A/N 's dad!geralt fics have inspired me!! Also... the way I wrote over 1k words in less than two hours is so wild, I haven't been able to do this in AGES.

Jaskier was probably the biggest gossip she'd ever met, as soon as he got comfortable with Y/N, she suddenly knew every secret of any princess or knight she could think of. And sure, maybe she was neglecting her dear Geralt a touch, but Y/N was always with him, Jaskier was a nice change of pace.

"One time, I got caught in Princess Yelga's bed chambers and had to jump out of her window naked as the day I was born! I would say I'm embarrassed but it was quite fun!"

Sure... Jaskier was a bit out there and far different from her usual company, but she enjoyed his theatrics sometimes. "It sounds as though you've had your fair share of princes and princess, Jaskier..." The bard nodded with a sly smile as Y/N drank from her mug of mead.

With his arm around Y/N, Jaskier struggled to look at Geralt who sat beside her, "Are you alright Geralt? You look... angrier than usual." Jaskier asked innocently at the sight of a brooding Geralt. It was normal for Geralt to brood, but he was less broody... and more, irritated. She just assumed it was Jaskier's non-stop talking.

"Fine, I've got a monster to kill."

Y/N's eyes lit up, "Can I join?!" Geralt merely shook his head before leaving the tavern. She deflated immediately and pouted at Geralt's figure out the window. It was raining outside and not to mention it was nearly midnight. "He's usually a bit nicer."

Jaskier's eyebrows shot upward, "Really? That's normal for me."

"Well, he likes me more than he likes you, Jaskier..." She thought for a moment before making a decision, "I'm going after him, if we're not back by morning then something is wrong." He nodded at the young girl.

Finding Geralt proved to be far more difficult than she initially thought it would be. Y/N tried to remember what contracts he'd picked up when they made it into town but kept drawing up blanks. But upon further thought, she realized what he must be hunting.

A goddamn werewolf... Y/N cringed at the thought of those ugly creatures. Sure, they're man sometimes but in their monster form... it just makes her uncomfortable. The first werewolf she ever saw was in Skellige, it was cursed and Geralt managed to help him with the help of herself and Yennefer.

Y/N looked for the clues Geralt taught her to watch for and rode her trusty horse, Bart, through the night. The sounds of a fight happening came sooner than she expected, so she hopped of Bart. Roach must have been nearby because Bart walked away to the right.

The first thing Y/N did was brandish your silver sword, it was still practically new since she got it. Just last year on her seventeenth birthday, Geralt gifted the young girl with the beautiful weapon. It only had a few kills, mostly Drowned, but a few Wraiths were taken down with it.

Once she found the cave opening, Y/n rushed toward it and spotted Geralt struggling. An absolutely massive Fiend stood over him, obviously trying to hypnotize the man as Y/N tried to think of the best tactic. She sheathed her sword and pulled the crossbow off her back.

Geralt wasn't too happy when he found out she bought a matching crossbow for herself. Y/N loaded the weapon and aimed, then fired. It was like time slowed down for her as the arrow lodged itself into the Fiend's third eye. Geralt glanced over at Y/N and she saw the anger flash in his yellow eyes before he turned back to the Fiend.

As he fought, she would shoot the bow in order to aid Geralt. Y/N looked down to load the bow before she felt the familiar blast of Aard throwing her backwards against the cave wall. Y/N watched as the Fiend slashed into Geralt's chest and screamed out for him.

Somehow, the Witcher managed to thrust his sword into the Fiend's head before rolling over to avoid being crushed by the large creature. Y/N forced herself to stand up despite wanting nothing more than to lie there, she needed to check on Geralt. Luckily he was still conscious and actively reached for his potion pouch.

"Stop, let me," Y/N quickly retrieved the Swallow potion Geralt intended to grab. She lifted up his head so he wouldn't choke and let him drink the potion. "I've got to cover this wound, Geralt."

"No... leave it, we must go."

⎯⎯

It took a lot to get Geralt out of that cave, first she had to get the head off the Fiend which was difficult, then had to help him walk comfortably with a large slash wound across his chest. It didn't surprise her that the Fiend managed to cut through Geralt's shitty armor, but it didn't make Y/N any happier that he had to purchase new.

The ride back was no easier, Roach didn't mind Y/N much, but she clearly hated having Bart next to her. The reins weren't long enough to tie to Roach's saddle so he walked alongside the brown horse despite Roach's clear annoyance.

Y/N did her best to help her friend/father figure down with ease, but Geralt of Rivia was not light. Especially when Geralt was set on not allowing her to help. The pair argued non-stop as she practically dragged him up the stairs of the inn.

The next morning, Geralt seemed better. Y/N had the town healer give him some sleep inducing medicine so he'd rest up. But alas, his stupid Witcher metabolism blew through the herbs merely five hours later. He jumped up with a start and it scared the girl sitting at the end of the bed in a chair.

She'd fallen asleep after tending to his wounds and didn't bother going to her room. Sleep quickly became the last thing on her mind as she pushed Geralt down, "Get back in bed, you're not healed yet!" Y/N ordered in her best dad voice. Geralt had used that tone of voice plenty of times on her and she knew this would be one of the few chances she got to use it on him.

"I'm fine, Y/N."

"No you aren't, Geralt. You nearly died to saving me."

Geralt huffed loudly before sitting with his back against the bed frame, "You say that like it's a bad thing."

Her jaw dropped at his stupidity. "You dying would be a bad thing!" She exclaimed loudly.

The man across from her merely shrugged his shoulders as silence fell upon the pair. Y/N found herself feeling angry at Geralt's recent behaviour. Ever since they met up with Jaskier, the Witcher has been acting extra sensitive. "How's Jaskier doing?" Geralt's question seemed calculated.

Y/N narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. "How would I know? I've been babysitting you all bloody night. Geralt responded with a 'hmm'. "What's your problem?" She sat up in the chair and put her hands on her knees. "It's like ever since Jaskier showed up, you've got a bee's nest up your arse."

"That's vivid."

Upon hearing Geralt's weak answer, Y/N gasped as she realized what was happening. "My goodness, you're jealous aren't you?" Geralt's eyes widened for a second before he forced a neutral expression, "Of him? I cannot believe this... Geralt of Rivia... is jealous that I've ignored him in favor of some bard."

Geralt clenched his jaw as Y/N began to tease him, "I'm not jealous of him-"

"Hmm. So you do have feelings." She murmured quietly with a smile on her lips, "A jealous wolf... what an interesting sight." Y/N mocked Geralt with a pout, "Does the wittle puppy miss Y/N? It's okay to miss me, I'm amazing."

"Amazingly annoying."

"Not true." She denied with a smile as Geralt finally sighed and gave into her pestering. He returned her grin and it only made Y/N's beaming smile to grow wider. "You're my favorite person, Dad."
