"WHOSE ENGAGEMENT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? AND HOW COME I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT?"

Everyone turned to look at the person, while the Dixit family were surprised to see the person the Bose family were clueless as they did know the person. Along with the person there stood a girl who seemed familiar to Dev and Avni as they looked at each other wondering where they saw the girl and right at the same time it clicked to both where they had seen her. It was Dev who was first to react.

"Ranveer, how come you forgot the way to our home after so many days?" he spoke to the person who was none other than Ranveer who was visiting the Dixit house after two months, sarcasm was dripping from Dev's voice, he was upset that his childhood friend was visiting them after so many days.

"And what's Ms.Neha Bisht doing with you?" asked Avni looking at the girl who had accompanied Ranveer, the girl was none other than Neha, the same girl who along with her friend Natasha had helped Dev and Avni solve the fiasco that had occurred at the Airlines a couple of months ago.

Ranveer gave them a sheepish smile as he fumbled "Actually...Actually she's my girlfriend and we are planning to get married" he said and started moving backwards away from Dev and Avni exactly knowing how they would react. The next moment Dev and Avni started running behind him as Ranveer started running away from them to save himself. All this while the others just stood wondering all the commotion was about. After a few moments Ranveer slumped on to the sofa huffing and puffing as Dev and Avni started hitting him.

"You idiot, you fool. You are planning to get married and never told us" they spoke in unison as they hit him again as Ranveer spoke "Sorry naa yaar, I did not get time to tell you guys" he said as both stopped and the next moment the trio burst out laughing.

"Will someone tell us what's going on here?" it was Sonakshi who asked as Dev spoke "Actually Sonakshi... This is Ranveer. The childhood friend I always talked about and she is Neha, his girlfriend. In fact she was the one who helped us prove you innocent during that fiasco which you were stuck in" he said as Sonakshi smiled in surprise and went towards Neha engulfing her into a hug, thanking her for helping her out of a sticky situation while Neha just brushed it off.

Dev then introduced Ranveer and Neha to the Bose family along with informing everyone about their relationship which was met with cheers and hoots from all the youngsters while the elders blessed them. After all the commotion settled down Ranveer asked.

"By the way whose engagement were you guys talking about?" he asked as the sisters informed him about Dev and Avni. The next moment they were met with the same fate that Ranveer met after he had revealed about his relationship. After everything settled down the Dixits insisted that everyone had dinner at their home to celebrate the occasion which everyone agreed to. After a lavish dinner the Boses proceeded to their home with the promise that they would meet soon to discuss about the engagement and wedding dates. Neha accompanied them as her home was on the way to Bose house. Just as Sonakshi was about to leave Dev pulled her beside and quickly stole a kiss from her reddening her cheeks as she pushed him aside and left but the embarrassment on her face was clear when Nani teased her while the case was no different with Dev when Dadi had teased him after the Boses had left. Everyone called it a night while the Trio of Dev, Avni and Ranveer decided to spend some time together as they were meeting after so many days.

"It's been such a long time since we three sat like this and have chatted right?" said Avni as Dev and Ranveer agreed to her, they were sitting in Dev's room. "Yes Avni, you are right. It's been a long time indeed" said Ranveer as Dev spoke up "Guys, I have a plan. Why don't we go for a trip like we do every year? This time lets take our better half with us before either of us get engaged" he said as both Avni and Ranveer perked up "That's a great idea Dev" said Ranveer just as Avni spoke "But do you think they will agree?" asked Avni, skeptical that their fiancés would agree or not.

"Avni, We will make them agree" said Dev and winked as Avni smiled while Ranveer added "By the way, where should we go?" he asked.

"Leave that to me. I will decide the place and make the arrangements. You guys just get your bae to agree to it" he said as Avni and Ranveer replied "Aye Aye Captain" as everyone chuckled. Deciding to spend the night at the Dixit house the trio spoke for some more time before calling it a night.

"I will not force you Uncle, you can give the permission to Sonakshi only if you wish to" said Dev to Bijoy as Asha and Nani looked on. Dev was at the Bose house a couple of days later after his conversation about the outing with his friends. So today after completing his work at the office he visited the Bose house to ask for permission from Sonakshi's parents for the same.

"Dev first answer me something. What does Sonakshi address your parents as?" asked Bijoy as Dev was surprised initially but then replied, "As Mom and Dad" as everyone smiled while Bijoy replied "Then in that case why are you addressing me as Uncle, When Rajeev and Ishwariji have the privilege of having one more daughter in their family then why should I not have the same privilege of having one more son?" he said as Dev smiled while Asha and Nani were happy that Bijoy had accepted Dev as a part of their family as the case was no different with Dev.

"Ok Dad, so if you agree Can I take Sonakshi along with me?" he said as Bijoy replied "If Sonakshi has no issues with it then I have no problem as well Dev, I trust you to take care of her" he said as joy spread across Dev's face, firstly because Bijoy had given the permission and then secondly because Bijoy trusted him with his daughter.

"By the way Baba, if you do not mind can Jatin and Elena join us as well?" he asked as everyone was surprised there was only question running in their minds which Nani asked "Dev, why didn't you ask it before? I mean are you asking the permission for Jatin and Elena separately" she asked confused and the case was no different with Bijoy and Asha.

