— reader's notes:

• just started reading this one recently, and now i'm all caught up for whenever the next update is, what can i say? WOWOWOW

• first of all, i'm loving seeing a tribute from district six! it's quite possibly the first fic i've found on here (other than my own) featuring one as a main character, and felix delves into the lifestyle of district six with such consideration and fantastic world building. just how i'd imagined it to be myself!

• and don't even get me started on madaket reed... *sigh* she's very quickly becoming one of my favourite OCs by someone else on here, she's just written so superbly and you really feel how much she changes throughout the story. it's heartbreaking to witness but also gives me so much pride to see character development well executed. (and i could go on about a certain mentor figure for an eternity, but i'll save that for future readers to find out for themselves...)

• i will say though, if you're squeamish or faint of heart... beware when reading this book because HOLY MOLY, felix does not hold back and describes gore so vividly, so rawly that it literally gives me goosebumps to read. it just makes the horrors of the hunger game all the more real and it's like you are in madaket's shoes — it's immersive and the stuff of nightmares (i mean that in a good way because of the quality of writing!)

• keep up the good work, because this is amazing! can't wait to read more of madaket and the gang.
