violet hair commented that they weren't trying to hide and did run, while everyone else sweatdropped.
"I see no resemblance between the two whatsoever." White mumbled. I could hear a mixture of amusement along with confusion.
Lyra was still rambling about Arceus-knows-what, so I decided to step in. "Lyra, as interesting as your rambling is, I would very much appreciate it if you would let me out."
She jumped, not expecting someone to say something. "Slivy~!" Lyra called happily, fumbling with the cell keys. She flung the door open and tackled me... Literally. I fell, landing in a sitting position, legs straight out, Lyra, having been the one who tackled me, followed. She landed on top of me, us ending up in a very uncomfortable position, our faces very close together.
I heard some clicking, and turned to see none other than Blue, taking many pictures with a pokegear. and Crystal was staring in amusement, her mouth wide open, which eventually turned into a smirk.
Everyone was staring at her. "What?" She asked defensively. "Oh, you know you all ship it! And I had to take this from one of the grunts! I couldn't miss any moments like this!" A few of the others nodded in agreement and she looked back at us. "Lyra, you can get off of him now, Sweetie. That is, unless you two want some alone time~." She winked.
Lyra jumped up off of me, springing almost three yards (about three meters) away. I got up, acting like nothing happened, but undoubtedly my face matching the color of my hair.
"W-well, what a-are we waiting around for? L-let's go get the others!" Lyra stuttered, looking at the girl with the purple hair.
The girl lead us, her talking to the strawberry blonde. Blue told me the purple haired one was named Jewel, and the other one was Kara. We soon stopped in front of an empty cell.
"This isn't right..." Kara muttered. There were no grunts in sight, there was a brick in the wall that was removed and empty, which I'm guessing is where the pokeballs were kept. "They wouldn't have started, would they?" She asked Jewel.
"I don't know... The keys are still there, and it's procedure to take them, so it's possible he got out." She replied.
"Guys, what's going on?" Crystal asked, worry evident in her voice.
"This is Emerald's cell, but he isn't here..." Kara said slowly.
"But when a prisoner is taken, it's procedure to take the keys in case they get away so that person doesn't release any other prisoners." Jewel continued.
"Though the keys are still here." Kara finished.
"If they continue to do this, I'm going to lose my mind." I thought.
"Let's check the nearby cells." Jewel told us.
We went, and sure enough, that one was empty as well. "Same here." Kara stated. "The keys are still here!"
They ran to the next one, and two more after that, all the same results until we got to one with Sapphire inside. She looked up when she heard the footsteps. "Guys!" She exclaimed.
We let her out and explained everything. "So, for all we know, the rest of our friends could be dead, or about to be?" Sapphire asked in disbelief."
"Unfortunately, yes." Jewel answered grimly.
"So what are we going to do? We can't just wander aimlessly when they could be executed at any second." Sapph shot back.
"And we won't. You have us; The two people recruited by Inner Forces to take down Mirage from the inside! ... Literally!" Kara cheered.
"Are you guys the only ones here?" Crystal asked accusingly.
Kara looked down. "No... We actually weren't very good at doing much... However, that doesn't change the fact that we know the layout of this place inside and out. On the way to where we're going is two other cells, so we can check those real quick on the way there."
"Let's go then." Sapphire spoke up.
We checked the next two cells, which were empty. After we found the second empty, Kara and Jewel led the way in all nine of us sprinting to the execution chamber.
We busted open the door, only to find an empty room. We looked to the two 'Inner Force' members to tell us where our friends were. "There's only one other place they would be, which is on the other side of the building. Of course, that's only if they're still alive. To get there in time we have to move even faster than we already are. Let's go." Jewel told us, no explanation, just running out of the room and in a direction.
Red's Pov
I had snuck out of my cell in the middle of the night. I was running around, hiding in shadows, it wasn't a part of the plan, but from what I could tell, we were behind schedule, so I decided to go and look for the others as well.
I hid in shadows, around columns, corners, I even hid behind curtains. I ran into that guy from earlier though. "Red!" He whisper-shouted urgently. What are you doing all the way over here? Where are the others?"
"I got out of my cell on my own. No one else came to get me." I answered.
"It was supposed to take a while. It wasn't the 'Instant results' kind of plan, and... You know what, it doesn't matter. I need your help." He began. "Flare never met up with me in one of the hidden passage ways. I think something happened."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Just follow me." He groaned, running off in a direction.
He ran up to a locked door and threw it open. Inside, was not a pretty sight. There, on the floor, was an unconscious Yellow and who I was guessing was Flare. They had cuts, bruises, burns, bloody cloths, knotted hair, and large gashes all over.
