So...I was given an assignment for Girls' Camp to do a parody for our theme: There's No Place Like Home, and I wanted to share it.

To the tune of "Go the Distance" and "Go the Distance (Reprise)" from Hercules

I have often dreamed of my home in heaven
Where a great, warm welcome will be waiting for me
Heavenly Father is embracing me
And Christ is saying, "Welcome home, you've earned your place"

I'll return to Him, I can go the distance
I'll be there someday, if I can obey
I know every trial will be worth my while
I'll endure most anything to return to Him above

I am on the path, I can go the distance
I don't care how hard, somehow I'll press on
And with every choice, I'll heed His voice
I will hold fast to His word to live with Him above

I'll endure this life, I can go the distance
I will face the world, fearless, humble, strong
I will share His love, I can go the distance
Till I gain Celestial glory with my God above
