NB: not a meme in the least, just something I want to keep track of for my own creative reference (I think I'm much more creative while asleep) and to show to a real-life friend who is amused by my dreams. This seemed like as good a place for that as any. Despite the personal intent, there isn't anything private here, so feel free to read it if you wish.

I was reviewing my dream journal this morning, and wanted to note the following entertaining or creative events for future reference. Over 2016, I dreamed that:

I visited:
- a place that claimed to be Germany but wasn't;
- a castle owned by Mr. Bean;
- several other castles;
- Midsomer County;
- a road end that was contaminated by deadly radiation;
- a secret room under a university building;
- an AutoCAD rendering;
- a space station and then an off-planet mining colony;
- a very large Georgian house;
- several beaches and sea-side stormwater management ponds;
- a non-existent-in-real-life boardwalk running the length of the Queen Elizabeth Way;
- a somewhat disappointing "Great Library" (definitely a library, not as great as one would wish);
- an actually great library in a teeny-tiny town;
- a small house that was part of a neighbourhood that was entirely within a large warehouse;
- an elementary school with a large theatre;
- a made-up small town by the name of "Boston, Ontario"
- an amusement park with a great Superman-themed rollercoaster;
- a suburban aqueduct;
- Kyoto;
- my late grandparents' house;
- a hotel room that was also a museum;
- formal gardens resembling those at Versailles;
- a shop that sold dragons;
- an Olympic swimming venue;
- a theatre showing Mikado;
- a space fleet battle;
- a footbridge decorated with Egyptian tomb figurines;
- a villa in a suburb of Rome that was magically next to an Alpine Lake (called something like "Lake Interstitia", ridiculously);
- a ballroom in a fairy-mound;
- a variety of buses, trains, etc.;
- a fictional European country ruled by a friend;
- an Amazonian society run by women;
- Various less interesting places, including some bakeries with truly excellent food. ;)

I met the following people/things:
- a crime-solving dog and snake, named "Abercrombie" (dog) and "Matcha" (snake);
- a man who was an expert on Hot Mix Asphalt;
- Ramsay Bolton of Game of Thrones fame (not a pleasant meeting);
- Mr. Bean (at his castle, as per the above);
- a minor trickster god (fun and irritating, all at once!);
- several dragons (not at that dragon-selling store, though, they were all out!);
- a solider on leave from the First World War;
- a boy who was a noted strategist and son of the ruler of the land he lived in;
- a man who wore cargo pants and steampunk goggles all the time;
- a supernatural villain who manifested as just a patch of darkness;
- a noted stage actor (noted within the dream world anyhow);
- a literally green-eyed monster;
- a supernatural personification of winter, named, wait for it, 'Lord Winter';
- a man named 'Daniel-from-next-door' who was not from next door;
- General Esterhazy, an explicitly Chinese man (he said he was from China) in a rather Ruritanian-looking military uniform, who was an important official in a fictional European Country;
- lots of less interesting people. I trust that the people I dream of in 2017 will be more interesting. I have already dreamed of a one-legged Roman soldier, so that is a good sign.

I also:
- ate lots of good food;
- got involved in solving a couple of murders;
- was arrested for tresspassing in a restricted area;
- attended a lot of lectures;
- witnessed my parents' dog talking;
- played with huge piles of sand;
- made a presentation about Ancient Roman construction techniques to a group of children;
- appeared in a stage production that was supposed to be Mikado, except the music being played was from Yeoman of the Guard, and I was dressed as a pirate;
- commanded a space fleet, in space;
- escaped a rogue, time-travelling T. Rex;
- watched a four-year-old outwit a monster;
- spontaneously decided to spend a weekend in Europe;
- went to a ball in a fairy-mound attended by fairies and minor gods;
- found I could control certain other people's minds, but only if I were riding the bus, or walking very close to them;
- wore a really cute skirt;
- was part of a resistence movement trying to plant a bomb to stop the Nazis;
- was very well-dressed but indecently-behaved in Edo period Kyoto.
