Endurance
The pain radiated from my spine, bounced within my chest cavity, and ricocheted throughout my rib cage, then finally settled at the back of my throat.
I stared up at the cerulean blue sky, with its spaghetti string cloud threads, and tried to hold onto a single sane thought.
The vibration of my climbing had knocked a loose coconut from above. It'd rudely conked my forehead, shocking me out of the traitorous tree, and landed my lucid body on the white, weed-sprinkled sand below.
As the coconut now lulled innocently against my temple I gulped like a fish out of water and tried to catch my breath.
Good Heavens, give me strength.