"Nani, If I had told you to Sonakshi along with Jatin and Elena then I was sure that you all would have agreed without a second thought as Sonakshi would be with her brother and sister but I wanted you all to trust me with Sonakshi as only then I would have been happy taking her along with me" he said as Asha came forward and caressed his hair, slight tears of happiness were glistening her eyes as she thanked god that her daughter was going to have a life partner like Dev while Nani and Bijoy smiled looking at each other.

"I wish I was younger" said Nani as Bijoy asked in a confused tone "Maa, what do you mean by that?" as Nani replied "if I was younger I myself would have married Dev, I mean which girl would miss the opportunity to marry a guy a like him" she said sadly as Asha and Bijoy chuckled while Dev smiled, he moved towards Nani and wounding his arm around her he said "By the way Nani, you still are young and beautiful. If you want I will ditch Sona and marry you right away" he flirted with Nani as she replied "I guess I will let it pass Dev, after all I cannot hurt my granddaughter. But rest assured in next birth I will make sure that I get married to you" she said as Dev chuckled along with Bijoy and Asha.

Just then Saurabh arrived along with Ronita and Elena, He had taken Ronita for her routine check-up as she was in her eighth month of pregnancy and on the way, he picked up Elena from her college. As they came in Saurabh spoke "Dev Babu, what brings you here at this hour? He asked but before he could respond Elena spoke "That too when the person you want to meet is not there, I thought you would know that Jeeju" she teased him as Dev twisted her ear and said "I know where Sonakshi is Ele, I came here to meet my family" he said as Elena screamed "Ah Jeeju, sorry...sorry please leave my ear, it's hurting" she said as Dev left her and then told them the reason for his visit.

As soon as Dev told about the outing Elena started jumping as she spoke "Oh my god...Oh my god...An outing after so many days and that too to the place which I had always wanted to visit. Thank you Jeeju, let me call Sonakshi and tell her" she said but the very next moment Dev spoke "No Elena, don't call her I have a plan to tell her about this" he said while everyone looked at him confused wondering what he was talking about as he discussed about his plan with rest of the Bose family members who agreed to him, waiting to execute the plan and more importantly see Sonakshi's reaction to it.

It was around Half past Eleven in the night when Sonakshi reached home, her flight on which her duty was assigned had landed at Delhi an hour back and after completing the formalities she had left for her home. As she got off the office cab which had come to drop her she made her way towards the entrance of her house, she pressed the door bell a couple of times but there was no response from her family members which surprised her a bit as generally her father would be awake for her to come home irrespective of how much ever it was late in the night. She took out the spare keys from her purse and opened the door of the house.

As she entered, she was greeted with darkness as it surprised her even more, normally a light of low power would be switched on in the living room. In the darkness she moved towards the wall and switched on the lights but to her dismay the lights did not switch on indicating that there was no power in the house as she looked more perplexed, the house was connected to an inverter, but it seemed to her that even that was not working.

"Baba...Maa...Nani..." she called out for her parents and grandmother but there was no response from anyone "Jatin...Dada...Elena...Boudi..." she called out for the others but was greeted with nothing, but silence as slowly fear started creeping upon her as she was afraid of darkness. She took out the phone from her purse and switched on the torch of her phone as she moved towards the kitchen for a candle. Once she reached the kitchen, she searched for it but to her dismay there was none.

She came out of the kitchen and with the help of the light from the torch of her phone made her way towards her Nani's room which was on the ground floor but as she opened the door expecting to find her Nani sleeping but to her surprise there was no one on the bed. She closed the door and speed dialed her Dad's number, her father's phone rang but there was no response from him. She then tried to call her other family members, but no one picked up her call as a cold fear gripped her heart. She went towards her brother's room which was on the ground floor as well but just like she did not find Nani in her room, she did not find Saurabh or Ronita in their rooms. She tried calling Elena once again but just like earlier she got no response from her.

Seeing no other way she decided to go her room on the first floor, as soon as she stepped on the first step of the staircase she felt something wet and sticky on her foot as she moved the torch light towards the step to have a look, as soon as she saw the sticky liquid she gasped in horror as she stumbled back holding on to the table near the stairway to stop herself from falling, she moved the light once again to look at the sticky liquid on the stair only to realize what it was, it was blood. She moved the light to the other steps of the stairway to see droplets of blood on it as cold fear had completely gripped her heart by now, suddenly she felt someone moving behind her as she turned around.

"Who's there?" she screamed but there was no response, as once again she felt someone moving behind her as she turned around once again and screamed "I said Who's there?" but she was just greeted with silence, suddenly the door of Nani's room creaked indicating that someone was there but so fearful was she that nothing registered in her mind. She ran on to the stairs to go to her room as the blood on the stairway stuck to her feet, opening the door of her room she huffed as suddenly the door of her room closed, she ran towards it to open it, but it was closed from outside.

She started banging the door frantically "Open...Someone open the door please" she shouted but there was nothing but an eerie silence surrounding her as tears made way from her eyes. She turned around to move towards her bed but hit someone, it seemed like she had hit a wall or someone's broad chest as she screamed in fear "Aaaaaaaaaa...." But the person closed her mouth as she heard the words.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONAKSHI"
