Chapter 5

...So this one is even longer...

*Rights to Rick*

Annabeth's POV:

After about half an hour of sitting there with her daughter and talking to Apollo, Artemis, Percy, Kayla, and Will, her son let out a small cry and started to root against her husband's chest. Artemis laughed and walked over to the baby, picking him up from Percy.

"Poor thing is hungry. Annabeth, give your daughter to Percy," She explained. Annabeth did just that and Artemis placed her son on her chest. He started to suck on her skin, looking for food.

"I'll be right back," Will said. He and Kayla left the room together.

Artemis continued, "Place him in front of your breast, and he should latch on." She helped Annabeth guide the baby and just like that, he was eating. Artemis laid a blanket over her so she could have a little more privacy.

Will walked back in the room then without Kayla, with two birth certificates in his hand. "Okay," He began. "What are you guys going to name your son?"

Percy looked at Annabeth, then down at the baby on her chest, who was only half visible. She smiled and gave him a soft nod. Percy sat up a little straighter before saying, "Luke Charles Jackson."

Will gave a sad smile to them and wrote it down. After a few seconds, he spoke again. "What about your daughter?"

Annabeth spoke this time, looking at Artemis, "Silena Zoë Jackson."

Artemis looked surprised and smiled at them with wet eyes. She mouthed 'thank you' to them, and Annabeth smiled back. Percy and Annabeth only felt it was right to name their kids after the four fallen heroes.

Just then, Luke stopped suckling and now lay asleep on her chest. She picked him up and passed him to Percy. Annabeth took little Silena from him and went to feed her, but for some reason, she didn't latch. She frowned and turned to the two gods. "What do I do?"

Artemis sighed and stood up, walking to her before saying, "Sometimes they do that. Usually they just aren't hungry but you little one," she cooed touching the baby's face, "need to eat. Just force it into her mouth and she should be good."

Annabeth did just that, and Silena started to eat. Apollo looked up at the clock in the room and said "It's 8:00. You guys should probably get your friends in here to meet them."

"He's right. You have quite a few people out there who would love to see their little faces," Artemis agreed. She walked to the door and opened it. She didn't have to walk down to the waiting room because right before her, stood Athena and Poseidon.

Percy's POV:

When his father and Athena walked in the room, Percy didn't know what to think of it. Poseidon was cool when he figured out about the babies, but Athena wanted nothing to do with them. That being said, he knew that Athena wouldn't let Poseidon go to see their grandchildren without her. Percy cradled Luke closer to his chest (yes he put his shirt back on) and noticed Annabeth did the same with Silena. She looked down at the baby in her arms, who was happily nursing with her eyes closed. There were now 4 gods in the room, and Percy didn't entirely trust that while his infant children were so helpless and weak. Poseidon was the first to speak.

"Annabeth dear, how are you feeling?" He asked her. Annabeth smiled back at him. Poseidon favored Annabeth because she looked out for Percy, and kept him in check.

"I am well, my Lord. Thank you for asking," She responded.

"No need for formalities," Poseidon said. He looked over at Percy. "How are you, my son?"

"Tired but happy," Percy answered looking down at Luke.

"May I... hold one of my grandchildren?" He asked. Percy nodded and passed Luke to his own father. He smiled down at the sleeping baby in his arms and murmured an ancient blessing over him. He touched the baby's forehead at the end of it, and Luke opened his eyes. He started to whimper and Poseidon rocked him back and forth, calming him instantly. He spoke again, "he looks like a perfect mix of the two of you."

Percy couldn't agree more. Luke had blonde hair with his sea green eyes. He had Annabeth's nose and Percy's mouth, with his smile.

Athena looked over at Silena longingly in her daughter's arms, who was now done nursing. She looked at Luke, then back to Silena. Finally, Athena looked at her daughter and whispered, "May I..."

Annabeth sucked in a breath next to Percy, she didn't look at her mother. Percy sighed and leaned over to his wife. He kissed her cheek and looked into her eyes. She seemed unsure, but Percy nodded lightly to her. Annabeth shifted uncomfortably and stared at the ground. Apollo and Artemis took that as a queue to leave.

"I'll go inform the others about the twins," Artemis stated. She hugged both of them and kissed the babies on their foreheads. Apollo did the same and closed the door behind them.

"Look," Athena ventured. "I know I haven't always been the most supportive mother you always hoped for, and I haven't been the most approving of your marriage-"

"You've never approved," Annabeth snapped, glaring at her mother. Percy took her hand again, and she relaxed a little bit.

