Chapter 5
Percy POV
-•-•-•-•-
Percy felt the world around him begin to spin. He felt dizzy, like he'd just been on a super fast ride.
He felt tears form in his eyes. What had he done to deserve this?
Blindly, Percy began ferociously shaking his head.
"What have I done wrong?" He whispered. Annabeth looked at him pitifully.
"Oh Seaweed Brain, you've done nothing. It's me."
"Don't call me that," Percy snapped. "Now why are you leaving me after all we've been through?"
"I've meet someone else," Annabeth said quietly. Percy stared at her, stunned.
"What about Tartarus? And the second Titan War? Doesn't that mean anything to you?" Percy asked, his voice cracking with emotion.
"Of course! I just-just don't feel the same now. When I'm with Dustin I feel, loved," Annabeth murmured. Percy practically hissed with rage.
"SO ALL THESE YEARS MEANT NOTHING TO YOU?!?!?" He screeched in rage.
"Just go," she said flatly.
Angry and heartbroken, Percy turned around and stalked away, looking for a place to hail a taxi.

When Percy got back to his mothers apartment, he collapsed into sobs on the couch. He felt and arm on his shoulder and heard comforting words from his mother.
Percy was too numb to hear what they were.
Half-crying, he managed to choke out the awful news and Sally listened intently. When he was done explaining, Sally closed the curtains and walked over to the tv. She leaned down and out a DVD in. Percy smiled.
It was Finding Nemo.
Then she disappeared into the kitchen, coming back within a few minutes with a bowl of blue popcorn.
His mom really knew how to cheer him up.
So Percy cuddled with his loving mother on the couch and eventually drifted off to sleep.

When Percy woke up, the sky outside was gray and thunder rumbled loudly.
Zeus must've been upset. Percy couldn't complain. The rain made him feel more depressed.
As an attempt to cheer himself up, Percy got out some paper and a pencil. He may as well respond to Nico's letter.
So he started to write:
Dear Nico,
I got your letter. Thanks for considering me a friend :). I heard about Jason. It's sad he's going away, but at least we have the teleport arch in camp to go to Camp Jupiter.
Also I'm kind of upset because the worst thing in the world happened to me yesterday. Annabeth broke up with me for some kid named Dustin. Do you know who he is?
Anyways, I really am sorry about lashing out at you. Also I'm glad you like your new foster home. Get along with your brother!
Thanks for not being mad at me Neeks.
Write me ASAP!!!!
-Percy
Percy read the letter a few times to check for spelling errors. After he'd made all the correct revisions, he dragged himself to the mailbox and slipped the letter through the slot.
Suddenly, there's was a blinding flash of light and the mailbox started to shake. Then, the word Hermes flashed above Percy. There was a loud screech and then...
Silence.
What the heck was that???
Percy bolted up to his room and walked over to his spray fountain that Poseidon had given him. He threw in a drachma and said:
"O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering. Show me Nico di Angelo."
Suddenly, the mist shimmered and an image of Nico with some swim trunks appeared. Also, he was soaking wet. Must've just gone swimming or something.
"Hey Nico!" Percy yelled. Nico screamed in terror and ducked. There was a sound of a door opening and a black haired, blue eyed kid stepped into view.
The kid must be Caleb.
Nico instantly stood in front of the mist, giving Percy a huge view on Nico's back.
Great way to start his morning.
Caleb and Nico talked for a minute, then Caleb turned around and left. Nico spun around to face Percy.
"Gods Percy! Don't do that!" Nico said, blushing madly. He was also attempting to cover up his chest, which Percy didn't find necessary.
What the heck????
Percy cleared his throat. "Hey when you delivered my letter, was there a weird light thing and a loud noise?"
Nico looked at him in shock. "I just mailed that letter last night..." (A/N: I know last chapter I said Nico was going to deliver it before he went swimming, but just hang on)
"Yeah, well I got it this morning," Percy said in confusion.
"I think Hermes had something to do with it," Nico added.
"That makes sense..." Percy murmured.
"Anyways, I have to go watch something called Doctor Who with Caleb," Nico explained.
Percy stared at Nico, dumbfounded.
"You've never seen Doctor Who?!?!?" Percy said in shock. Nico laughed awkwardly.
"Well... No," he admitted.
"What're you still doing here? Go! GO!!!!" Percy commanded. Nico laughed and swiped his hand though the misty image.
Oh Nico what you're missing out on...

