Part 1

Your pov

"Mom,Dad p-please don't do this to me! I-I promise to be good, so please don't sell me!" you cried helplessly as your parents kept pulling you to that place. You were getting closer and closer to black market area and you were terrified of what they would do to you. You did not know what your sin was and a lot of things ran through your mind, thinking what kind of sin that a 10 year old like you would do to upset your parents that they were willing to sell you to the black market. "Shut up you monster! You are the devil's child in the (l/n) household! Those red eyes of yours are proof of it!" your father yelled angrily at you which made you flinch in fear. " Devil.. I'm not a devil!" you yelled at your father. After you had said that a slap was given to your right cheek and you fell down due to its impact. You looked up to see your mother with her hand stretched out. You couldn't believe they would believe that you were the devil's child just because of your eyes and your parents treating you this harshly. Apparently your family was strict when it comes to religion and they believe that those born with red eyes were the child of the devil. The symbol of destruction that would bring doom to the family. You gritted your teeth angrily and you felt something bubbling inside you. Hatred, anger, disappointment? Anything can go wrong right now, and now you need to get away from these monsters. The dreaded moment came when you finally arrived at the area where your parents will finalize the transaction to sell you to the black market people. You noticed how happy they looked when they spoke to the person, and you looked at them with hatred and anger. They were happy that they were finally going to get rid of you. Yes, you who is the black sheep of the family, you who is still a 10 year old girl and know nothing about the outside world. The more you think about it  you become angrier than before and all of a sudden something snapped inside of you.

A dark glow surrounded your body and suddenly you felt like your body was in pain and you screamed in anguish. Your parents and the person who was trying to buy saw the horrifying change that you had become. You had turned into a black and terrifying monster which scared them that they backed away from you.

"I-it's the devil! K-Kill him!" your father screamed at you and you looked at him with your red eyes that he was so afraid of in anger. The buyer pulled out his gun and shot at you 6 times and it didn't hurt you at all. "I need to get away from here!" you screamed mentally. You ran towards the direction of your parents and the buyer and they crouched their bodies in fear and you jumped high that you were on top of the building. You ran as far as you could from them,those monsters who tried to take your freedom as a child.

Timeskip to nighttime

You then stopped after you ran like after you felt like hours had passed. You then felt yourself changed back into your human form as you finally saw your hands and feet that were badly scratched from all of the running using your hands and feet. You looked around you not realizing where you were truly at and you noticed a river, so you decided to go wash your face at the very least. When you saw your reflection on the river's surface, tears started swelling in your eyes. " Am I…a monster just like they said?"  you asked yourself in tears. You wiped your tears angrily. The adults that were supposed to protect had harmed you and that is the moment that you had vowed to not ever trust an adult ever again. You wanted to find out how you had turned into a monster. You decided to test it out and remembered that you felt angry at them before you changed into that. So you decided to remember a portion of the anger that you had felt for them and and you were shocked that your right hand had turned back into a monster like just a few minutes ago. You were able to deduce that you could change into a monster at will if you had felt anger. You didn't know what you should do now, so you decided to use your monster state to your advantage, which is to survive in this world without the help of adults.

Timeskip to 2 months

It has been 2 months since you had just found out that you were able to turn into a monster and also marks the week that you used your advantage to be able to steal food and money. You had completely changed your appearance as you wore boy clothes and had cut your hair short.

You current appearance

You would only steal food when you're in an extreme hunger state. Even though stealing is wrong, you have to do it to survive. During those 2 months you noticed that you were in Yokohama. Even though your surroundings were unknown, you were able to adapt easily to the areas and made sure to calculate your every move, so that no one could find out who you were.  You settled yourself in an old and abandoned warehouse.

You hummed to yourself and tried on the new clothes that you had stolen from a shop since your previous ones were totally torn from the previous events. You wore the clothes and wanted to look at your reflection, so you stepped out of the warehouse and went to the nearest river. You saw your reflection and smiled when you wore the clothes, but you felt sad when you looked at your blood red eyes. The memories of your parents calling you the devil's child just because of it had saddened you.

"Hahh… There's no need to dwell on the past. Right now I have to survive in Yokohama on my own. You can do this (y/n)!" you said in determination. You were about to leave the river, until you saw a glimpse of something… unexpected. You immediately stopped walking and looked in the direction of the unexpected thing. You rubbed your eyes thinking that you were just imagining and to see the very same thing after rubbing your eyes. You saw a pair of legs floating down the river.