I rushed over to Yellow, and Citrine to Flare. I gently shook Yellow, careful not to move her too much. She opened her eyes, but only by a sliver. "Red?" She whispered in a raspy voice.
"Yellow, are you okay?" She didn't answer, just closed her eyes. "Hey, hey, hey! Keep your eyes open."
"Here. Give her this." Citrine handed me a cup of water and some bread. She ate and drank both, but was still weak, and the same thing applied to Flare.
I was fuming. "How could they do this? They have no right to do this to anyone." I thought to myself.
It was at least an hour later before Flare was fully conscious, and another half an hour when Yellow did.
Blue's Pov
After several hours of following Jewel and Kara around, we ran into the others. "Guys!" I shouted.
"Hi." Emerald said with a wave.
Jewel counted how many of us were there before saying, "We're missing people. Which probably means Kara and I were right... That's not good... No time to waste! Let's go!" She sped around the corner with Kara following behind her closely. Us dexholders shared a confused look before quickly following after them.
"So, do you plan on filling us in?" Green asked in an annoyed tone.
"Well, they're either being tortured, or they're about to be killed." Kara told him. "Fortunately, both of those sectors are right across the hall from one another, so we can split up and check both at the same time. If we counted right, you guys are missing two people. Luckily, everyone else we thought were in the same situation were just in the other group. So let's hope that they just got out on their own and weren't taken by Mirage for their execution."
"How long until we get there?" X asked.
"I know a shortcut." A new voice informed us. "Would you like to know what it is?"
Flare's Pov
"Flare, where's Selena?" Citrine asked.
"I don't know." I began. "I haven't seen her since we were knocked out."
"Okay. Come on." Citrine picked me up bridal style and motioned for Red to do the same. They managed to stop our cuts from bleeding, but cleaning and covering them would have to wait for later.
Citrine left the room we were in and started opening the doors he hadn't already checked. I was surprised he didn't drop me in the process.
Finally, we came to the last door in the sector. Citrine opened the door, walked in, gently set me down, then ran over to his sister. The light that shone in from the hallway illuminated her face. She looked exhausted.
Citrine's Pov
I shook my sisters shoulders, trying to prompt her awake. She opened her eyes by a sliver, then closed them again.
Someone grabbed my shoulder weakly trying to comfort me. "Go sit back down against the wall, Flare." I ordered.
"I'm perfectly fine." She shot back, stumbling a bit, almost falling over.
"Of course you are." I replied sarcastically.
"Hey, you two! You gotta see this." Red called.
Kara's Pov
"You..." I growled.
"Shade!" Jewel squealed excitedly before running up to tackle him in a hug. He caught her as she did so, instantly returning the hug.
I continued to glare at him. "What's up, Ginger?" Shade said to me, smirking.
"My name. Is Kara." I growled at him. "Let go of my sister."
Shade looked down in surprise. "You didn't tell me Ginger was your sister, Cupcake." He looked between the two of us. "You know what, you kind of look alike. Plus the hair thing, that's cute."
"Just give us the shortcut, and we'll be on our way." I hissed at him.
"You know what, I think I'll go with so you lovely humans don't get confused." He smirked.
"We do not need your help."
"Okay. You can just walk then. Although that isn't nearly as fun as a shortcut."
"I don't care! We're just trying to get them out of danger, then we move to phase thirteen version six of Inner Forces' plan to take down Mirage, no thanks to you!"
(A/N: Phase Thirteen Version Six = Fancy version of Plan Z)
"Um, who do you think makes all the hidden rooms and secret passages? I know this place better than anyone. I designed this building. I know exactly how to get out. Also, no one ever told me that we started." He shrugged.
"Shade, we get it, you disappear for at least a week at a time to build things. Kara, there's no point in yelling if the person you're yelling at isn't returning the hearing loss." Jewel scolded.
"I don't wanna help anymore. She's being mean to me." Shade told her.
(A/N: I'm literally like Shade in an argument. Sarcastic, sassy, and making jokes. Comes in handy if you want to piss off your siblings in an argument... Just a helpful tip.)
"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Blue shouted. "I have had enough with these past two months! I've gotten at least five hours of sleep PER WEEK, so I'm exhausted and I want to get this over with. So let's go get our friends, and GO. HOME." She turned to Shade. "You, are coming with us, and Jewel, you try to prevent them from killing each other. Got it? Great. Now let's go already." She stalked off, and we all followed her, but after her explosion, aside from a few, we acted as if we were walking on eggshells.
