When I woke up Raphael was gone. I looked around but the whole room was empty. I decided to stand up and search for him. After a while I found him in a kitchen. I didn't even know that vampires needed a kitchen. He still had no shirt on. I liked what I saw and smiled.

Raphael: "Did you have a good sleep, princesa?"

Freja: "Raphael, stop calling me that. What are you doing here?"

Raphael: "Cooking. It's for my sister."

Freja: "Rosa?"

Raphael: "Yes. She is not feeling so well. I really need to visit her more often as long as I can. Do you want to try? It's Posole. She always liked that."

I shook my head. I wasn't hungry anymore. Well, not that kind of hungry.

Raphael: "Blood is not going to be enough at some point. Don't forget that you are not fully a vampire."

Freja: "No, I don't forget about that. I'm a warlock, too."

Raphael: "And a werewolf, a faerie and a nephilim. No te olvides."

Freja: "I don't care about that. I'm a vampire with some magical abilities. That's enough for me."

Raphael looked proud. He smiled at me and interrupted his cooking. He came over to me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

Raphael: "Make yourself ready. We need to go. Magnus will be waiting for you and the sun is about to rise."

Half an hour later I was at Magnus apartment again. Today he seriously taught me to magically mix a cocktail.

Magnus: "Show that to you loverboy. He likes a good alcoholic drink from time to time."

Freja: "I don't have a lover..."

Magnus: "Do you think I am a fool? I know what's going on. Don't be ashamed for it. Love is something beautiful and it comes unexpected. Stand up for it."

Freja: "I just never thought that love would come for me."

Magnus: "Why shouldn't it?"

Freja: "Why should it?"

Magnus: "My dear sweetheart, you are an amazing person. You are caring for the ones you love, you have a temper, an attitude that no one else has. There is a fire burning in your soul. Let it burn and not extinguish. You are better than you could imagine."

I just smiled.

Freja: "Magnus, please, teach me how to make a portal. I need to know."

Magnus: "I'll teach you. But why? I want to know the reason. Where do you want to go?"

Freja: "Let me worry about that. I'll be save. I have my reasons. I'll come back. Just need to get something."

Magnus: "You don't want to tell. Well, fine. I don't think you can do it anyway. It took me a long time to learn and optimate it."

Freja: "Just please do it. I want to try."

Magnus: "Okay. You know what my bathroom looks like. Make a portal. Think about it."

I did what he told me. He grabbed my hand and raised it. The air in front of it flickered. Lights began to build up. I thought about the bathroom even more and closed my eyes.

Magnus POV:

Freja was concentrating. She did well. The air flickered like crazy in front of her hand. Colors started to form in front of her palm. They flew some inches, mixed and formed a circle. The circle became bigger and bigger. A child could come through it right now. Some moments later it was big enough for one person. More light came out of her palm. They looked like Northern lights. She opened her eyes. The portal was big enough now for two people.

Freja POV:

As I opened my eyes I could see the portal. I did it.

Freja: "Can I let go?"

Magnus: "Let go. We need to go through it quickly."

He let my hand sink and we went through it. An instant later we stood in Magnus bathroom. I looked at him and smiled.

Magnus: "How did you do that?"

Freja: "You taught me. You're a good teacher."

He hugged me tight and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Freja: " I want to try if I can reach hotel Dumort."

Magnus: "Yeah, we should try. Take me with you. I haven't been there since a while."

I tried again. Imagining the bedroom, raising my hand, closing my eyes, put all the effort in. Within some minutes I did it and we stepped through it. An instant later we were in Raphaels bedroom.

Magnus: "Haha you are amazing!"

I saw a sudden movement and Raphael was in the bedroom.

Raphael: "Who is there... Princesa? Magnus? Already done with your training?"

Magnus: "The training is done. Your princesa knows how to make portals. Do you have any cocktails?"

Raphael came towards me, lifted me up and gave me a kiss. I loved this man so much and I  didn't bother that Magnus was right behind us.

Magnus: "It fills me with joy to see you so happy, Raphael."

Raphael let me down again.

Raphael: "I appreciate it. Thank you, Magnus. Of course, we will find some alcohol for you. Tequila sunrise?"

Magnus: "Sounds good."

We ended up spending the day together. Raphael became tired. He obviously just stared at me the whole night while I was sleeping. What a handsome creep. So he decided to go to bed and Magnus left to go to Alec to the institute.

I trained myself in portals after I made sure Raphael was fully asleep. I made portals to certain unpopular spots in New York and also tried going further. I remembered some spots from the internet and from magazines in America. At some point I could reach other states like California and New Mexico. After hours of training I was exhausted. It took all my energy away. I showered and joined Raphael in the bed. I immediately fell asleep.

Some days later Raphael needed to leave for a mission. A vampire in New Orleans decided to kill some citizens and the leader of the clan there needed his help. He wanted to stay in New York and send one of  his followers but I talked him into going. It was his duty as a leader. Also some days alone would help me for my very own mission. As soon as he left I packed my backpack. I filled it with a rope, some blood and a little pickaxe. Then I created a portal. I never tried building one that led so far away so it took me some time but I did it. When it was fully build I went through it.

Cold. Snow. Pines. Forest. Mountains. I was back in Norway, on top of the Skardstind.
