Two dual wielding PS2 era characters are now stepping into the ring. Which one of these inhuman clones to the protagonist will take the win?

Tails: Roxas, Organisation XIII's Keyblade dual wielding Nobody from Kingdom Hearts.

Luigi: And Axel, Red Alert's gun dual wielding Maverick Hunter from Mega Man X.

Luigi: What is our purpose in life? Few philosophical questions have been asked quite as much as this one. As people, we seek to know our place in the world and the part we play in the cogs of fate.

Luigi: But for these two, they would forge their own path. Because they looked at the numbers they rolled and said "fuck that shit I'm out." He's Tails and I'm Luigi.

Tails: And it's our job to analyze their weapons armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Roxas

Tails: Sora is without a doubt one of the most legendary swordsman in video game history.

Luigi: I mean dude's main weapon is literally a goddamn large key but hey if that key helps you save all worlds using light to fight darkness then I guess it's alright.

Tails: Throughout his time Sora would go on to fight the darkness again and again even if it means saving his friends.

Luigi: Which is actually what happened, in an effort to save his friend Kairi he did the one thing that nobody expected him to do: He stabbed himself. And the crazy part is it worked I dunno how it just works.

Tails: However unknown to Sora at the time this act of heroism would give rise to a shocking being called a Nobody someone without a heart and that same Nobody would eventually be given a name. His name was Roxas.

Luigi: Wait a second Tails rewind a little bit why you calling him a Nobody? He's clearly a somebody.

Tails: It's complicated but a Nobody is someone who is born without a heart, it's said that whenever a strong wielded person loses their heart to darkness it creates an entirely new being with someone without a heart.

Luigi: How the Hell does that work?

Tails: Well after Sora used Riku's Keyblade to stab himself to release Kairi, Sora became a Heartless physical living manifestations of the darkness within people's hearts, Kairi saved Sora my simply hugging him and restoring him in the process as a result of that two Nobodies were born, Kairi's Nobody, Namine and Sora's Nobody Roxas.

Luigi: Dear God the series is so confusing.

Tails: Sorry tell you that but that's Kingdom Hearts lore for you. Anyways despite well... being born yesterday, Roxas quickly got shown the ropes and became a relied upon part of an organization of a group of Nobodies. This was Organization XIII lead by Xehanort's Nobody, Xemnas.

Luigi: Organization XIII? Really? They couldn't come up with a better villain organization name? Whatever. See, Organisation XIII's goal was to collect Hearts (basically, think of them like human souls), and feed them to Kingdom Hearts: the Heart of all worlds, in order to gain back their humanity with the ultimate powers of the entire verse Kingdom Hearts. Too bad they don't have the tools to do it.

Tails: However that wasn't the case with Roxas due to being Sora's Nobody, Roxas was able to weld the Keyblade.

Luigi: This house key may look silly but appearances can be deceiving this thing can do all kinds of magic tricks most Keyblade Welders can sure they can unlocking doors and swings swords really fast but they have tons of crazy magic like shoot fireballs, splash people with water, control gravity, summon ice, create vortexes, stop time, teleport, reflect attacks, shoot lightning, blow wind, create forcefields, shoot beams of light and many MANY more.

Tails: But should Roxas lose the Keyblade he can always immediately summon it back to his hand without difficulty simply by using his Heart.

Luigi: Roxas had a great time in the Organization XIII but that didn't last long.

Tails: Roxas did eventually make two friends Axel and Xion despite their dynamic circumstances ultimately lead to tragedy. After Sora had his memories tempered with and was placed into a sleep by Kairi's Nobody, Namine, Roxas ended up actually having an effect on him, causing him not only to experience the life of his second self up to that point, but making him question who he is and what the Organisation's true motives are.

Luigi: Too bad the Organization didn't bother to give him answers even Axel kept his mouth shut. And to add more insult to injury Xion turns out to be a clone of Roxas should he fail. Damn that's kind of sad.

Tails: Even more sad is Xion forced Roxas to fight her so he could strike her down as a result she not only returned to Sora but she lost her memories.

