Part 4: Aftermath
It has been three weeks since the explosion and Lana was just staring at the ruins of her old home. A home that was filled with memories both sad and happy before getting destroyed by a bomb that no one knew about...until now. She didn't know who planted it, but she didn't feel upset. After all, this house was the final place where those traitors kicked out her brother and caused Lola....she felt some tears come to her eyes to the thought of her twin. She quickly wiped them away before feeling some relief that Lola managed to get out of that stressful situation. Only for that relief to quickly turn to rage.
"Guess I better visit them. Lana said softly before she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw the concerned look on her brother's face.
"Are you okay, Lana? You've just been standing here and...." Lincoln started to say before she cut him off.
"I'm fine, Lincoln. I was just thinking about doing something later, but more importantly...When are Luan and Lucy going to become back?" Lana asked.
"Luan called earlier and said that they would be coming back tomorrow. She was also talking about possibly moving to another city to start over..." Lincoln said before sighing deeply.
"Lincoln, Are you blaming yourself for this again?" Lana asked.
"I know that it isn't my fault, but I can't help myself from feeling responsible. It was due to my lie that drove Lola to get overstressed and next thing you know the house blows up. Maybe the others were right and I was...." Lincoln started to say before Lana lightly smacked Lincoln on his forehead.
"Stop that! Lincoln, you aren't bad luck. They caused you to go to their activities and never gave you time to relax. I'm also sure that Lola would've never blamed you for what happened. So please stop blaming yourself." Lana said. Lincoln nodded and hugged his little sister unaware of a presence staring at them before disappearing. As soon as she said that, a familiar van came rushing down the street before stopping right in front of the pair. It was Luan and Lucy who seemed relieved to see both of their siblings safe and sound. As they joined the sibling hug, Lana made a note to visit the jail.
Later, Lana walked through the police station to a private visiting room. She would've liked to be public, but felt like her choice of words may cause other to be uncomfortable. She sat there for several minutes before the rest of the Loud Family sans Lincoln, Luan, Lucy and Leni walked in with Orange jumpsuits. Other than Lisa being slightly pale, they all seemed fine.
"Lana! You finally visited so are you going to talk to them about releasing us?" Rita asked in an excited tone.
"Release you? Why would I do something like that?" Lana asked causing the family to look at her like she grew a second head.
"What do you mean by that? Lincoln did this to us so we need to get back out there and teach him a lesson." Lori said. Lana chuckled in a dark tone in hearing this before she started to stare at them with a face that made them all fear her.
"You have some nerve trying to keep blaming Lincoln for what you've all done. All he did was lie to you about being bad luck which caused all of to drive both him and Lola to the breaking point." Lana said.
"That can't be true. He did this to us so he needs to be punished." Lynn Jr. said.
"Exactly. He was always bad luck so..." Lynn Sr. said before Lana cut him off.
"How are you this stupid? There is no such thing as luck and even if it did exist...Why would it only start now?" Lana said.
"You really don't understand anything Lana. Lincoln is seriously bad luck and if Lola were here, she would...." Luna began before a familiar voice cut in.
I would what?
This statement basically caused everyone in the room to jump before the lights started to flicker. Looking up, they gasped as they saw someone floating above them with a displeased face.
"L...Lola? Is that really you?" Lana said before Lola turned to her with her features softened.
I'm sorry that I left you so soon, Lana. I had hoped that everything would've calmed down by the time that you've returned from the race, but certain people made that hope disappear instantly.
When Lola said this, she turned her attention back to the people that caused so much pain to Lincoln. She watched every moment from the time that they rushed back home to how they continued to blame Lincoln for everything. Though, they continued to disappoint her especially when Rita opened her mouth.
"L..Lola, how are you here?" Rita asked with some shuttering.
I wanted to watch my family. Which is something that all of you forgot with this bad luck nonsense.
"It isn't nonsense!! Lincoln blew up our house and...." Lynn said before Lola started to laugh. The laugher made the Loud Family's blood run cold before she said something that almost made them all pass out from shock.
Lincoln didn't make the house explode.
"He didn't, but that doesn't make sense. He wanted revenge after all so..." Luna stammered in a panic. She and the others couldn't understand why it wasn't Lincoln who exploded the house and almost missed the shocked expression on Lana's face.
"Lola, Did you...." She started to say before Lola cut her off.
It seems like you figured it out, Lana. I was the one who exploded the house.
The statement shocked everyone in the room especially Lana who didn't know how she managed to do such a thing. After all, she was more focused on pageants more than anything so they really didn't think she knew how to operate such a thing.
"You exploded our house?! WHY? WE DID NOTHING WRONG TO DESERVE..." Lynn Jr. exploded before Lola spoke again with some anger behind her voice.
Nothing wrong? You call kicking your own flesh and blood out for some self proclaimed luck to be considered something that ordinary people do? You all disgust me for actually thinking that anyone would go around with that excuse.
"What about Lincoln? Shouldn't he disgust you too?" Luna asked.
Why would I be disgusted of my own brother? Sure, he isn't perfect...however he did care alot for me. He never hated me or even treated me differently. He just treated me like his little sister so when he was going through a hard time...I wanted to help him out. Which is something none of you have ever done for him.
"What happened to you, Lola? Why can't you understand why we had to kick him out?" Lynn Sr. asked.
I can ask the same each of you. Why can't you understand anything that we've been saying? It's like what we say goes in one ear and out the other. It is another reason why you disappointed me so much. It is also the reason why I only consider Lana, Lincoln, Luan, Lucy and Leni as my family.
"Seriously? We..." Lori began before Lola cut her off.
Enough. It's clear that no matter what Lana and I say that nothing gets through to you so it's better that we cut this conversation off.
"Wait! Will I see you again?" Lana asked. Lola turned to her twin and smiled before nodding.
Lana, you may not see me that much, but know that I will always be watching you and cheering you and the others on.
Lana smiled at that before Lola started to disappear, but not before promising to haunt the rest of them if they don't see the reality of the situation. A little afterwards, the rest of the Louds were lead back to their respective location as Lana walked back towards the waiting area. Where she saw her brother and sisters waiting for her.
"How was it, Lana?" Luan asked.
"It was good and I know why the house exploded." Lana said which caused her two sisters to raise an eyebrow while her brother stayed calm. It was almost like he already knew about the situation which wouldn't surprise her considering how Lola packed him some things just in case.
The following week, the four quickly walked to the church followed by Winston, Roxanne and Meli. All of which had tears in their eyes, but were glaring darkly to the rest of the family who were sitting in the corner. They had shackles on and were surrounded by cops.
Leading to interesting moments in Lola's funeral.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
