Jesus gives sight to the blind

Day ten

[ Main Scripture : John 9:24-26]

Then they summoned the man who used to be blind a second time and said to him, "Promise before God to tell the truth. We know that this man is a sinner." He replied, "I do not know whether he is a sinner. I do know one thing – that although I was blind, now I can see." Then they said to him, "What did he do to you? How did he cause you to see?"
John 9:24‭-‬26 NET

There was a man that had been blind that Jesus happened to have given sight on the sabbath day. This miracle caused so much tension amongst Jewish leaders. They sought after the man that had been healed to question him further.

They asked him a very important : "What did He do to you? How did He cause you to see?"Jesus makes us see. I am not talking about physical sight. But being able to see things from a spiritual perspective. When we see how sinful we might be, it causes us to see how much we need Jesus.

Its important to be discerning enough. Our ability to see things spiritually sets us apart from people who are either, earthly. Sensual. Or devilish. An earthly person is someone who just cares about the things of the earth. Money. Cars. Houses. Academic achievements. Not that there are bad. But life is more spiritual than we can ever see. When Jesus visited the earth, His main concern was to seek the kingdom of God.

Then there's somebody called a sensual person. This is somebody that does things according to the guidance of his senses. What he sees. What he hears. What he feels. What he touches. And lastly, there's a devilish person. This is someone led by the devil. But when Jesus gives us sight, we begin to see. The reason for giving our lives to Christ is so that we can see. On our own, we cannot see anything.

We cannot do Christianity on our terms. Jesus challenges our traditions. He challenges our philosophies. He challenges everything that makes man think he is great. When He opens our eyes, we begin to see clearly that being Spiritual is more important than anything else in this world.

Jesus said,] "For judgment I have come into this world, so that those who do not see may gain their sight, and the ones who see may become blind."
John 9:39 NET

The bible says, "I have come into this world, so that those who do not see may gain their sight." A good prayer would be to ask Jesus to open our eyes to the things we are blind to. That's why having a relationship with Jesus is important. That's why prayer is important. That's why studying the word of God is important. Doing all of these things causes us to become people who see.

Each time you study the bible, you interact with Jesus.

He dams up the streams from trickling; What  is hidden he brings forth to light.
Job 28:11 NKJV

A good prayer would be to ask for the Spirit of revelation. A revelation is Divine sight from the Holy Spirit. Revelations cause us to study the word of God with more determination and more direction. The bible says, "What is hidden he brings forth to light." Nothing can be hidden from God and He can also cause us to start seeing things that have been hidden from us.

Prayer:  Father we thank you. We magnify you. We bless your name. We worship you. Father we ask that you open our eyes. That we might be able to see the things we cannot see. That we might be able to open our eyes as Jesus gives us sight. We open ourselves to new revelations. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
