"What the fuck is it?"

"It is her, you dumbass."

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. It was harder than I expected. Usually, I can't keep them closed and now they didn't want to open. The irony.

I was in a dimly lighted room and I think. But I was definitely lying somewhere not that comfortable. As I saw the cool girl, events of previous night flashed before my eyes.

Holy shit, I got in to criminal stuff.

There was also another person behind the girl. It was young boy-teenager maybe. He was looking as puzzled as I am.

"Leave. Now." The cool girl said in a low tone leaving no room for arguing. Boy just nodded and went out of the room.

None of us broke the silence. Girl was looking elsewhere while I was looking at her. Her dark black hair was let down now and her clothing was more colorful. but she still carried her dark aura with her. She looked different. Like she was from another world. And I don't know why but I wanted to explore that world.

Girl cleared her throat to get my attention and I looked at her. I thought her eyes were black, but really, they were just dark blue, the color that skies get right after sun down.

"Last night you interrupted a really important meeting. Do you know what it might have resulted with?" She asked me, bringing me back from my thoughts. I shrugged, not really knowing what to tell to that.

I didn't know what I have gotten myself into until this moment. I was in the middle of something really dangerous. And on top of it all, I was still hungry.

"Your death. But you actually fought him off which was kind surprising." She said with small chuckle.

I shrugged. Ignoring the fact that she told me I might have died and more concentrating on the fact that she was surprised by me. "Just because I am not well built doesn't mean I can't fight."

Cool girl rolled her eyes making the ocean in her eyes get big tides. "Whatever you say, drink girl." I chuckled at the nickname.

"Look, the guy you helped me to takedown was kind of the main figure of our rivals. Now they might want to take revenge on you. Do you get it?" She asked me seeing the confused look on my face.

Suddenly I remembered that I am in an unknown location, with the cool girl who totally has gun in her pocket, and I might have helped kill someone. "Where the hell I am?" I whispered still trying to understand what she just said.

"You are in the headquarters of Dark. One of the top 10 gangs in New York. That guy, he was from Dawn.  They are currently trying to get over us. And you just happened to step in the middle of that battle." She said it calmly and slowly so that I would hear every part of it.

"So, If I got it right, that Dawn team, group whatever. Might think that I am one of you and want to murder me?" I asked with steady voice though my insides were ready to come right out of my mouth.

The girl slowly nodded. I started to get even more panicky. She was saying something but I couldn't hear it over the sound of my heart beating in my ears.

"Shit, so much for wanting to eat something." I mumbled to myself. I saw cool girl waving her hands around me, trying to get my attention.

"Listen, we- I mean, the gang has put you under protection until things clear up. You won't be staying here but I will be around you to make sure that you are safe."

Her words started to make sense now. But I still didn't trust her nor her gang for that matter. If there is one thing I have learned in life is that nothing is done simply. There is always some second part of the deal written in a small size at the bottom of the letter.

"What's your benefit from this?" I asked more calmly this time. All panic was gone and replaced with the pure lawyer features.

The only thing that I am thankful for my dad. His skills.

"Good question drink girl. Well, our benefit is that you might just be able to bring Dawn to us. You are already their main interest so we might as well use you as a bait to lure them in." Her arms were crossed in front of her chest, and she was analyzing my reaction.

"I am Olivia. And in my defense, I didn't get to drink or eat anything till the end anyway." I said which made her smirk.

"I am Elyssa but you can call me the one who finished your meal."  She introduced herself and smiled jokingly at the end which made small dimple appear on her cheek.

I faked heartache and placed my hand on my heart. "You, monster," I added with amusement evident in my tone.

Elyssa rolled her eyes but something flashed behind her eyes. "Get up Drama Queen, I have some business matters to attend. And unfortunately, I have to carry you everywhere with me." She stood up and straightened her clothes in front of a mirror and looked at me.

"Can't you just drop me back at home? I won't do anything stupid." Saying this made me feel like a child again. A child who wanted to escape from the pressure of her parents.

Elyssa ignored my question and we walked out of the room. "I don't think that you understand just how much dangerous it is. We are not the one to be messed up with. " She said as we made few turns and we standing in front of the elevator.

We got in and she pressed the button of the first floor.  After doors closed she moved her jacket to the side which revealed her pistol and knife tucked to her waistband.  I knew that she would have them, but still my eyes went wide.

"They have even more dangerous things. So, stick with me if you want to live till the day you graduate college." Elyssa said with concern.

I nodded not knowing what to say. I mean it is not every day I see a cute girl and a gun together.  Luckily for me, elevator's doors opened and we stepped out.

Instead of going out from the front door we made a turn and walked around exiting from the back door. Sun was to high up which made me squint my eyes as soon as we stepped out of the house.

By now I somehow gained the control of my thoughts and asked. "How do you know about me being in college?" To be honest this is stupid question. But still it's worth asking.

Ignoring my question, Elyssa put on her sunglasses and went over to motorcycle which was parked between 2 cars. She was searching her pockets as she turned towards me.

"Nearly forgot to give it to you. We just checked it for any tracking bugs."  She added seeing my confused expression. As I got my phone, I saw that I had 3 missed calls from Casey.

Shit, I was late for university and probably won't be able to catch up with Casey after her lessons were over. I quickly messaged Casey that I had extra shift at work, so she would stop calling me.

"I hope you are not telling anyone about it. I am not in a mood to kill people you know."  Elyssa spoke with no sarcasm in her voice. No joke intended.

I rolled my eyes at her. "I am not stupid. I told my friend I had extra shift" She chuckled and her motorcycle's engine roared. She signaled for me to hop on and I sat behind her and secured my hands around her shoulder.

"Looks like you have ridden this before huh?" She asked me while she started to drive. "Yeah, I used to have one." I said and Elyssa nodded.

After that, the only sound that could be heard was the roaring of the engine. I was looking through the streets of Hell's Kitchen while Elyssa concentrated on the road.

She made few sudden turns which reminded me to hold onto her. I tightened my hold on the girl who was going to be my guard while we drove into the mouth of danger.