Luigi: (sniffs) That poor girl..... Why does the world have to be so cruel.

Tails: As a result of Xion's demise Roxas gained not one, but two Keyblades he can wield simultaneously: Oathkeeper and Oblivion.

Luigi: With these two, not only does Roxas hit like a truck with the agility to match, but he can use them for all sorts of fancy sword techniques.

Tails: He can create a cyclone of sword slashes with Dual Slash, fling both blades like a boomerang with Dual Arcanum, turn himself into a living buzzsaw with Hurricane Blast or slice foes to ribbons with Event Horizon.

Luigi: But the real showstopper is his light magic. He can fire Spot Beams just by swinging his Keyblade, which he can use for ranged combat or even to surround himself in them for defense. Or he can just have them rain! Damn you would think he'd be mad at the world right now.

Tails: But his greatest technique is Magic Hour, a barrage of holy energy orbs that home in on target for massive damage.

Luigi: With all these he's done some incredible insane stuff at one point his Heart was able to travel all the way from Keyblade Graveyard to Radiant Garden and back in less than a second.

Tails: He's held up against powerful opponents like Riku, Xion, Xemnas, Saïx, Axel, and even Sora himself.

Luigi: Sora would go on to battle Xehanort with hi complete X-Blade which he used to open Kingdom Hearts and transcend all reality.

Tails: Upon realizing he was a pawn to the Organization's true schemes Roxas attempts to use Kingdom Hearts to bring Xion back.

Luigi: Too bad he wasn't prepared for Riku to show up and kick his ass and is knocked out as a result.

Tails: But Roxas would eventually regain his memories and return to Sora allowing him to wake up.

Luigi: And then he spent most of his time as a heart until they found him a vessel for his heart to be placed back into which incidentally caused zero side effects to Sora, not sure why that make sense but hey at least he's reunited with his friends Axel and Xion.

Tails: Roxas would them go on to assist Sora and the rest of the Guardians of Light to put an end to Xehanort's plans once and for all.

Luigi: I guess the lesson of the story is he may have been a Nobody but after his journey he is now a somebody... or something.

Tails: Don't try and lose yourself Luigi.

Roxas: There was one last thing I needed in order for me to be whole again. A connection. Sora helped me find my way back here...to my friends.

Axl

Tails: In the year 21XX the age of robotics changed forever after a discovery of a sleeping blue android hidden deep within a ruined laboratory. Unlike the previous model, this android possessed free will, indistinguishable from a human's. This wasn't Mega Man. This was Mega Man X.

Luigi: This guy was built by the late Dr. Light to be the successor to the original Mega Man we all know and loved.

Tails: Because of X's programing Dr. Cain did a mass replication of X and as a result doesn't of androids started and they became Reploids who were mass-produced and used at all levels of society.

Luigi: You would think that the world is at peace because of it but nope that's not what happened. Many of these Reploid robots went Maverick, and embroiled the world in centuries-long warfare. So to combat this, the Maverick Hunters were born: a group of peacekeeping robots tasked with putting a stop to these Mavericks through any means necessary.

Tails: But the Maverick Hunters aren't the only organization dedicated themselves to fighting Mavericks there was another organization that does this as well called the Red Alert and one of it's members Axl.

Luigi: Axl? Huh man we really having a good time with two people of the same name even though one of them as an E in their name.

Tails: Not much is known about Axl's origins. What is known is that much of Axl's life was spent with Red Alert and hunted Mavericks for a good price.

Luigi: Sounds good on paper the problem is Red Alert's actions weren't so very... humane.

Tails: Right you see Red Alert's methods of stopping Mavericks involve illegal actions murdering anyone who stood in their way thus they were labeled as Mavericks by the actual Maverick Hunters.

Luigi: Axl was basically the one guy who participated in their group's methods and got hunted by them so he bounced. And then he met Zero who arrested him and took him into custody for questioning.

Tails: While in the Maverick Hunters' custody, they would receive a message from Red Alert's leader... well, Red....

Luigi: Talk about an creative name.

