Draftie #4

Name: Beyond the moon

Notes: So this will be a sequel to 'Amidst the stars' (so I will try not to spoil it for those who haven't read it) where Kayly, who is recovering for PTSD goes out to look for Cresselia so she can ask her for help to cure cure the chronic nightmares she suffers from nightly. As in the previous book, she is guided through her dreams by Jirachi and that's all I have so far.

Teaser:
I leant back on my chair lazily. The mid summer breeze blowing blissfully through an open window tingled my skin, a feeling I still had yet to get used to one again. My deep emerald green eyes stared on the window, daydreaming at what lay beyond the high stone walls that surrounded my father's manor, though of course, I'd long ago stopped dreaming of traveling beyond there myself. Only six months had passed since I'd returned home, my kidnapping still remained fresh in my mind. It was weird to think that the same time I'd spent recovering to today was the same amount of time I'd spent locked it a basement, chained to a wooden pillar--

"Kayley, are you listening?"

Snapping back to reality, my chair slammed back to the floor as I looked to my father with a guilty expression. Despite his busy work schedule, since having me back home he would clear as much time as possible to spend with me, whether it was helping me with my school work, sitting me with the garden or doing some sort of other activity, he cherished those moments we spent together. Sometimes he would start to cry out of no where, telling me over and over how sorry he was that he took so long to get me back, hugging me tightly as if he would loose me again.

A small sigh left my lips as I hung my head. "No, sorry daddy."

My father slipped in closer to me, studying my eyes carefully. "How long did you sleep last night?"

"Three hours..." I admitted hesitantly. "But then I another nightmare."

"It's getting worse isn't it?"

Chewing lightly on the back of my pencil, I gave my father a slight nod. "I can hardy sleep anymore and... They just get worse and... They scare me..."

"I've already told you to get me up if you have a bad dream Kayley, why don't you ever do that anymore."

"I don't want to worry you..."

"Kayley, you're worrying me now..." Daddy told me, running his fingers through my soft, beetle black hair. "You can talk to me, I won't push you away anymore."

~Pika?~

My eyes gratefully averted from my father's, looking down at the little Pikachu by my side. I gently patted my lap, inviting Macaron to sit, she did gladly. She was my new Pikachu, hatched from the egg my father gave me as something to do during my recovery time. Macaron was a lot lighter then regular Pikachu, softer to but I didn't mind, taking care of the baby Pokémon helped keep my mind off darker things.

Feeling jealous of the attention my younger Pikachu was getting, Dreamy hopped onto my shoulder in the past six months I'd been home, Dreamy had evolved from the cute little Pichu who had been kidnapped along with me into a Pikachu and I had plans to get a Thunder Stone and fully evolve him soon. I'd decided to wait a little longer for Macron to evolve since she was a lot younger then Dreamy was.

"I think we're done for the day." Daddy sighed, closing my maths text book as he checked his watch with a frown. "I have a meeting to get to, will you be alright on your own?"

Gently running my fingers through Dreamy's fur, I nodded. "I should be fine, I'll just stay in my room." My usual hiding place when my father wasn't around.

He frowned slightly but nodded. "Do want me to walk you there or get one of the security guards."

"You go, I can walk myself." I forced a smile, not wanting to make him late. "I have my Pokémon with me."

Daddy hesitated, looking at his watch again with guilty eyes before nodded. "If you're sure Kayley, I'll be home in time you take you to the Psychiatrist at 6. Is that alright with you?"

Giving my father a reassuring nod, I rose to my feet, standing on tippy toes to kiss his cheek. "I love to daddy."

"I love you too Kayley." My father kissed me back on the fore head. "Don't you ever forget." Then he disappeared out the door.

A small sigh left my lips as I fell back into my chair, my eyes landing on my discarded text book. I'd been home school ever since I was little because my father hated me leaving the house, in fact, the few times times I'd ever left was the time I was kidnapped, a few of my father's longer business trips during the first few months I'd been back home and my weekly psychiatrist appointments which had just started a few weeks ago. I could hardly focus on my work, even with the increased security, I was still constantly paranoid of ending back in that basement that made it impossible to proses my maths equations and essay writing. An entire year of my life had been wasted, my birthday, Christmas, the New Year I'd all missed without even knowing it.

I stood back to my feet, glancing out the window once more before turning on my heel to leave, Macron snuggle in my arms. "Blossom, Ivy, let's go." I called to my other two Pokémon.

Ivy looked up at me, her regal head rising from the woven basket from which she lay. ~Seperior?~ She inquired, uncoiling her serpentine body as she slipped from her bed. Ivy had been given to me as a baby Snivy, the child of my mothers Serperior before the two had perished in a plane crash when I was three. Over the years she evolved first into a Servine and then again into a Serperior. Like Dreamy she'd been taken with me when I'd been kidnapped and shared the horrid expedience. Though her moss like fur had grown over the burn scars shed received, the grass type had been suffering depression since the day we'd been returned to my father, though she hardly let it show. She was never not by my side, protecting me fiercely from anyone she deemed suspicions and would lash out at anyone when she didn't know exactly where I was.

Blossom was a gift from my father, like Macron. A Pachirisu that had been specially bred to be much stronger then most her species. Generally she was quite placid but like Ivy she got defensive of me really easily. She would bite anyone who tried to touch me and didn't recognise as a friend, getting extremely agitated when she didn't know where I was. Like Dreamy she liked to sleep but only when she deemed the area I was in safe. I'd given her the name Blossom after the Peach tree in my backyard, it was once one of my favourite places but I hadn't been to that part of the garden since the night I was kidnapped.

The Elesquirrel Pokémon happily climbed on my spare shoulder, rubbing her cheek against mine, chittering with happy sounds.

"Come on guys, to my room." I cheered with forced happiness, with Macron in my arms, Ivy at my side and Blossom on my shoulder with Dreamy, I walked through the winding halls of my home. It wasn't that far to my room but I still passed several guards along the way. Some smiled at me as I passed the, other regarded me with a nod while few ignored my passing completely.

Further notes: That's all I have so far and I want to edit 'Amidst the Stars' before I publish this but yeah, should be good I hope. Should I write it or leave the series as a single book?
