Chapter 11: Ireland and Sarah, Comfort for the Future
(After six years, this book is finally finished. I cannot believe I waited this long and finally finished it. I was trying so hard to finish it, but he did it. This is it. The final chapter for this book is here, and done. Enjoy everyone!)
(Ireland's POV)
To say I'm excited to see a Dreamer with my country's blood is an understatement! I haven't this excited since I beat up my brothers in our contests! Who wouldn't be excited for that?! I have a Dreamer! More than one! Ha! What does my little brother have?! Only one! I have three!
"Ireland!" she called as I turned around to see her, Sarah!
"Hello Sarah!" I greeted warmly as I waved to her.
She ran down the hallway, holding a notebook and her luggage before she stopped right in front of me.
"I'm so glad to be here! I've been looking forward to this vacation and learning!" she said excitedly.
"Wonderful! I've got a lot to show you!" I said with pride as I patted my chest.
She smiled warmly as she walked in front of me. It still surprised me. She and the other Dreamers were able to forgive us old nations for our mistakes. We should've moved on with ease, but we didn't. We were stuck in the past. It took them to help us move on. I hope our citizens and people can learn from them whenever they learn from the Dreamers.
"Ireland!" Sarah called out as I shook my head and followed her.
"Comin'!" I shouted as I followed her out of the airport.
It wasn't every day a friend comes to visits me. We left the airport and drove her to the hotel first. She needed to rest after a long day of flying from America's place to mine. She took in the sites of my place. The vast green fields, the clear skies, and the cheerful cries of my people.
"Do you like what you see?" I asked her warmly.
"Yes" Sarah answered simply as she smiled at the site.
I grinned. I am so happy she likes this place! I parked my car before the hotel and helped her with the luggage and then entered the hotel. I then realize she picked on the richest hotels in my country!
"How can you afford this?" I asked in a deadpanned tone.
"My parents" she answered simply as she entered the hotel.
Well, she checked in and decided to drop off her luggage at the room as I waited at the lobby. I had myself some cookies and tea. She was going to rest for a bit as I glanced around the room. Everything was fine, but why do I feel like something is off? I am sure it is nothing, but still, I am concerned. Should I call my brothers? Nah, they would throw everything into a panic.
"Ireland?" I heard her voice as I looked up to see her wearing a green dress and shoes while she had a bag, "Are we ready to go?"
"Oh, sure!" I answered her warmly as I took a bow and gestured her to follow me.
We decided to see the city of Dublin first. Since she had never been here before, she should see the busy, lively city of mine! We walked along the stone paths as people were going about their days. People were chatting and drinking together or returning to their homes after a busy day of work.
"What do you think so far?" I asked her as she stopped and held her phone to take pictures of this place.
"Wonderful" Sarah answered warmly.
She then held her own notebook and went to take notes about the scene. I could only smile at her. It is not every day that someone comes to your country to learn about it as well as have a passion for it. As I was ready to follow her, I felt that odd feeling. I turned around to see nothing behind me. What is this feeling of dread I have?
(3rd's POV)
"Ireland?" Sarah asked curiously as she noticed his mind distracted.
She wondered what could be bothering him. She approached him, but she soon understood what was wrong. Something dark was here.
"Ireland" she said seriously as she put her phone and notebook away, "Please don't worry. Everything will be fine. I will make sure of it"
He turned to her as she held an emerald in her hands. She gripped it as she summoned her silver and gold rapier in her hands. Ireland had never seen a blade like hers before, but she lunged forward to strike something!
"What?!" Ireland exclaimed as Sarah sighed.
"I knew something was up the moment I arrived her" she said with a defeated sigh, "Reveal yourself, Zeena!"
She swung her rapier upward to make a green girl appear before them!
"Not bad, girl" she complimented, "You almost made me use my power"
"Why are you here?" Sarah demanded as she swung her rapier downward.
"I have my reasons, much like your reason for being here, right?" she taunted as Sarah shook her head.
"I am here for a wonderful vacation and rest" she replied, "I have no intention of doing anything us but take a break!"
Ireland suddenly felt worried.
"So, I will ask you kindly, please leave us be, or we will hurt you" Sarah threatened as she pointed her rapier at her.
Ireland waited to see what either would do. Before they could do anything, he jumped between them with his arms held out.
"WAIT!" he shouted as they looked at him, "Do we have to fight? Can't we get along?"