Tails: Challenged them to take on the Mavericks Red Alert had taken captive in a game to decide who would take Axl under their wing.

Luigi: Obviously feeling guilty of this Axl decided to team up with X and Zero to take down Red Alert. And he has the right weapons to do so like his dual wielding guns the Axl Bullets which can fire off several rapid shots at any angle.

Tails: He also has several blasters at his disposal some of which can lock on to multiple targets at once, shoot of explosive bursts, and shoot lasers.

Luigi: But he wouldn't be a true Mega Man without the ability to scan and copy other robots weaponry.

Tails: He's copied doesn't of weapons that can control fire, ice, plasma, tornadoes, and water as well as missiles, shields, bombs, and slashes.

Luigi: But what's perhaps his greatest ability the A-Trans. With this, Axl can absorb the DNA of fallen Reploids in order to take their shape and properties. Not sure how robots can copy DNA but sure okay.

Tails: Axl assisted the Maverick Hunters into battling Red Alert until they realized they've been tricked.

Luigi: Yeah Turns out Red Alert was manipulated by X and Zero's long time nemesis Sigma, who tricked Red into feeding the other Red Alert members the DNA data that Axl absorbed, which just made them prime targets for the Sigma Virus to turn them into Mavericks.

Tails: Red tried to let Axl off the hook to get away from their evergrowing evil deeds but through Sigma's blackmailing and his generals' corruption, his hand was forced to try and take Axl back so Sigma could further destroy the family he once knew.

Luigi: Damn I didn't know the X era could get this dark.

Tails: Well as Red would soon discover, Axl was far stronger than the naive runt of the litter he seemed to be. Alongside the Maverick Hunters, they stopped not only Red but Sigma too, bringing an end to his evil antics once more- forging a stronger bond between his new family.

Luigi: And he's been through thick and thin with his new family, Axl can scale to fellow Maverick Hunters like Zero who can destroy a meteors, as well as Mavericks that can destroy planets. Hell X once generated enough energy that annihilated all of Japan. Suck it Godzilla.

Tails: Reploids like X, Zero, and Axl are made to be superior versions like the classic era Mega Man. Mega Man has been able to travel across several star systems and dodge Wily's lasers which can travel at speeds 2,029 times faster than light, and even defeated Sunstar who had more than enough power to destroy the Wily Star.

Luigi: Hell Mega Man fought one of the Robot Masters called Astro Man who can who can create a separate dimension with the cosmic space. And that's the type of shit Axl should be WAY above.

Axl: Just the thought of wiping the floor with those mavericks makes my trigger finger itch.

Tails: Alright the combatants are set and we've run the data on all possibilities.

Luigi: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!!!!

Mission Unlocked

(*Cues: Cross My Heart*)

We see a shot of Twilight Town of the sunset as we see Sora's Nobody, Roxas sitting on the building where he usually sits at eating his favorite sea salt ice cream when he hears a technology sound effect. He looks to his left and he sees the Maverick Hunter himself, Axl who comes to great him.

Axl: Hey there, the name's Axl, member of the peacekeeping Maverick Hunters.

Roxas: Axl, huh? I had friend who calls himself Axel.

Axl then chuckles a bit before stating his intentions.

Axl: That's great. Anyways we've been receiving reports that something dangerous is off about you. So make this easy and come with me so I can take you into custody.

Roxas makes a glare clearly telling Axl he's not cooperating.

Roxas: How about no.

Axl sighs before pulling out his Axl Bullets.

Axl: Alright suit yourself then.

As he the Reploid fires some shots Roxas immediately summons his two Keyblades Oathkeeper and Oblivion. The Nobody runs towards his foe preparing for a strike but Axl prepares to charge up a shot. We cut to the next shot of the building and we see an explosion we zoom into the fight and we see Roxas stunned by Axl's attack but manages to recover in midair and lands on the ground with his feet with Axl following shortly afterwards.

Roxas: Okay you're pretty tough but not tough enough!

