Chapter four,
mommy's dirty little secret
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
her hands were simply gliding against the entire sink in simple search for the faucet until she had found it, curiously assuming she had turned the cold one only to immediately turn it off, "That's definitely not it, let's try the other one." Her hand had simply glided against the next one, turning it on and sighed in relief it was the right one.
She casually remained in the bathroom for twenty minutes attempting to get the stench of alcohol out of her body, despite changing into his extra clothes, she still felt like she smelled like alcohol. A shower sounds right about now despite not really in the mood on even wanting a second shower, again.
Though, a light giggle had escape her lips. She was simply recalling at what Chad called her, his girlfriend. No one's ever call her that before.
Her phone vibrating, again was heard that instantly made her search for her phone in the bathroom counter until she found out it, and had unzipped the bag as she swiftly pulled out her phone, answering, "Que Paso, Mami?" She slowly asked her mom, it was her second time calling her tonight.
The sound of Mariana's voice was laced in complete worrisome, "No me asustes así, amor. Pensé que había pasado algo." She was simply watching the news earlier tonight and had heard about a teacher who was murdered in an alleyway. It genuinely terrified her.
Citlali felt quite bad for leaving her mom worried, especially with the worrisome mixed with relief that was laced all over her moms voice, as Citali spoke to her mom, "I'm okay, Mami. I came to a party with, Anika. Probably the last that I'll ever go to. . . people are mean, the only good thing was bumping into Chad, and recognizing his voice." She rambled.
She had a habit of constantly rambling. It sometimes felt like a bad habits of hers, a part of her begins to get self conscious, and asking herself if her voice is getting annoying? Blah, blah, blah. All of the usual things over-thinkers do.
Marina responded back to her daughter, a part of her had a bright idea on what could've possibly occurred on the party for her daughter to despise parties, speaking to her in honesty and some bluntness, "I'm sorry, Corazón. We live in a world that's filled with assholes, and assholes that don't deserve your kind heart, but talk to me about lover boy?" She was on break, and she simply wanted to hear about the boy she usually sees with her daughter, and simply ignoring the reasoning into why her daughter was a sweetheart.
She raised her daughter to be a sweetheart, she didn't want her to turn out exactly like him, and hold all these horrible intrusive thoughts, and somehow make it realistic. Simple guilt was settling in her body of the thing she was hiding from her daughter, especially on how Billy Loomis only seen her when she was just a baby before he was simply shot multiple times by the entire police enforcement, and that her pleads didn't matter. He never had a chance to watch Citlali grow up.
The police enforcement didn't care about his child who would have no father figure, or a wife that he had left behind. She was a widow with a child, his child.
And, out of her very fear on not wanting her daughter to turn into an exact version of him, and losing her the same way she had lost him, she had made sure to teach her daughter to be a genuine person, and she had done just that had raised her as a genuine person.
Citlali had smiled with the phone in her ear, and attempting not to squeal, "He's so amazing mom, he treats me so well. I've never freaking felt this damn feeling before, it's like my heart is beating so. . . so fast, and then I just feel my cheeks heat up, especially when he's protective of me. He makes me feel — " A part of her had quietly paused as she didn't want to be so loud and accidentally have someone overhear her conversation, so she had quietly said the next part, "Loved. . . I have never felt that by a guy before." She quietly rambled.
Mariana simply screeched in complete excitement, she was so damn excited that her daughter was experiencing this type of love and he treats her well, "I'm glad, Corazón. I'm so happy that you have encountered him at the cafe, he's so in love with you." She noticed on how protective he is of Citlali, and constantly listens to her ramble, and the smile never leave his lips, especially on several occasions when she as caught the two asleep together in the sofa on the weekends, and how he holds onto her along with her clinging onto him, "Are you heading home soon?" Mariana randomly asked her daughter.
Citlali quickly responded, "We had made a quick stop at his friends house, so I change my clothes. . . i accidentally spilled alcohol on me, and you know me. . . hate being in dirty or wet clothes." She practically lied about the girl who spilled alcohol on her, she knew that her mom would go extreme lengths to find that girl, and Chad would literally help locate the girl who did it. She didn't want them to get in trouble over this minor convenience.
Mariana was confused, "What friend?"
Citlali softly answered, "Some girl named, Samantha Carpenter." She didn't think much of anything.
Mariana remained silent. This was never supposed to happen, she didn't ever want her daughter near Samantha Carpenter, the fear of Samantha having a good look of her daughter, and seeing the similarities. She can't have them knowing of each other's existence.
If they begin to know of each other's existence, Citlali will know of Billy Loomis.
Her biological dad.
Mariana was in complete silence on the other line of the call until she had instantly snapped out of her own thoughts, "I have to go, Citlali. I'll see you in the morning." She didn't wait for her daughter to speak, abruptly hanging up the phone.
Citlali found it a very bit suspiciously weird, especially because her mom always calls her Corazón once their hanging up. And, she didn't even call her that.
Her phone instantly vibrating, again had caught her off guard, so she had answered with no damn hesitation, "Did you forget to tell me something, Mami?" Her nose scrunched up.
The same disoriented voice from earlier, spoken, "Mommy's secret is going to get her killed, Citlali." The voice snickered in amusement.
Citlali was scared, "How did you get my number? Leave me alone!" Her voice slightly raised.
The voice simply mocked her back in amusement, "Doesn't matter how I have retrieved your number, Citlali. Don't you want to know mommy's dirty little secret before she ends up dead in a few days?" He taunted her.
Citlali wasn't even finding this conversation voiced, her heart was pounding out of her own chest, "She isn't hiding anything from me, you or whosever is on the other line isn't funny, a prank is supposed to make you laugh not this." She remarked back.
"This isn't a prank call, Citlali. Your sister, mother and you are all going to pay." He had growled in pure hatred because anyone in simple relations to Billy Loomis, or involvement on someone he held dearly has to die.
And, starting with Mariana Perez.
The call had ended that only left Citlali standing beside the bathroom counter, her heart was just pounding so quickly, she was so scared, the sound of someone knocking was heard that instantly made her flinch.
Eyes were roaming to the left, "W-who's there?"
A very familiar voice, "Chad. . . you okay in there, Sweetheart?" His voice was laced in a bit concern.
Citlali immediately walked a few steps forward in search of the doorknob until she had found it, and opening the door up to be met with a figure, she had instantly pulled him into a hug, her body was trembling in fear, "I'm so scared, Chad." Her lips were trembling, she didn't have the words to say what occurred to make her so scared.
He had wrapped his arms around her waist, he didn't know what could've possibly made her so afraid, "You're okay, Citlali. You're okay, I'm right here." He calmly soothed her back by just dragging his hand up and down, as he could still feel her body trembling against his very own body, he was just simply attempting to calm her down, whispering gentle words into her ear that was slowly calming her down.
