It was finally time for Elara to come clean to Thace about her final decision. She mustered up the courage and called him into her study to talk.

"Thace... It's time for me to tell you of my final decision." She said seriously.

"Well... Don't be shy. Put it out there." Thace said.

"Listen... When I got divorced you were so supportive. I didn't expect it. I appreciate it so much. However, I have to do what's best for me. I decided to stay married to Zarkon." She said.

"I respect your decision." Thace said.

"I'm sorry Thace. If things were different maybe I wouldn't have to do this. My happiness comes from seeing my children happy. If I split this family apart again they'll be destroyed and I can't be happy knowing that they're upset. This is for the better. I certainly believe that you will find somebody who loves you like I briefly did all those months ago." Elara said.

"Wait... Did you just say that you lo-"

"Yes I did. I did love you like one point Thace. The support that I was getting from you was everything I needed. It was what I wasn't getting from Zarkon but he's changed now. He's changed for the better... For me." Elara said.

"As long as you're happy I'll be alright." Thace said.

"Thank you Thace." She said, smiling at him.

He nodded at her, smiling, and left her study. She sighed in relief and slumped in her chair.

She was glad that everything is fine now. No more fighting, no more arguing. Her marriage has been smooth and both she and Zarkon are happy with each other and their children. Everything was going to be alright.
