It was a cold morning that day. The 8th of January. Around nine am Jessica's phone buzzed, heading to the living room, Jessica picked up her phone and immediately a smile covered her face. She returned back to her kitchen and sat on the chair. Crossing her legs, she reached for her already lighted cigarette and took a drag.

*Good morning baby*

The blonde woman kept looking at the text, again and again, couldn't help but smile at the thought of Susan typing it and even thinking of her first thing in the morning. She almost forgot how it felt to have someone thinking of her.

*Good morning. How are you?* she texted back and within a few seconds, she regretted it. "Jesus, I could've been a little nicer..." she thought and exhaled, "Fuck..." she whispered and stared at her window.

As for Susan... oh, she knew her lover way better than Jessica knew herself. Asking her how she was... well, that's something, right?

Susan took a sip from her coffee and took a hold of her phone, smiling.

*I'm great. Didn't got any sleep but great. Wyd?*

Jessica looked at the message, she kept looking at it for several minutes, wearing now her glasses, "Wyd? What the hell is that?" she mumbled to herself, deciding not to pay attention to that, hoping that Susan won't notice it she texted back *Why? What are you doing now?*

*I don't know. I asked you first*

*When?*

The minute Susan looked at the reply she couldn't help but laugh, she continued... *Nevermind, you wanna go for a walk?*

*You and me? Out together?*

*Jess, we're not gonna fuck in the middle of the street, we're just walking*

*I'm coming in ten, okay?*

*Sure*

Jessica was standing outside Susan's building, looking around and making sure that no one is following her. She turned her head once again to the building's door just to fall into Susan who was standing still, looking at her. Telling by her eyes, Jessica could see that Susan was smiling underneath her pink mask, she couldn't help but smile as well.

And there they were, looking at each other and sitting in comfortable silence.

"How long has it been?"

"Two weeks"

"You've been counting the days?"

"Of course"

"I missed you terribly"

"I felt that" Jessica replied and chuckled

"Maybe we could go upstairs and not for a walk"

"You know I would love to but we said we're walking and that's what we're gonna do"

"You're right," Susan said and both started walking "Besides, our age, walking could save us"

"At this point honey, nothing could save us"

"Especially us?"

"Especially us" Jessica replied and laughed along with Susan.

"And after that, I went to Eva, she told me she's seeing someone, I didn't see him but I trust her"

"How are the kids?"

"They're fine, they made me this Penny cardboard with coins glued on it. Eva is worried that I'm alone, she was trying to convince me to start dating again. I mean, after all this"

"You didn't tell her?"

"About what?"

"About us"

"Jess, I don't even know. I mean, after that night, we haven't talked about it"

"That's true"

"So what are we?"

"Well... I would like to think that we are together, you know" she replied, not looking at the other woman.

Susan sneakily smirked under her mask, "I would like to think we are together as well" she replied and extended her hand, trying to reach Jessica's but the younger woman politely rejected it by placing it into her pocket. "I don't want anyone else to know about us, Susan"

"You're right. My kids don't know, can't let them know it from the internet"

"I talked to Hannah about us"

"You did?" Susan shouted and opened wide her eyes "Wow" she whispered again.

"Yeah I mean, the whole thing, I mean our relationship. It wasn't just a good friendship from the very first time. Everyone noticed it, you said people who follow you went wild about it."

"And how... I mean, what did she, you know..."

"She wasn't surprised. Look, she wants me to be happy, she likes you and can't wait to meet you. That's all"

"I want to meet her as well"

"Look everything's fucked up. At this point, I won't even bother if an alien move next to me"

Susan chuckled, "I just want..." she stopped and sighed "I really hope for new generations to fully understand the meaning of life, you know, make great changes in this world. In this country. We lived our lives, good or bad it doesn't matter but as I was younger I was hoping that everything would turn around to the best and look at us now. Never in my wildest nightmares, I would've imagined living like this"

Jessica chuckled, "Yeah, don't say"

They continued walking until a man approached them, extending his hand to their side, Susan looked over Jessica, "You got any money?"

"Sure do" Jessica replied and took out of her pocket a dollar and some coins she kept in case she wanted to buy some coffee, she handed the money to the man, "Here you are"

"Thank you so much" he replied, never looking at them.

"Happy new year," Susan said and looked at him, "What's your name?" she asked

"Jacob"

"Well, happy new year, Jacob"

"Happy new year, God bless you" he replied and took off.

The two women continued walking, "Yeah, I really hope that the world's gonna change, even when we're not here to see it"

"It will change, slowly... very slowly but you'll see. We'll see it"

"That sounds promising"

"Well, being optimistic is free, right?"

