Day eight 

[Main Scripture : John 7:38]

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!  Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'"
John 7:37‭-‬38 NLT

Jesus is the water of life. But He only gives water to those who are thirsty. Thirst shows desire for something specific. One would have to be thirsty for Jesus before they ever receive Him as the fountain of living waters. The bible says, "Rivers of living water will flow from his heart." Not one river, but quite many.

For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.
Isaiah 44:3 NLT

 Now water signifies the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Jesus unlimited. Was Jesus limited? Yes. In the sense that He couldn't be at all places at all times. But the Holy Spirit can live in you and me and still function as He is supposed to function. The bible says, "I will pour out water to quench your thirst." Jesus is willing to be poured out on the one person that thirsts for Him.

  As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?
Psalms 42:1‭-‬2 NLT 

David said: "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God." We have to have a strong desire for Jesus. Desire leads a person on a journey.

 Somebody that desires to be a medical doctor sets off on a journey. That journey includes going to medical school. I cannot imagine somebody who wanted to be a doctor  going to a school of engineering. Desire sets you on a path. What you desire starts a journey.

Prayer: Father we thank you. We acknowledge you. We bless your name. You are amazing. You are great! Today we appreciate you. Father, make us people who thirst for you. That out of us will flow rivers of living waters. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
