Hit The Books (Seteth)
OKAY ALL Y'ALL SETETH HORNY SIMPS CALM DOWN
THIS IS A PG CHAPTER
Minus the swearing
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
Also sorry for the absence, when I got sick I was in a ton of pain. I wrote a chapter for The Barista (Which you should totally read if you like Persona 3 :P) and the chapter took me 5 hours even though it's like almost 2k words. That's how bad it was. So I took some time away from writing to heal and now I have! So here ya go!
[This chapter is goofs.]

You were seated at your desk, sorting through the many administrative papers you volunteered to help the object of your affections deal with to take some of the stress off his shoulders.
It was proving to be a more strenuous task than you originally imagined.
You were currently sorting through a file of detention slips and stamping them to prove they've been reviewed, ready to be placed in the folder.
"Sylvain, Sylvain, Sylvain, Lorenz, Claude, Sylvain, Dimitri? Linhardt, Sylvain, Caspar, Lorenz. Geez, can these kids ever stay out of trouble? What do they even do to get detention?" You mused, looking back at the slips you had been absentmindedly stamping to see the reasons.
Sylvain #1: Harassment of a female student.
Sylvain #2: Breaking curfew.
Sylvain #3: Threatening to kill Professor Byleth.
Lorenz #1: Truancy.
Claude: Pranking Seteth.
Sylvain #4: Breaking curfew after repeated reminders.
Dimitri: Late. Was extremely apologetic. Only given half an hour of detention.
Linhardt: Truancy.
Sylvain #5: Destroying Monastery property.
Caspar: Disruption of class after multiple warnings.
Lorenz #2: Truancy again.
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair. These kids really don't learn their lessons after their first reminders, do they? How the Professors deal with these students slipped your mind.
You went back to sorting through the slips mindlessly in hopes that doing so wouldn't harm your view of these students even more than they already have.
That's when you heard a knock on your door.
"Y/N? Lady Rhea would like to speak with you for a moment," Seteths voice rang out from the other side of your door. You recognized the way he knocked as exclusively his, three evenly spaced out knocks.
"I'll be there in a second," you said, getting up from your chair and looking at yourself in the mirror, hoping you didn't look too disheveled and apathetic. You didn't.
Opening the door, you jokingly linked your arm with Seteths who didn't seem to mind too terribly much. PDA really isn't his thing but as long as no one is watching and skin doesn't touch it's fine! Right? He can't seem to help the slight rosy tint giving his cheeks a subtle blush.
Once you got to Rheas office, you unlinked your arms. No one needed to see the stoic Seteth showing any form of affection to anyone. You winked at him before entering her office.
"Ah, Y/N. Just the person I wanted to see. Have you been well? I hope petty office work hasn't worn you down too much," the archbishop commented with a soft smile gracing her features. You bowed softly to her and returned her smile.
"Not horribly but it is not my favorite. It's stiff on the back," you lamented and Rhea laughed.
"I can agree with you on that which is why you're going to be monitoring detention with Seteth this week," Rhea said, giving a very knowing smile. She knew about your and Seteths feelings for each other. That's exactly why she paired you two up this week. Your cheeks turning red was all she needed to know that you knew she knew.
"That- Uh, sounds great, Lady Rhea," you couldn't meet her gaze any longer, instead focusing on your sandals and how detailed they suddenly looked.
"I knew you'd accept. You're dismissed to go back to paper sorting now. Have fun," Rhea joked with you and you couldn't crack a little smile but you still couldn't look at her in the eyes. You bowed your head lower as an exit and left the way you came.
Trudging your way back to your desk work, you were dreading going through everything else. You had barely made a dent in one of the stacks of paper you had to go through. Seeing as it was the 20th of the Guardian moon and you got through about three days worth of detention slips, you were ready to throw in the towel and flop onto your bed. Your back was stiff and sore from sitting in your chair all day.
However, for Seteth and your sanities, you must continue.
With out taking the time to read through each and every detention slip, you returned to your mindless state of sorting and stamping papers at a steady rhythm.
It was late when Seteth knocked on your door again.
"Y/N? Are you still working in there? Come out for a break, it's late," you heard his smooth voice from the other side of your office door for the second time that day. You grunted back at him in response, having heard his voice but not his words. He knocked again.
"Y/N? Please come get some dinner, I'm sure you're hungry," the grumbling of your stomach is what finally broke you out of your stamp trance. He was right. You were really hungry. Relenting, you stood from your chair and went to the door, opening it slowly.
"Y/N. I'm glad to see you're... Okay..." he stuttered mid sentence seeing the state of you.
You didn't look great. There were very clear dark circles under your eyes, your hair was disheveled, and there was your handprint permanently imprinted on your cheek from resting your head on it while you sorted. Seteth had to clear his throat before speaking again.
