The rescue. Friday night.

I was shocked and I needed to act fast.
-Hi Josh! You came!
It was that or still look at him like a complete idiot. He didn't kiss me on the lips, but he was so closed to. My cheeks were ending by being glued to his mouth.
He smiled.
-Yeah, Alex wanted to see V so much. I think they had a fight or something.
-As always- I said, looking at Alex. He was pale but he definitely wanted to make things up with Veronica. She seemed to be really angry.
-So, Josh... Are you going to the party?
-No, no. Mom didn't gave us permission, mostly because of Alex. He got the flu.
And then he laughed. It is just me, or he looks even cuter in the dark light of the night?
-You are going?
-Got no choice. Lara wants to go a lot and I don't want to be alone.
-Lara is dating Chris, but I'm sure you already knew that.
-Yes, but don't worry. I found that out TODAY- and we both laughed.
-Me too! And by the way, did you come over to school today? I mean, I know it was your last day with your mom, but I might have seen you in Lara's car.
And my heart was all melted.
-Yes, I went! I saw you chatting with Christopher, but when I was about to get off the car, Lara just came in.
-Well young lady, let me tell you this: two seconds before she got in the car, she was kissing my dear friend very passionately. 
-You are so disgusting, Joshua Stone!
-Oh, am I, Anne Cecile?
And he smiled at me, looking me deeply in the eyes. Gosh, I wonder how deeply he will...
-Guys! Why on Earth aren't you taking some pictures?
-How well are those hamburgers sale going, Flavia?
She was embarrassing me.
-Would you mind?- asked Josh. He grabbed me by my shoulders and pulled me next to him, smiling at the camera. Flavia was mid smiling, mid laughing. I guess this was all Veronica's idea, because suddenly she was there, laughing too, and Alex behind her.
Flavia took 3 pictures, in where Joshua was smiling in such a cute way. My face looked pretty. Pretty NERVOUS. He asked Flavia to send him the pictures. My heart was beating so fast.
Let's take a break from here. Like what the fuck? This morning I was about to cry because my mom went to Spain, away from me, and she wouldn't come til October or November. After that, I had to get used to the idea of living with my father all alone, and then I have to survive under the circumstances that Julian put me in by sending me a text, exactly TWO months after we broke up. It just wasn't funny. Later on, I have to deal with the whole Josh-Julian-Josh thing, to get prepared for this stupid event just to see Joshua, to finally realize he wasn't coming because his stupid brother was sick or is sick (who cares?), at the end he CAME because some fight between Alex and V. And now we have just taken a picture together. My mind is going crazy. And this is not done yet, I have some party to attend after this.
-You guys look so cute together!- said Dalia, the top girl in our class. I mean thanks to that woman, I am not failing my tests.
-You know, my whole course knows about you- said Joshua in a low voice.
-Really? But why?
-Things with her weren't going well. They all knew how she was being with me, and they all know that you are a shy but really smart girl. Actually, Alex took over of it. 
I laughed a little.
-Your brother is such a mess.
-He tries to not be it anymore. For Veronica. He really loves her.
-I don't even talk to your classmates. It is weird. You know, I never hang out with someone from my own group of friends, like school or, something. And to be honest, I am not shy at all.
-What? Of course you are!
-No. I just never wanted to be talkative here. At the new school.
-You miss your old friends?
And I nodded.
-We have to hang out, sometime, out of school- I said.
He just smiled at me, and said that I must try his home-made pizza. We were there, talking and laughing about everything. Until his mom called him, everything just seemed to be right, fine.
What if he is, let's say, my next love?
Gosh, I'm rushing things. Anne, calm down. We just talked, and got 3 pictures together. He is not my soulmate just because of that.
In a silver-colored car, Josh and Alex's mom got here to pick them up.
-I'll text you later. Have fun at Oscar's, and remind me to send you the pictures.
He kissed me again, on the cheeks. I blushed, and he smiled.
-Bye Josh- I said. Alex kissed V and got to sit next to his mom. 
-Tomorrow morning I'm going to the church, if you want to come...
-I'll think about it- I said. As if. Thanks to Julian, I am an atheist. And not only that, but also the fact that I wasn't into evangelical Christianity. Only Catholicism baby.
-A pleasant time, huh?- asked Lara, teasing me.
-We talked a lot. He told me he was going to write me later.
-Guys! It went good! We earn more than 750 dollars!- screamed George, who was near Maya, and they all clapped. I didn't understand a thing until I remembered that we, as a class, were selling hamburgers. Hell, Joshua did know how to make me lost the track of time.
AND 750 DOLLARS? That is insane!
-Hey, let's go now!- said Lara, pulling me against her and making me run.
-What is your problem?
-Christopher is taking us to the party!
-But auntie...
-Relax, she is just going to pick us from there. I talked to her already.
They were celebrating while we were just going off to a party. It was already 10:30 p.m.
Christopher was waiting for us in his red velvet Jeep. What a masterpiece.
-Hey yo, Chris!
-How ya doin', Annie? It was a good talk over there?
I blushed.- Fuck off.
I looked at my phone, and I didn't have new messages. I guess that I was right about Julian. It might have been a bet. My mom might be flying over the ocean while her only daughter is just hanging out. I've been waiting for this in silence.
Lara was talking a lot with Chris, and I didn't listen a thing, I was so into my mind. Into the kisses that Josh gave me, it was so cute. I was afraid tho, rushing things or seeing stuff that are not there... Because I didn't want to tell Josh I saw him with his ex, and if they were talking might be for some good reason.
Without noticing, we were already in front of Oscar's house.
It was a small house but the yard was huge. Lara grabbed my arm and started to greet people there. Some were from school, but the others I had no idea. And our classmates started to arrive as well.
I tried to not criticize anything but I just couldn't. I mean what the hell was the music. And the beer was hot. And the cocktails were just so badly prepared.
My phone rang.
-Hello?
-I'm at home! How are you?
Joshua sounded so great on the phone.
-I'm just sitting here, next to Lara, drinking some hot beer and complaining about the music. It sucks.
-Would you rather be somewhere else?
That question sounded interesting.
-Well, I guess so- I played.
-Where do you wanna be?
-Rome sounds perfect to me- I laughed.
-Wait for me. Don't move.
And he hang up.
