Greedy
I want too much
The snake's coil to fall away
My lungs to fill with air
And a warmth on my tongue
Scales wrap tighter
Leaving diamond imprints
They aren't so pretty
In the darkness of my room
There isn't a breath deep enough
To fully oxygenate my blood
Yet red cells rush to my brain
My vision flickering in and out
A metal weight sits on my tongue
Accompanied by a poor flavor
Still I wonder if I should swallow
Or spit it out at your feet like a guilt ridden dog