NICO POV
*Time rewind to the previous night*
Nico, being a demigod, expected crazy, prophetic, terrifying dreams. What he didn't expect was a dream message from Hermes himself.
Nico dreamt that he was in Olympus. Not really knowing what to do, he began wandering around hoping to see his father, Hades.
Instead, he found Hermes.
Hermes caught Nico's eye and raced over to him.
"Nico, you must deliver the letter to Percy tonight," Hermes said urgently. Nico looked at him, confused.
"I'm going to do it in the morning when I go to the pool with Caleb," Nico explained. Hermes shook his head urgently.
"No, it must be tonight!" He said rapidly.
"Even if the mailbox does something weird, won't the mortals just see it as though I were just putting something in the mailbox?" Nico said in confusion. Once more, Hermes shook his head.
"Mortals, yes, but Caleb, no. You see, Caleb is a demigod. If he were to see a mailbox glowing..." Hermes said with a crooked smile.
"That does make sense," Nico murmured. "Okay, I'll go."
Hermes beamed. "Wake now, before it's too late!"
As Nico woke up, he wondered what Hermes meant by too late. Was Percy in trouble? He grabbed the letter of his desk and began the descent.
He snuck downstairs and timidly opened the front door. All of his years of running away from foster homes was good practice for sneaking out.
When Nico stepped outside, a cold, dawn chill made him quiver to the bone.
He ran for the mailbox, shivering. Tenderly, he slipped the letter into the slit. A bright light practically blinded Nico, then a loud screech. Above Nico a word flashed, but the spots in his eyes made it hard to see. Then it was silent.
He bolted up the street to the house, snuck upstairs, and climbed into bed once more without a problem.
Relieved, Nico pulled the covers up to his neck and fell back into a dreamless sleep.
-•-•-•-•-
The next time Nico awoke, it was because someone jumped on him.
"Mmph... Get off..." Nico mumbled, trying to push his attacker off.
"Nooooo!!! Get up!!!" Someone whined. That someone sounded oddly like...
"Caleb get off. I'll be up in a second," Nico said, yawning loudly. Caleb jumped off and Nico was able to sit up. Instantly the memories of the glowing mailbox ran through his mind.
The whole incident was completely unnatural. Then again, so was Nico with his gay crush on Percy...
SHUT UP NICO HE'LL NEVER LOVE YOU!!!!
Nico got up and got ready for the day. When he was ready, he clambered down the stairs in his usual black clothing.
He met Caleb downstairs and they sat down. Nico poured some Cheerios into a bowl and began eating.
Caleb glanced out the window. "We should leave soon. It looks rainy outside..."
Nico quickly finished his cereal, washed his bowl, and bolted up the stairs. He got changed into some black swim trunks. Then he raced downstairs before Caleb smacked him.
There was one thing Nico had never told anyone. He hated water. HATED IT. It wasn't even because of Percy. It was because of... Nico clenched his teeth.
Swallowing hard, Nico followed Caleb silently out the door. He had slipped a black t shirt on so he didn't feel so exposed on the walk over.
When they got to the pool, Nico looked at the water in terror. All the memories of that day came rushing back to him. Blake.... (I will explain later I promise)
"Hey, uh, I think I'll just go... To the erm, bathroom. Be right back!" Caleb nodded then jumped in.
Nico ran to the bathroom like it was his life source. In a way it was, because if he even touched the water, he would go into complete panic attack mode.
The only reason he didn't freak out in the shower is because there were drains. The drains would prevent the water from filling up and drowning him.
Nico locked himself in the bathroom, shaking and shivering. Just then he heard a whistle from outside and a lot of yelling. Curious, Nico exited the bathroom.
When he came out, he almost screamed for joy. It was raining and the lifeguard was kicking everyone out for "health reasons".
"Thanks Zeus," Nico whispered. Just then, Caleb spotted him and ran over.
"Come on brother, let's go!"
*Time Lord Skipety Skeep of Time Wimey Stuff*
By the time Nico made it upstairs to his room, he was soaked. The rain had made his shirt cling to his bony stomach. With a groan, Nico pulled his freezing and soaked shirt over his head and deposited it in his bathroom to dry.
Just as he was about to get changed, he heard a loud "Hey Nico!!" Nico recognized the voice as Percy and started blushing furiously. He was shirtless. In front of Percy. His crush. What the literal Hades.
Just as Nico was going to respond, his door opened. It was Caleb in some footie pajamas.
Instantly, Nico scrambled in front of the mist image of Percy.
"Hey Nico!" Caleb said. "Hurry up and get dressed!!! I have to show you Doctor Who!!!" Nico looked at him in confusion but nodded.
"Ooookay. I'll be down in a sec," Nico responded. Then Caleb exited his room and closed the door.
Instantly, Nico spun around. "Gods Percy! Don't do that!" Nico said, blushing madly. He was also attempting to cover up his chest. He didn't need his crush seeing him so exposed!
Percy cleared his throat. "Hey when you delivered my letter, was there a weird light thing and a loud noise?"
Nico looked at him in shock. "I just mailed that letter last night..."
Nico smiled. He felt his heart racing from even talking to Percy. He felt his blush deepen as he walked downstairs to find Caleb.

I. Am. So. Sorry. I will be like a normal person and make up an excuse.
When I got home Wednesday I was dead. So I spent most of my day relaxing.
Thursday I was lazy.
Today I finished this up. Technically I already wrote this but I did something really stupid.
Okay so I wanted to go on Wattpad.com so I could advertise my story right? My password wasn't working so I changed it. Meanwhile, I had finished typing the part. But I was logged in on the app before I changed my password so when I went to publish this part it said password failed and crashed. I logged in again, but my hour of work was erased.
So if this part seems rushed I'm really sorry. It's because it was such a pain to do.
I swear on the River Styx the next one will be better!!
Anyways, don't forget to comment, vote, and keep reading if you like this story!
Also, thanks to HeyItsAcai and JazzyBazzyPersn for commenting! It means a lot!
Until next time,
-Callie