The former Organization XIII member fires some magic blasts at the former Red Alert member forcing the latter to retreat behind a building before retaliating with his Ray Guns firing lasers. Roxas dodges and gets in close with Axl doing the same. The two dual welders charge at each other while yelling at the top of their lungs the clash attacks. Sora's Nobody then floats in the air with Axl slowly following him.

Axl: You're not going anywhere!

He then uses his Sniper Missiles and fires a lot of shots at his opponent. Roxas however manages to dodge them and responds by using nonverbal spells something that Axl manages to dodges however Roxas teleports behind him and charges something with his two Keyblades.

Axl: Oh crap!

The Guardian of Light shoots a double Keyblade Beam from both of his Keyblades sending the Maverick Hunter flying in the process. Axl continues to get pushed away until he reaches the other side of Twilight Town and crash lands in an open field. Roxas teleports to the field and searches for his opponent in the smoke.

Roxas: Where did he go?

As he searches he notices a light behind him. That light is revealed to be Axl charging up his guns and fires a laser blast at Roxas in retaliation for the Keyblade Welder's early attack. Roxas manages to block it with his shield but is launched into the sky and then a shiny light brightens into the sky much to Axl's shock.

Axl: Still more?

Roxas covers his entire body with light and creates a light armor. The two dual wielding users charge at each other and clash for the next 3 minutes clashing magic and weapons eventually during the during the fight Roxas uses the 13 Beams to knock Axl back. After enough clashing Axl charges up his guns one last time to finish this.

Axl: It's time to end this!

Roxas: You've said it!

Roxas responds by charging up his Keyblades and pointing them at Axl. The two combatants charge up attacks while yelling. They fire beams.  Ultimately Roxas wins the beam struggle and hits Axl in the chest. Roxas then summons beams of light all of which hit Axl on all sides as the Reploid lets out one last scream before being blasted into pieces. The remains of X and Zero's partner land on the grass next to the trees as Roxas looks on from the sky at his robotic opponent.

Roxas: (sighs) Apologies.

After one last look at Axl's remains, Roxas flies away from the scene heading back to Twilight Town.

Luigi: Oh boy I don't think X and Zero are gonna be too happy at this outcome.

Tails: Axl may have had more combat experience but Roxas had more than enough tools needing to claim his victory.

Luigi: For starters Axl could counter against some of Roxas's magic but he couldn't defend against stuff like gravity powers, warping, and time manipulation powers.

Quick heads up: While X and Zero have shown that they can defend against many of the magic Roxas has including time stoping resistance there's no evidence that suggest Axl can do the same.

Tails: Not to mention Roxas can just simply overwhelm Axl, while magic may be limited just like the weapons in Mega Man, it can still be replenished far faster than Axl's weapons and thanks to his overwhelming arsenal of light and darkness abilities, this means Roxas can fight on indefinitely.

Luigi: But he didn't just lose because superior abilities, he really couldn't keep up with the Nobody.

Tails: Even if we compare Axl to classic eras like Mega Man who was able to move around 2,029 times the speed of light is nothing compared to Roxas traveling across several star systems which at best is 799,038,431 times FTL. This puts Roxas over 390,727 times faster than Mega Man's own feat.

Quick heads up: While characters from the X and Zero era have shown to have calculated far faster feats than in the Classic era, several Keyblade Welders have shown to be FAR faster than that.

Luigi: With that big of speed difference means, Axl has a really hard time trying to land some really meaningful hits in and would not be able to react in time to avoid a hit from Roxas. But even if he could keep up with him, he couldn't match him in power.

Tails: Even if we take the statement that robot masters like Astro Man could control dimensions by creating a virtual cosmic space this would place Axl around universal at best maybe higher.

Luigi: Meanwhile Roxas scales to Keyblade Welders like Sora who battled Xehanort with the X-Blade who can transcend all of reality at a infinite multiversal scale. That's a level of power beyond anything we've seen in Mega Man in any of the eras.

Tails: Axl was never going to give up easy but Roxas's raw power, speed, and incredible magic abilities earned him the win.

Luigi: Roxas damn sure Axled the guy ti oblivion.

Tails: The winner is Roxas.