"Y/N. Do you mind if I escort you to the dining hall for dinner so we can discuss what to do about detention for the following week?" Your eyes met his green ones. You said not a word and linked your arm around his as an answer instead. He nodded and began walking.
"You must know that it's unhealthy to behave like this. Have you had any water at all today?" A shake of your head is what he received. "No? You seriously need to be taking better care of yourself. I know you volunteered to help me but seeing you like this hurts a lot to watch. So please try to take better care of yourself in the future."
Once the two of you reached the dining hall, you sat down at Seteths request so he can grab you a plate.
Dinner was boar, mashed carrots, and some fresh greens. He also grabbed you a glass of water.
You thanked him and he sat across from you.
"So, about detention next week..."
The plan was to have some of the students help Cyril clean the library, have a few help with kitchen duties, and the remaining few would help with the stables. Since Sylvain was the one with the most slips accumulated by a landslide, he would be helping in the kitchen alongside Lorenz and Linhardt. Supervised by Seteth because putting this group of kids together was a horrible idea.
Claude and Dimitri would have stable duty supervised by Jeritza. Why him? He's scary and will intimidate any shenanigans out of Claudes head. That and Dimitris strong sense of "I don't want to get in trouble so you shouldn't either" would hopefully be a good influence on the next sovereign Duke.
Caspar, Leonie, and Felix would be helping with the library. Felix is only in the group because you needed someone strong to help lift heavy things and he begrudgingly accepted your request. They would be supervised by Cyril who is being supervised by you. You knew Cyril doesn't need supervision in the library but this group of kids might get particularly... Chaotic if left to their own devices so you were there as a failsafe. And also Cyril knew more about the libraries workings than you do.
Monday afternoon rolled around soon enough and it was time for the first day of detention.
Cyril had already assigned your motley cleaning crew some tasks which they had started working on.
Caspar was rearranging the books. Cyril had given him a list of how the books should be arranged and he seemed to be following it quite well.
Leonie was dusting and polishing the tables and chairs. It was an easy enough task that shouldn't flare her temper too much.
Felix was currently replacing the candles in the sconces on the walls. That also included him polishing and dusting the glass surrounding the sconces as well.
You had been lazily lounging on a chair in the library, not really all awake. That is until you heard the sound of glass shattering.
Everyone in the library froze once they heard it. Felix seemed to shake after it happened.
"Cyril," your voice rang out and the young man jumped to attention at the sound. "Do you mind grabbing a broom, a dustpan, and a replacement glass holder?" He nodded and ran off to grab them. "In the meantime, everyone stay where you are. The floor is too dangerous with the glass on it." No one dared to move a muscle. Including Felix who was still on the ladder.
When Cyril returned, you took the broom and dustpan from him.
"Is there a trash bin somewhere nearby?" Cyril ran out to go get that for you as well. You began sweeping the glass into the dustpan. Once you were certain you got all of it, you threw it in the trash bin Cyril brought. "Thank you Cyril. Alright everyone, back to work." Everyone got back to their tasks just like you told them to.
The cleaning crew was done by sundown. Once they had finished you sent them to dinner. You decided to lag behind a little bit.
"Hey Cyril, is there anything left to clear up here?" He looked at you in surprise before shaking his head.
"Oh no, I couldn't ask you for help, Y/N. I was told explicitly not to let you stay behind past dinner so please go," he ushered you out of the library but wondered what he meant by what he said.
He was told not to let you skip dinner to help?
Your feet wandered to the dining room where Seteth waved you over. A plate was already in front of him and there was one across from him as well.
"How did library supervision go?" He asked you as you settled into your seat.
"Well, besides Felix dropping a glass on the floor and me needing to clean it up, nothing too eventful. But Cyril did say something that piqued my attention," Seteth perked up at hearing this. "He told me I couldn't stay back to help him because he told me he was told to turn me away if I asked. Do you know what that's about?" You knew it was him. You had rested your head on your hand and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh. Well, of course. You shouldn't be overworking yourself you know and I'm sure whoever said that figured you would ask and had him turn you away. It only makes sense," he was trying to cover his tracks and it wasn't quite working. You knew his tells when he was lying and he clearly was right now.
"Do you know who might have asked him to do that?" You leaned closer to his face to examine his facial twitches.
"I believe Lady Rhea would do something of that caliber," he responded and his eyebrow quirked down a little bit.
"Oh? Well that's quite considerate of her. I wasn't aware she was looking out for me in such a way. Maybe I'll have to treat her to lunch for being so kind," you teased him knowing full well he was still lying.
"Yes, she is quite kind. Now please, finish your dinner before it gets cold," Seteth coughed and dug into his dinner and you did the same.
After you finished dinner you two walked back to your room. Before you reached your door you turned to face him.
"Psst," you leaned to whisper in his ear. "I know it was you looking out for me earlier. Thanks for that." You kissed his cheek before entering your room.
Once he was absolutely certain you were in your room, he brought his hand to his face as his cheek burned crimson.
