He's that one kid in high school who's surrounded by girls and friends due to his looks— but that's the only reason people stay by him. That, and the fact that he's seemingly perfect. Good at everything and anything, except communication. He's rude, blunt and honest, and won't hesitate to tell it how it is without considering your feelings. His friends roll along with it since there are benefits to standing beside him. His real friends are the ones who keep him in check and scold him when he's wrong. He's very attracted to energetic people, and he'll smile to show it. That energy helps him forget about everything else.
He doesn't care about being the center of attention because it naturally comes to him, but even if it didn't he wouldn't mind. Chai is expected to be extraordinary, so when he isn't many people tend to be disappointed. And that disappointment /does/ bother Chai, and it's the reason why he keeps working hard to maintain the 'I'm perfect' image 'effortlessly.' Those top ranks and straight A's came with sweat and pain, but paid off in the end.
Other than all that, he actually has a big heart and is a huge softie— you just have to be the right person to bring it out in the right way.
He doesn't have many of those true friends that aren't with him for his money or reputation, sadly. I don't think you can consider what he has to be friends, rather people who want to use him. It doesn't bother him though. He doesn't care. Or at least— he pretends he doesn't care.

He plays sports but he doesn't care for it.
Oh! Photography! He /does/ like to take pictures. Both of nature and of humans, he likes looking for beauty and capturing it.

His Thai father, named Arthit and nicknamed Adam, and his French mother, named Aceline, both raised an only child.
(I'm going to take a moment to explain Thai names. You're given a first and last name, but a nickname provided by your parents. You're rarely addressed by your first name, and instead most use the nickname. Chai was given Kiet, but prefers Chai. )
He had a friend name Fon, meaning Rain in Thai, and she ended up becoming Chai's girlfriend. She cut the relationship before he moved to France, which will be explained in the Backstory shortly.

Originally born in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Chai later moved to Rennes, France, before finally moving to wherever this rp is taking place. Assuming America?

⇒ || Backstory ||
Chai grew up with a Thai father and a French mother— different from the rest of his purely Thai friends. His parents both met on the job in France, and Chai's dad convinced Aceline to come to Thailand with him. She ended up staying and picked up the Thai language after several years. Arthit has already learned French, so that was their main form of communication. As a result, Chai today is able to speak both French and Thai, and instead struggles with English. He had a simple childhood there and became close with the people around him. He met Fon, his closest friend until he moved.
Aceline and Arthit made a promise that they would spend time in Thailand and France. So it was time to  move to France, where Chai became more reserved. His French improved and he was able to piece together more English, adding to what he originally learned in Thailand. Then they moved to America, where his father found new work and where he would continue schooling.
