Joey Drew's Point Of View
"Alright everyone!" I tapped my cane against the wood floor as I saw all eyes turn to me. "We are due for another cartoon next week!" I heard a collective groan from the room. Henry approached me, resting a hand on my shoulder. "Pal, we've been working overtime. Maybe, a break?" He insisted on getting money that way. One week's worth of cartoon torment and a break for a week. Unlike me, I wouldn't enjoy the week off. "F.......F.........Fine." I grumbled as the room erupted into a loud cheer. I sighed and looked at Henry. "Everything'll be fine!" He said, smiling at me widely.
I stayed in my office for a while, trying to think of ideas for next week's new episode. Since my head drifted off every now and then, I turned on the radio for some good ol' jazz music. It's much easier with more people on board. The music set some mood for some upbeat and happy ideas. Bendy could go to a fair with Alice Angel dressing up. Maybe some new changes can be made. I looked down at the blank paper and took the pencil to point. Across the page formed new lines, new curves, new mistakes.
Alice Angel turned out to be more curvy and her black dress had changed to white. Angel wings spread across the back of her as her horns had disappeared. A fallen angel. Catchy. I had several ideas come into my mind. Bendy and Alice Angel would go to a fair where Alice Angel would get her wings. She would look different after that. What would Henry think of it? I heard a clamor of voices but tried to ignore it by turning up the music. Knock! Knock! Knock! I swore I heard a knock on my office door. I decided to ignore it and countied sketching out my plot.
Knock! Knock! Knock! This pet peeved me. Now this time, it wasn't imaginary. I turned down the volume on the radio. "Come in!" I yelled. The door creaked with Wally Franks standing there. He held a mop in his left hand while carrying the bucket in the other. "Joey, do you happen to know about the ink machine? It's kinda acting funky lately and-" But I interrupted.
"Wally, again, who's job is it to make sure the ink machine stays intact?" I asked him. "Well, it sure ain't nothing like I've ever seen!" Wally said. He turned around to exit. "Show me." I said. Wally nodded and opened the door. We both headed on down the halls to where the ink machine had been kept. As we approached the room, I could hear someone saying 'Bendy' over and over again. It sounded like Sammy Lawrence. I looked over at Wally who held his mop close, while putting the bucket in front of him. I picked up a nearby axe and tried to swallow the lump in my throat. Me and Wally burst in with our weapons raised high.
Sammy had been on his knees as the ink machine began to chug out ink. "Wally, turn it off!" I yelled. Wally took off toward the pump switch while I dragged Sammy away from the ink machine. He screamed out Bendy's name several times as the ink from the ink machine grew a hand. "J-J-J-J-J-J-Jo-o-o-o-o-o-oE-E-E-E-E-Ey-y-y-y........" A voice whispered from the ink puddle. It can speak?! What the hell did Sammy do?! I saw two demon horns rise out of the puddle. Small droplets of ink created more of the beast. "C-C-C-C-Cr-r-r-rE-E-E-Ea-a-a-aT-T-T-ToR-R-R-R?" Sammy tried to break free from me. I didn't care who or what this thing looked like but Sammy sure wanted it.
The chugging sound stopped as the creature rose higher in it's small, skinny body. It had no more ink to collect so I took this chance. I dropped Sammy onto the floor, grabbed the axe, and ran at the ink being. I sliced the axe through the ink monster's waist but the attack proved useless. Wally came running back in and in a desperate attempt, threw mop water all over me and the ink being. The ink being began to melt into a puddle as it cried out for help. I found myself panting over this and turned around to look at Sammy. "S-S-S-Sammy-Sammy, wh-what the hell did you-you-you do?!" I yelled. Sammy had a look of horror on his face. He then blinked several times before standing up. "N-N-N-Nothing-Nothing to worry about.....Joey.....now if ya'll excuse me," He dusted himself off as I noticed some blood on his gloved hands. "I have some songs to sing." He turned around and walked off.
I looked at Wally who had decided to clean the stains with the soapy water that still stayed. "I'm not getting paid enough for this." He sighed. Still, I needed to question Sammy on his actions of whatever he summoned. Am I going mad? Or is everyone else changing? I need some coffee. For sure, that won't happen again.......right? "You can go on now Mr. Drew, I have this. Don't worry!" Wally gave me a comforting smile so I knew he would be fine. I walked back down to my office when I heard something come from the music room. Sammy must have not heard the news. I walked on down to the room where I saw Sammy playing a banjo. He appeared to be making new music. I bit my lip and approached him. Sammy looked to be focused solely on the music. "Uh, S-S-S-Sammy, you-you do know that-that I-I-I said you could go home, right?"
Sammy nodded.
