Set up
(Gladion's point of view)
Mother went to see (y/n) off, but I was denied that privilege. All I was allowed to give was a simple "goodbye." Lillie dragged me off to my room. "So, Gladion... Big brother didn't do anything naughty whole we were gone?" Lillie asked in a teasing voice. I shook my head. "But do you like her?" We entered my room and I sat down on my bed. "As a friend," I replied. Lillie wore a large grin. "You know that's not true. You're sweet, but you're as nice to (y/n) as you are me and mother. You aren't even that nice to Hau, who is your friend." She pressed on.
I went red once more and adverted my gaze. Lillie pulled a picture up on her phone and held it in front of me. It was me hugging her in the elevator. Why must we have cameras everywhere? It's not that nesessary. "You wouldn't do that to just anybody. In fact, you barely hug us." I don't like (y/n). She's my rival. I don't wear this necklace because I like her or something, it's because it's good luck. She's my rival... nothing less... plenty more... An unconscious smile formed on my face. "You're thinking about her right now, aren't you?" Lillie teased.
I snapped back to reality and glared at my sister. "I don't like her that way," I reaffirmed. "Tell me everything you like and don't like about her," Lillie demanded. I rolled my eyes. "She's a lot of fun, amusing, strong, reliable, caring, kind... I can't really say there's a lot I don't like," I responded. A massive smirk was plastered on Lillie's face. Crap. I shouldn't have said that. What have I gotten myself into? "See? You know you like her," she told me. She stood up to leave the room. Before exiting, she turned back and faced me. "By the way, we arranged a day of activities for you two. It ends with a nice date. It's next Wednesday and you're picking her up. Don't forget! And tell her how you feel!" Lillie added before running down the hallway. Well... in short... I'm screwed.
(Your point of view)
Lillie dragged her brother of somewhere, so all he managed to say was "goodbye." I sighed and walked with Lusamine to the exit of the Aether foundation. Before I called my Charziard, she tapped me on the shoulder. A smile was on her face. Please don't tell me we're having that talk she wanted... "So... (y/n)... did my ray of sunshine get lucky while I way away?" Lusamine inquired. Oh Arceus. Why would you go there? I shook my head vigorously. "No no! Not at all. We're just friends. Honest," I replied, my voice traced with panic. "Aw. That's a shame. For the both of you," Lusamine commented. A shame!? A shame!? Do you want your son to- I won't go there.
"But do you have a crush on him?" She pressed on. "I mean no offence, Lusamine, but it's really awkward discussing that with their mother." I told her. Her smile was heart warming. "Just pretend I'm your mum then. Won't be as hard. You'd be a lovely daughter-in-law..." she told me. Wait... you're encouraging this? "Well, I can't say I will lie. I do have a tiny crush on him. Very tiny. Petit," I whispered. Lusamine squealed with joy. "We're pretty certain he likes you back," Lusamine said. A faint smile formed on my face.
"And because of that... me and Lillie took it upon ourselves to arrange a little something for you two. Lillie is working on getting Gladion to confess." Lusamine paused for a moment. What did you two do? You're going to ruin everything. Things were fine the way they were! Please don't force this upon us. "First, you'll do double battles at the battle tree. After that, go watch a movie and then relax at the beach. In the evening, you'll go on a nice, relaxed date. It's on Wednesday. Gladion will pick you up," Lusamine explained. Wait. What? You arranged a date for us? Between your son and somewhere that is only your mere acquaintance? I barely know you, Lusamine! No matter. There's no backing out now. Looks like I'm rolling with it.
