Nova went through the forest, building a mental map in his head as he went.

He went into the forest, away from the town wall and out of sight from the guards, before turning left, and doing a big loop around to the front gate, and hopefully meet up with SolarSparkle/Rachel, although she might be in the magic training grounds, inside town.

Nova ran into his first "hurdle": a slime.

Nova decided that this would be a good chance to practice fist fighting, which could become one of several aces up his sleeves.

He punched the slime. Slimes have a good physical defence, so using magic would have probably been a better option, but because both Nova didn't have any affordable magic spells (Oblivion currently cost 971 mana based on hp, or 132'000 mana based on enemies, both of which exceed his 20-mana supply), and Nova's plan was to get some physical skills anyway, he decided to punch it.

The slime was knocked back a bit, and responded with a bounce, attacking Nova again.

Nova punched it again, knocking it back, and followed up with a kick, and three more punches.

The slime, with about a quarter of its health gone (Nova was that weak), responded with its faithful bounce. This time, Nova punched it as fast as he could. 1, times!

[Skill Learned] Flurry of Fists (Berserker)
A series of rapid punches hits a single enemy 2-5 times, with a chance to stun the enemy on the 5th hit.

That was one of the Acted Berserker skills that Nova was aiming for, although it is quite basic. Most Berserkers learnt it early on, due to its simple learning requirements of repeatedly punching an enemy. Berserkers were one of the brawnier classes. Although they are more focused on as much damage output as possible, they have lots of health due to their strength.

The slime attacked Nova again, so he responded with another classic move: dragging his fingers across the slimes body, although he took some damage from the slime this time.

A basic attack move. Rare chance to cause bleeding.

Nova then decided to get the third Berserker skill he wanted. He let the slime attack him, until his health was in the red zone, then yelled, using a flurry of fists to kill the slime.

[Skill Learned]: Enrage (Berserker)
When low on health, gives a boost of attack damage and speed, and recovers some health. Reduces wisdom.

[Class Unlocked]: Berserker
Berserkers are a wild bunch, who settle things with their fists. They are heavy hitters, but not too big in the brain. Increased damage of Berserker moves.

Third skill learned, one slime killed, and an opportunity to switch to a Berserker, which Nova skipped. The itself slime dropped 2 pieces of goo, and 10 XP.

Nova continued on his way and came across a second slime. Nova took out his starting weapon, which for normal players was some sort of low-damage weapon specific to that class, like a shoddy sword for knights or a dagger for assassins. SolarSparkle's was a basic wand.

Nova's starting weapon was a stick.

Brandishing it like a sword, he swung it at the oncoming slime.

A cut with a sword. A rare chance to cause bleeding.

Nova learned the knight's basic move, Slash. It was basically the same as the Berserker's one, except it requires a weapon, deals slightly more damage (from the weapon), and the bleeding chance is marginally higher.

That was the only knight's skill Nova could learn from slimes, as the others required a humanoid form to fight against.

Nova swiftly killed the second slime with more slashes, building muscle memory for the slashes. Another 2 goo, and 10 more XP.

Nova continued, killing the slimes with slash, until he broke his stick, whence, he continued with flurries of fists. He amassed a total of 21 goo and 620 XP. With a small supply of goo, the next thing in his plan was flowers.
