Now Krishna was in full control,
To the surface he made Kalia rise
Kalia,now venom and vanity lost,
Obeyed the Lord in a thrice!

Meanwhile, the people above were mourning,
That such an end Krishna should meet,
But when Krishna rose with Kalia,
They gaped open-mouthed at this feat!

One hand held Kalia's tail, other the flute,
The Lord began his joyful dance,
On the flute he played a vibrant tune,
On each of Kalia's heads he pranced!

Krishna performed his divine dance
Face brighter than the Sun,glowing gold
His anklets clinking, lotus eyes darting,
A magnificent sight to behold!

Lakshmi herself sang, Saraswati
played the veena, Parvati kept beat,
The celestials showers flowers, knelt,
To the eyes, the divine sight a treat!

The doubly happy people gaped, astounded
Unharmed was Krishna, their little dear,
He had triumphed against Kalia,
His malevolence any longer, they needn't fear!

Kalia's wives begged Krishna for pardon
How Garuda chased them, they  narrated
They beseeched Krishna to spare Kalia,
At Krishna's feet they plead, prostated!

Krishna, the Merciful One,consented
Sparing Kalia for his wives' sake
Promised  them safety from Garuda,
If Yamuna's waters they'd forsake!

The humbled Kalia bowed, apologised
For uninhabited waters, went on his way
Krishna, the Compassionate Lord, had
Once again, saved the day!