"Yeah, right" Susan replied and smiled.

"I had a great time," Jessica said and both stopped outside Susan's building. "We should do it again"

"I've got something in mind that we should do again" Susan replied and looked down at Jessica's shoes, avoiding to look into her eyes. Jessica smirked, looking at her like that was only melting her heart. "Yeah?" she asked and removed her glasses.

"Yeah... and it's not walking" she replied.

Jessica furrowed her eyebrows together and moved closer, "What?"

"I said it's not walking" Susan shouted.

"Oh..." she exclaimed and shook her head

"What are you doing tonight?"

"Same thing I do every other night. Movies and sleep"

"You wanna do that with me?" Susan asked and hit her foot on the wall, playfully. She stopped and looked at her lover, raising her brow"

"I would love to..."

"Then it's a date?"

"I think so. Let's say around nine?"

"Sure. I'll be waiting"

"You want me to bring anything? Maybe something to drink, I don't know"

"No, I've got everything we need. Just..." she said and looked around, "One last thing," she added and grabbed Jessica's hand, pulling her into the building and pinning her on the, now, closed door. "I really want to see you without the mask," she said and took off her own mask.

With that Jessica laughed and threw her head to the side, pushing down the mask, Susan bit her own lips and smiled, "God, I missed that face" she said.

"I missed you too"

"May I?" Susan asked, her eyes glued on Jessica's lips.

Jessica shrugged and closed her eyes as she could feel Susan's warm breath approaching her. She moistured her lips and felt Susan's lips lightly touching her.

Susan started placing pecks all over Jessica's lips until the last one parted them and let Susan's tongue meet her. Jessica smiled into the kiss, her hands wrapped around Susan's neck. The redhead stopped and went back to pressing soft kisses on her lover's bottom lip. "I really have to go" she whispered while her lips were still touching Susan's. "Why?"

"I... we said tonight at nine"

Susan took a step back and looked at her with a smile on her face, "Did that turn you on?"

Jessica smirked and titled her head to the side, staring at her, "At nine" she whispered and wear back on her mask, "Answer me" Susan shouted laughing.

Jessica looked at her one final time before opening the door and shook her head. "Sent me when you get home"

"Of course" Jessica replied and left.

Susan chuckled and started walking towards the elevator.

The smell of cigarettes and lavender candles were filling up Susan's living room. With all the lights shut, Susan was resting her head on Jessica's shoulder while the last one was sitting between Susan's legs. Both looking at the door, whispering as if someone would hear them.

"Well, that's one of my greatest moments, it was incredible working with Catherine. I remember observing her scenes, she has her ways to mesmerize the audience. It's wonderful what she does, even now, after all these years, she still got it"

"You sound mesmerized yourself, honey"

"It would be a lie to say I'm not" she chuckled

"I see"

"Is that bothering you?" she asked and opened her eyes, looking at her.

"Me? Oh no, not at all." Jessica replied, "I have my ways as well"

"Around me?"

"You as well"

"Who else?"

Jessica chuckled, "No, it's you. I'm not thinking of anyone else except you"

"What an honor"

"Ce n'est rien"

"What?" Susan asked laughing

"Don't mention it"

"You speak French?"

"I kinda forgot but yeah, je parle un peu le francais"

"You're full of surprises, Lange" Susan said and started caressing Jessica's shoulder with her lips. Jessica leaned her head to the side, allowing Susan's lips to move freely on her neck. She purred, making Susan smile.

"I missed you"

"Hm... I can tell" Susan sneakily smirked as her lips landed on Jessica's earlobe, sucking and biting her occasionally. "What about you?"

"You already know the answer, baby," she said back and rested her opened palm on Jessica's breast, rotating it slowly. Jessica let her head fall behind, getting lost under her woman's touch.

"I said, stand up" she repeated again and blew the smoke once again. Making herself comfortable, she rested her legs on the coffee table, her left leg on top of the other, and tilted her head to the side, looking at her lover as she was now standing in front of her. "Take off your clothes" she commanded again, making Susan laugh, she stopped and looked at her, "For real?" she asked when she realized that Jessica wasn't joking.

Jessica nodded and continued looking at her.

Susan glanced up and met Jessica's eyes, she reached for the t-shirt and removed it slowly above her head, throwing it eventually on the floor.

Jessica's mouth watered by the sight, imagining her mouth sucking her breasts and her hands traveling all over her perfectly shaped body. She continued smoking and pointed to Susan's pants.