"Annabeth, I'm... I'm sorry. I was worried you two would end up like Poseidon and I. I see now that I was wrong, and if you are happy... then I can live with that." Athena walked over to the other side of Annabeth's bed and sat down. Annabeth finally looked up at her mother, grey eyes meeting grey. Athena kissed her daughter's forehead. "I'm very pleased with you, Annabeth. I couldn't have asked for a smarter, kinder, braver daughter."

Athena hugged Annabeth. For a moment, Annabeth just sat there, and then she hugged her back (as best she could while holding her own child). The goddess spoke again softly, "Now, may I..."

Annabeth pulled back and handed her mother Silena.

"Yes, you may."

Thalia's POV:

Thalia sat in the waiting room for about 20 minutes before her brother walked in the door. Next to him was a very sleepy Piper, who was still wrapped in a blanket. It was only 6:30am, so she understood Piper's state. Jason grinned and ran over to her.

"How you doing, sis?" He asked her after giving her a hug. She hadn't seen him for a few months.

"I'm good, how are you guys holding up?" She grinned.

Piper answered for them. "We are doing great, Thalia," She said, giving a tired smile. Thalia had been the first to know about Jason's plan to propose. He had IMed her asking for advice. She still didn't get why he asked her of all people, she was a hunter!

They talked about the wedding plans for a little while, but were interrupted by a distant scream down the hall. They all froze and looked in the direction it came from. Piper was the first to break the silence.

"Jason?" she started.

"...Yes?" he responded.

"I don't want kids."

He and Thalia laughed at Piper's mortified expression. Thalia agreed with her though. She silently thanked the gods she was a hunter.

After about ten minutes, the rest of the seven and their other friends had arrived. Thalia chatted with Reyna, catching up with her. She looked around the room. Jason, Piper, and Leo were whispering to each other. Calypso, Hazel, and Katie were talking about some new recipe they found. Nico was asleep in a chair, which left Clarisse, Chris, Travis, Connor, and Frank who were talking about land mines. Grover and Juniper weren't there yet. Thalia and Reyna hopped around to conversations, seeing how everyone was doing.

At roughly 6:40, two people rushed through the doors and sprinted down the hallway. The man had golden blonde hair with a clean white lab coat on. The woman was in dark scrubs and had her dark hair pulled up high. The room was silent for a second as they watched them run down the hallway.

Leo broke the silence. "Was that-"

"Apollo," Chris.

"And Artemis," Piper.

"Why are they here?" Hazel.

"Like we'd know," Frank.

"Probably for Annabeth," Thalia. Everyone turned to her. "What? Artemis came here with me, but she didn't look like that. I heard her IMing someone earlier and heard words like 'danger, owe them, tiny, pain, hurry.' It was probably her calling Apollo if I had to guess."

"But why Artemis?" Travis.

"She's the goddess of childbirth, stupid," Katie.

"No shit," Clarisse.

They continued talking for another hour before Will Solace came in. Grover and Juniper were there, and Nico was awake by now, and smiled at him as he walked over to the group. They watched as the two boys exchanged hugs and a kiss, earning a sigh from Piper. Thalia stood up and went over to Will. "Is everything okay?" she asked nervously.

Will let out a sigh and sat down in the nearest chair. Thalia pursed her lips, fearing the worst. What happened? Was Annabeth okay? Are the babies okay? Everyone else went silent, waiting for Will to speak. Finally he did.

"They are all good. The second baby was breech and had to be turned but thankfully, my father and Lady Artemis came in and helped. The second baby also wasn't breathing when they were born but Apollo fixed it."

Almost everyone in the room let out a relieved sigh.

"What are the genders?" Reyna questioned.

"First baby is a boy, the second a girl."

"Is Annabeth okay?" Thalia couldn't help herself, she had to know.

"Annabeth is... okay. Poor girl is probably scarred from the experience but she's not hurt. She did have to get a lot of stitches though," Will explained.

"How did Percy do?" Grover asked.

"Percy was really helpful actually. Normally people like him would pass out from the disturbing images but he stayed by Annabeth and held her hand. He also took the second baby after she started breathing," He answered.

"What are their names?" Calypso.