Green's Pov
"'Get this over with'?" I questioned Blue, whispering so the other wouldn't hear.
"The were getting really loud, I didn't want us to get caught. Also, that guy was just joking around while she was getting mad. Neither of them would've won." She replied.
"Smart."
"Was that a compliment?" She smirked.
I rolled my eyes.
"I think we're in the same situation they are with their arguments."
"What?" I asked, slightly surprised.
Blue sighed. "We're getting nowhere in our relationship, Green. I think it's pretty obvious that I care about you more than a friend and I don't know if you feel the same-"
I planted a quick kiss on her lips and pulled away before speeding to catch up with the others. It took her a moment, but she eventually followed.
"What was that?" She asked.
I looked at her before smirking, and pecking her lips again. "What are you talking about?"
Red's Pov
I was standing outside the doorway with Yellow in my arms when I heard voices rounding the corner. I began inching into the doorway when I caught a glimpse of the person at the front. I turned around and called, "Hey, you two! You gotta see this!"
Citrine walked out the doorway and told Flare to sit back down before coming face-to-face with all the dexholders. For a few moments there were people walking around making sure everyone was okay, and many of the girls were crowding around Yellow and I trying to figure out what had happened to her. Several others were talking to Citrine to know what we were going to do next, and the remaining few were taking care of Selena.
Finally, someone interrupted once everything important was done. "This reunion is adorable and all, but I really think we shouldn't remain stationary. Kind of easier to be caught that way." We turned to see Flare standing in the doorway, clutching her side.
Citrine went over to her and quickly picked her up bridal style. "I told you to sit down." He whispered.
"And I told you I'm fine." She shot back.
"Selena in there?" Shade interrupted.
Citrine nodded. "I'll get her." Shade announced before going into the room.
Following Shade's lead, we were able to get out of the building rather quickly with almost no problems. On the way out, Kara got out a strange-looking device and sent a message. Pretty soon after that, there were hundreds of people flooding the tunnels for Inner Forces members. The members were greeting each other on the way out. They each had at least one Mirage member in restraints, and if they didn't they would be given someone to lessen the load of someone with two or three Mirage members in restraints. It was a bit like clockwork.
Once we were all outside, Inner Forces members took off their Mirage uniform, only to reveal a casual everyday outfit underneath. Those with medical training came over and took Yellow, Selena, and Flare to treat them.
Citrine waited five minutes before taking out a remote with a covering over it. "EVERYONE OUT OF THE BUILDING?!" He shouted. When everyone nodded, he flipped over the cover to reveal a large red button. With that, he pushed it, causing large amounts of smoke, fire, and dust to fly all over the place.
After an hour the police arrived. Taking every Mirage member, including Gem or Gemma, whatever her name was. With explanation though, they left the Inner Forces members. "Is it really... Over?" Kara asked.
"Yeah," Citrine began, wrapping an arm around Flare's shoulder as he stared at the pile of rubble. "It's finally over." He smiled before the two of them went over to ride with Selena to the hospital. She wasn't in danger of dying, but they would be able to take care of her better there.
For the next several hours, we were giving statements to the police. Once it was all over, I saw Yellow. I stood there for a while, trying to find the courage to go talk to her. I ended up not needing to when Kara shoved me in her direction, and gave me a thumbs up when I looked back at her with a questioning look.
I shook my head and walked over. "That was kind of a lame solution to this problem, wasn't it?" I asked once I was next to her.
She turned to me and smiled. "Since when have we done things normally? Besides, you don't always need to fight to win the battle. There's always a simple solution to a problem that isn't ignoring the problem completely. It isn't always easy to get to the solution, but rather than fighting, it's simple. I've always been against fighting because of this. If it's necessary, then you have no choice. If there's another way, then why not take it? Fighting like this often involves death. Even though we didn't get all the answers we wanted, we got lucky today."
"You said it, Yelz." I laughed in agreement. I then decided to listen to what she had just said. I'm done fighting my feelings. The solution is simple. I bent down to capture her mouth with my own. I pulled back and whispered, "Never leave me again." She nodded before pulling me down for another kiss.
Yellow had always been the one person for me. She is sweet, kind, caring, gentle, and so much more. I may be oblivious, and extremely dense, but I'm smart enough to know that Yellow is the only one for me. That we were made for each other. That she's the love of my life. The one love I'll ever have.

Me: I know that for those of you who hoped for an action filled ending are probably disappointed with how I made this story end, but I'm proud of it, and if any of you readers love it too, that's great. It's true though. You don't need some extravagant ending to every story. They can be cliche and still be amazing.