Your eyes widened and your mouth fell opened in shock. "I NEED TO SAVE THAT PERSON!"

After saving the mysterious drowning person

You coughed out water and looked helplessly to the stranger. He had brown hair and was covered with bandages like a mummy. You were curious and decided to poke his cheek to see if is alive or not. "Um.. mister are you still alive?" You asked innocently. All of a sudden the man's eyes shot open which made you fall on the ground.

You were shocked that he suddenly got up from his lying state and turned his head to you. "C-creepy…" you mumbled to yourself. "Am I in heaven?!" the man asked you. "Nope." you answered nonchalantly. " You ruined my chance of commiting suicide kid!" he cried dramatically. " How the fuck is that supposed to be suicide attempt.." you said in disbelief. The man looked at you in shock and you looked at him all puzzled, and you realized that you had just cursed. "I'm usually like this mister, so don't mind me for saying vulgar language at this age." you told him. " How old are you, kid? You act a little bit too mature for your age" he asked. " Oh I am 10." you told him. You didn't realize that the man had looked at you quizzically because you ruffled your hair to get rid of the excess water. "By the way mister I have to-" " DAZAI-SAN/ YOU STUPID SUICIDAL WASTE OF BANDAGES!" you hear two voices yelled from across the river. You look around to find the source of the 2 voices and notice a spectacle guy who looks like a teacher and another guy with a strange haircut yelling across the river. The strange haircut looked anxious and worried while the teacher guy looked like he was gonna blow his fuse. " Stupid Dazai! FOR ONCE CAN YOU NOT RUIN MY SCHEDULE?! WE'RE WAY BEHIND TIME AND YET YOU HAVE THE TIME TO JUMP INTO THE RIVER! the teacher yelled.

You looked at the guy who you can assume is Dazai and you gave him a "are you serious?" look. " What? I mean it's a beautiful day to die, you know." Dazai reasoned himself. "Yeah… I don't think that's how committing suicide works." you said. In your mind you just thought that Dazai was one hell of a weirdo and you felt bad for the teacher and the strange haircut guy to be dragged into his mess. " Well… now that your friends have found you, I gotta go back now. My caretakers are gonna be worried if I don't get home on time for dinner " you lied to him. For the past 2 months you mastered the art of deception, which was necessary in your current life, but what you didn't know was the person that you lied to was someone who can see through your deception. Dazai just looked at you amused because he knew that you were lying straight of the bat. "Oh? Trying to lie to me? Let's play along then." Dazai said to himself. He started laughing which caught your attention. You got puzzled that he suddenly laughed and he started ruffling your hair. " Hey stop! Don't ruin my hair mister!" you yelled trying to yank his hand off from your head. " Well kid you wanna eat with me and my friends?" Dazai asked. You became interested with the sudden offer, even though you knew it seemed like a trap, you felt like today you didn't have to steal food again. You decided to act carefully because your instincts were totally telling you to be careful of this man. "Are you sure you are ok with treating me to dinner? You don't seem to be the type to have any cash with you right now." you stated. Despite being 10, you were quite intelligent and you knew what to say based on the atmosphere of the room."Wow you're quite the smart kid. Of course I don't have money, so we're gonna use Kunikida-kun's money." Dazai said. "WHAT DID YOU SAY DAZAI?!" Kunikida yelled from the other side. "Wow he actually heard you from here. You must have used his money a lot during previous occasions." you commented. " I think you haven't properly introduced yourself, mister. What's your name?" you asked. "Dazai. Dazai Osamu. Nice to meet you kid." Dazai introduced himself.