He didn't want any more fights. He knew the Dreamers were already exhausted from their previous fights, but he also knows the damages fighting does to others. He doesn't want it spread.
"Step away!" Zeena said as she swiped her hand to make a red energy beam launch at him.
Sarah cast a green beam and then tackled Ireland and herself away from the colliding beams.
"She can't be reasoned with" Sarah said calmly, "I know you don't want to fight nor struggles, but she will not be reasoned with at all"
She picked herself up and waved her rapier to then cast another green energy wave as she then created a blue beam. Ireland looked up as he saw Sarah fighting Zeena with grace and precision. She's much more confident in her fighting style since he saw her last.
"Sarah" he whispered with awe and pride.
He stood up and understood what she was doing. He was also not going to let her fight this green girl monster alone!
"Seriously? Why is this world so hard to conquer? Why can't you just be conquered?!" Zeena shouted as she cast another energy wave to Sarah.
Sarah struck her rapier in the ground to make sure she wasn't knocked away from her attack. However, Zeena rushed towards her with a powerful red energy beam in her hands. Sarah didn't have time to react as Ireland swung the blunt end of his sword to knock Zeena away! Sarah was surprised as Ireland let out a hearty laugh and stood up.
"You're not harming a Dreamer while I am around" Ireland stated as he held his sword, "So, are you ready to be beaten by us?!"
She picked herself and let out a terrified scream. Her nails were ruined!
"You are not going to get away with this!" she snarled as Sarah rushed in front of Ireland and raised her rapier to block an incoming red wave of energy.
They were knocked back and crashed into a brick wall. Ireland took most of it, but Sarah was still hurt. She picked herself up and prepared to face Zeena. Ireland knew she couldn't fight alone, so he slowly backed away as Zeena advanced towards her.
"You know, you and your little friends are annoying" she said as she gathered more energy to her hands, "I will personally make sure you pay for breaking my nails and ruing our plans!"
Sarah held herself steady as Ireland slowly made his way around her and swung his sword to knock her down!
"Gah!" she exclaimed as she then swung her tail to knock him off his feet, "But first, you're going to pay!"
Zeena prepared to launch an attack, but Sarah swung her sword to break it into a chain and wrap it around her waist to throw her in the air! Sarah then lunged forward as Chaos energy flowed from her sword and then swiped her sword to slam Zeena on the ground, hard! Sarah then landed on the ground before her and twirled to then striking her rapier on the ground to make Chaos Energy rose from the ground and held her in place.
"Enough fighting" Sarah said as she pointed her rapier at Zeena, "You've lost"
Zeena growled as Sarah then waved her rapier to create a portal to send Zeena back to her world. Then, she locked the gateways and made the blue beam disappear. She then sighed as she made her rapier disappear into a Chaos Emerald and put the emerald back in her bag.
"Are you ok?" Ireland asked as he threw the sword to the ground and kneeled beside her.
"Yes and no" she confessed as she hugged herself, "I thought I was going to be on a nice vacation, but I still got attacked. I wonder when this fighting will ever end. Sometimes it is just too much"
Ireland understood as he snapped his fingers. He stood up and held his hand out to her.
"I was saving this for later, but I believe this is a good time to show you this" Ireland said as he smiled at her.
She took his hand and followed him to his car. He then drove her to the deeper parts of the city and parked it. He then opened the door as she stepped out and saw the bronze statues of people walking forward.
"The famine" she said as she took out her phone and notebook to take notes on this.
She rushed towards the statues and plats to read the information on this. Ireland crossed his arms over his chest and watched her happily watched her takes notes on everything. He had learned from Jay that Sarah wanted to learn more about this part of his history. He had made a schedule to take her there on their second to last day, but he knew she needed to see this before seeing the rest of his wonderful country. He could wait.
"Ireland, thank you" Sarah said as she stood before a statue of a mother holding her child, "I've always wanted to see and learn about this. I wanted to write about it in a book"
"You want to write a book about this?" Ireland asked surprised.
"Yes. I want to write something about my country with my characters. Thank you for taking me here, Ireland" Sarah said warmly to him.
Ireland could only smile at her as she then went back to learning more about the Famine. He couldn't wait to read her book as well as see her grow up and make an impact on their world. He knew she and her friends are going to change their world for the better. He couldn't wait for it.