"Don't know," Will stated. "I came here to see you guys and then get the birth certificates. Speaking of, I need to go." And Will jogged back down the hallway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About an hour later, Apollo and Artemis came to join them. Everyone stood and bowed to them. "Can we see them?" Thalia spat. She couldn't help it. Artemis smiled.
"In a little bit, dear," She said. "Athena and Poseidon are there now-"
"And it's kind of a shit show so I wouldn't want to go in quite yet if I were you," Apollo interrupted.
"Oh, Okay," She whispered. Artemis walked over to her and the two were having a small conversation. After a little while, Artemis closed her eyes and concentrated. She opened her eyes again and grinned at Thalia.
"I think we can go see them now," She said to Thalia. Thalia jumped up so fast she gave herself vertigo. Artemis smirked at her and stood up as well. She looked over at Grover, "Would you like to join us too? After all, you two are the godparents of them."
Grover let out a nervous bleat, and then stood up to join them. Together, Thalia, Grover, Artemis, and Apollo all walked down to the room. Thalia opened the door and peeped inside.
Annabeth sat on the bed, cradling a small baby. Next to her, Percy sat in a chair holding an even smaller baby. They were talking to Athena and Poseidon, who sat in two more chairs on the other side of the room. Apollo of course, had to be the one to make their presence known.
"We're back! And we brought friends!" He shouted, strutting through the door. Artemis rolled her eyes and slapped him upside the head. Thalia and Grover walked through the door behind them.
"Hey," Thalia whispered cautiously to Annabeth. She smiled in return.
"Hey Thals," she murmured back. It was obvious she was trying to keep the baby in her arms asleep. Percy stood up and man-hugged Grover as best he could with the other baby in his right arm. He turned to Thalia and hugged her as well.
"How you doing, Pinecone Face?" He asked, giving that stupid grin he always had.
She ignored it. "I should be asking you that."
Annabeth spoke behind them. "Thals come here."
Thalia walked over to her and sat on the side of the bed. The four olympians sat in the back having their own conversation. She put her arms out to Annabeth, silently asking to hold him. Annabeth placed the baby in her arms, and Thalia held him close. "What's his name?" She asked.
"Luke Charles Jackson."
Thalia froze. She didn't mean to, but she started crying at that. Luke had meant so much to Annabeth and her. Annabeth saw her face and hugged her for a minute. After that, Percy sat her up and hugged her too as she cried into his shirt, holding baby Luke. Under normal circumstances, Thalia would never let Percy hug her, but this was different. Grover stood behind her, holding the other baby. She walked over to him so she could get a good look at the girl.
"What's her name?" she sniffled.
"Silena Zoë Jackson," Percy responded.
Thalia let out a small laugh. She knew that that must have meant a lot to Lady Artemis. When she spoke though, she said "Clarisse is gonna like that one."
"I... I didn't think about that," Annabeth said. "I guess you're right though."
She switched with Grover so she now held Silena. She looked just like Percy. She had Annabeth's eyes, but that was it. Everything else was all his. She had a cute face with dark hair to match it. They talked for a little bit longer, before the four gods announced they had to get back to Olympus. Before they left, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, and Artemis all kissed the children. Athena and Poseidon gave them their blessings, before leaving in a flash of golden light.
Annabeth's POV:
After the gods left, the rest of their friends crowded into the room. They all took chairs around the room, sat at the end of her bed, sat in their boyfriend's laps, or sat on the floor (which Annabeth found disgusting).
"Damn Jackson," Leo said. "You got your babies kissed by four gods and blessed by two, they might as well be immortal."
Calypso and Piper smacked him in the arm. The babies were passed around the room and all the girls cooed and gushed over them.
"What's their names?" Hazel asked.
"Silena Zoë and Luke Charles Jackson," Percy answered. Clarisse just so happened to be holding Silena when that was said and gave a light hearted sigh, hugging the baby close to her chest, rocking her back and forth. Chris laughed at this.
"I think we found her only weak spot," Chris smiled.
"Shut up," she whispered, still hugging the baby. The rest of them laughed at the scene. Luke was passed from Jason to Piper, who gave a short huff.
"Jason?"
"Yes Piper?"
"I changed my mind, I want one."
Thalia laughed next to her. Jason blushed in embarrassment. Percy sat next to her in bed, and leaned down to kiss her. She smiled, kissing him back, After a little while Leo let out his classic wolf whistle, causing more laughter. Annabeth couldn't have been happier in the moment, her husband next to her, her babies now present, and all her friends around them. It gave Annabeth a small bit of hope that maybe things were getting better from here.