Timeskip to the restaurant

You were sitting at the table at the restaurant with Dazai, Kunikida and Atsushi to which you had known their name from Dazai. You wanted to gobble up the food as fast as you could, but you didn't want them to be suspicious of you being a runaway kid so you ate slowly. You noticed that Dazai kept his gaze on you throughout the whole meal so you told him. "Um Dazai-san.. please stop looking at me. It's creepy and I can't really enjoy my food." Before Dazai could say anything Kunikida who was sitting next to him punched his head hard making you try to hold in your laugh. "Sorry kid. This guy is always like this. On his behalf, thank you for saving him even though you didn't actually need to do it." Kunikida thanked you. "To be honest I have never met someone as weird as him, but you're welcome. Must have been hard on you both to have an annoying colleague." you said while indirectly emphasizing Dazai. You noticed that Dazai had an annoyed look though he didn't show it, so you purposely drank your tea. After you finished drinking your tea, you noticed that Atsushi was fidgeting his fingers, so you wanted to know what was on his mind. "Atsushi-san, do you want to ask me something?" "I just want to know. What were you doing in the area? I mean it's not every day that you see a 10 year old kid going anywhere on their own." Atsushi asked. You became quiet and thought carefully on what to say. " I guess this could work," you said in your mind. " I was just walking there cuz I got bored doing homework in my study room. I'm a kid yet they strapped me down with books and stuff." you pretended to complain. "By 'they' do you mean your parents? If it's like that then we can bring you back to your parents." Kunikida said. You felt quite alarmed with the suggestion that your hands flinched for a bit. You hope no one noticed it, so you answered back. " I'm actually from the orphanage. Don't worry about it Kunikida-san. I can go home on my own just fine " you said trying to reassure him. "B-but it's already nighttime and-" " I can go home on my own just fine. Don't worry about it." you pressed on. By now you know that Dazai would have felt something was off, but it was better this way than to let them know that you were lying. "Well.. that's a bit. It's kinda dangerous now since there's a sighting of a black monster that was sighted around this area." Atsushi explained to you. "What's this black monster that you guys are speaking about?" you asked. "Over the past 2 months there have been many reports of a black monster stealing and breaking into restaurants. Not to mention just a month ago, it had stolen a lot of things from other places as well." Kunikida told you. "Yup. We're going to track it down and find out what's the purpose of that monster to steal those things. As detectives we can't just stand by those acts." Atsushi told you. Your heartbeat was beating so fast since you didn't expect to be given a bomb. Of course you were on the wanted list. When you went to the town to do your business you would occasionally see your monster state being shown on television. It was declared on television that those who work in the Armed Detective Agency will be the one to capture you and right now you were sitting in the same room with those people. " Right now I'm sure that monster will be out tonight. That thing is quite swift with its movements." Dazai said. You weren't listening to anything they were saying because all that you had in your mind was getting out of there, so you just answered whatever came up in your head. "That thing won't show up tonight. It's already been satiated. you answered. Atsushi looked at you all puzzled. "What do you mean satiated (y/n)-kun?" Atsushi asked. " Welp I would love to answer you but it's already 11 p.m. I gotta go now. Thanks for treating me!" you said and bowed before leaving the restaurant. Dazai just smirked after you left, which got Kunikida's attention. " Why are you smirking?" Kunikida asked. " Well I think I already have an idea who our black monster is. We just need to lure it out." Dazai said nonchalantly. "WHAT?!" Kunikida and Atsushi both yelled.

Himiko: I'M BACK GUYS!!!! I'm finally free and have the motivation to write again although this chapter was supposed to be a book😅

Atsushi: What happened Himiko-chan? You haven't updated for about a month!

Himiko: I had to finish wrapping things up for my internship and presentation so I stayed away from writing for a bit. Also I had to catch up on a few animes that I have wanted to watch so yeah.. SORRY NOT SORRY GUYS😔

Yosano: Thank god nothing bad happen and congratulations on finishing your internship! You deserved that rest tbh. Care for your mental health more❤️

Himiko: Yosano-san... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I decided to not go in with making a book cuz I don't want to write out a book and leave it hanging. So I have to improvise it into chapters in this one shot book.

Dazai: Just say that you're lazy tbh.😬

Himiko: SHUT YOUR MOUTH! DON'T MAKE ME WRITE AN ANGST FOR YOU DUE TO CHAPTER 109! I already regretted reading it cuz it was on my fyp page😭

Dazai: ... Without further ado, we hope you all like this chapter and until then goodbye 👋. (Leaves the scene)

Himiko: What the this mf?! Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that chapter. If anything just blame Asagiri Kafka for releasing that chapter. I'm bawling eyes out cuz I ain't watching season 5 until all the episodes have been aired.

Atsushi: That's some willpower you have Himiko-chan...🥲

Yosano: Girlie is gonna bawl her eyes out even more if she reads the manga again💀
