You loved the days where you could just do nothing but still be content with everything, the days where you didn't need to get out of bed or out of your pyjamas, the days that meant a lot of cuddles and pointless conversations that led nowhere.

Those days were rare, they didn't happen very often but when they did happen you always made the most of it.

Being in a relationship with someone that didn't mind it either meant a lot, it meant that the two of you could spend time together but doing nothing in particular.

It didn't matter about what the two of you did together, all that mattered was that you could spend time together and the two of you were content with each other's company.

During the beginning of your relationship with Bruce, there was little close contact – he didn't kiss you for the first month, only hugged you when absolutely necessary, never slept in the same bed as you until the two of you had been together for a couple of months.

It was hard, because you wanted to be close with him but you also understood his reason behind the whole staying away thing, and you were glad that you could work through it with him and make him comfortable bit by bit.

The two of you had been given an extremely rare day off, a day without work, colleagues and anything that wasn't just the two of you.

It was well past lunchtime and yet the both of you had opted for staying in bed.

Bruce had his arm locked around your waist, holding you close whilst you rested your head on his chest.

He softly pressed a kiss to the top of your head "Tell me a secret" you whispered, breaking the silence that had descended over him and you.

You looked up at him to see a confused expression on his face "What do you mean?" he questioned sounding confused to match his face.

"I want you to tell me a secret, something you've never told anyone before" you explained which caused him to smile.

He sighed and then his expression turned into one of affection "I have never been more content in my life than right in this moment" he softly told you.

You couldn't help but smile at his words, reaching up to kiss his cheek, "I make you happy then?" you questioned.

He chuckled "I guess you could say that" he stated in response "But more than anything you make me feel safe" he had a smile on his face whilst he talked.

You cuddled up to him further "You know that I am here for you if you ever need me, even if it's at like three in the morning and you have to wake me up" you explained.

"But you look so peaceful when you're sleeping" he countered with a smirk on his face.

You rolled your eyes and returned to resting your head on his chest "Then can we go back to sleep? 'Cause a nap sounds pretty good right about now" you suggested.

You felt him kiss the top of your head again but he pulled the covers further over the two of you "Anything for you Sweetheart"
