Chapter 9: True Intentions

At Jeffrey's Office, the last guard locked the cell door containing Mumbo. The hermits glared at them.

"Well done boys!" Jeffrey congratulated as she entered the room. The hermits' glare looks like it could melt them any minute.

Jeffrey looked back and forth between them, her smile faltering when she noticed two of them missing.

She let out an angry growl. "You idiots! You forgot somebody! Two somebodies!" she screamed at her guards, who took a step back in shock.

"Wh-what? Who?" one guard asked in fear.

Jeffrey pinched the bridge of her nose. "That little gremlin and that admin of theirs, that's who" she replied sarcastingly. "Who did you last capture?"

Every guard in the room pointed towards Mumbo.

"Where are you friends?" she asked angrily.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Mumbo lied. He was suddenly jerked in front of his cell when Jeffrey yanked the collar of his shirt.

"Where are they?!" she repeated, Mumbo gulping in fear.

"Hey! Nobody messes with our friends!" Tango defended.

"Yeah, you'll have to go through us first!" Doc added.

Jeffrey rolled her eyes and let go of Mumbo, albeit hard.

"I don't even care of what you think of me anymore" she declared. "It's either you tell me where on Roblox are those friends of yours, or I'll have to get it the hard way"

"But we already told you! We don't know!" Stress argued. She yelped when a cup flew into her direction.

"You'll pay for that!" some of the boys exclaimed. Jeffrey rolled her eyes and turned towards her guards.

"Find them. And none of you are going back until you have the both of them. Got it?!" she ordered.

Her guards saluted, one nearly hitting his eye in shock. "Yes Ma'am!"

"Good, now go!" the guards all scrambled out of the office, sans Jeremy.

"You'll never find them!" Ren exclaimed.

"Yeah, Grian and X are way too clever to be fooled you" False added.

"Really?" Jeffrey turned towards their direction, fake sweetness in her voice. "Last I checked, you believed me when I let you out of prison. How did that end for you?"

The hermits remained silent but kept glaring at her.

Jeffrey shrugged. "Thought so. And since none of you were willing to cooperate, we'll just have to do this the hard way. Mmkay?" she asked, leaning face to face with Impulse.

"Never" he spatted.

Jeffrey smiled at his courage. "Suit yourself"

"Jeremy" she called out.

"Yes?" Jeffrey bowed down.

"Prepare the room. You know what to do" Jeremy nodded and left the room.

Jeffrey looked at the hermits one last time before leaving the room herself.

Back at Mad City, Grian and X were watching their surroundings now that they were wanted.

"Hey" The two jumped out a few blocks, and were prepared to run if they didn't see the Quintuple Trouble beside them.

"Will you stop doing that?" X asked.

The quintuplets just smiled innocently.

"So, how does being a real criminal feels like?" Four asked.

"Awful" X replied.

"Especially since we don't know what we did wrong!" Grian added.

For the first time since they met, the Quintuple Trouble were serious. And you know the situation is bad when they're serious.

"Look, right now, you're considered as the most wanted criminals in all of Roblox, not just Mad City. We could easily bust you right now" One stated.

"Ok? That's not really helpful" Grian pointed out.

"We know" Three muttered.

"But we're here to help you out. Criminal to criminal" One continued.

"What do you mean?" X asked.

"The 'good guys' don't understand this. Well, if you could call them the good guys at all, they're the villains sometimes" Two explained.

"True" Grian and X muttered.

"Criminals help other criminals out, no matter how worse their crime is" Five explained.

"Really?"

"Yep. That's what we did when you guys were brought to prison right?" Four stated.

Grian and X were unimpressed. "Yeah, you helped A LOT" Grian replied sarcastingly.

"That's because you're new, and not to mention there's like 20 of you" Three explained.

"Anyways" One interrupted. "If you want, we could hide you somewhere where those guards won't find you" he offered.

They were about to say yes, when X thought of something. "But we don't want you to get hurt in the process"

The quintuplets just brushed it off.

"Don't care. Criminals help others out remember?" Five pointed out.

"But Jeffrey is planning something. We don't know what, but we know it's bad"

The Quintuple Trouble nodded in understanding. They bid their farewell, reminding the two that they're still willing to help and they'll be around.

As the five were leaving, the two felt something behind them. Or rather, someone.

"We meet again" Mark announced.

Grian looked at X, who nodded ever so slightly. They tried to run, but the guards were quicker. They grabbed them before they could get away. They struggled on their grips, X having the most luck out of the two. He managed to yank away from the guard, but was pulled back by Bulk who grabbed his helmet. X quickly unstrapped his helmet which caused both of them to fly. The moment he was free, X ran, his helmet colliding on the road.

Grian wasn't so lucky. He bit the guard's hand, causing him to let go. He tried to run, but was grabbed by at least five of them. He struggled, but to no avail. He just watched helplessly as X ran away from Bulk, his helmet rolling down to his feet.

"Xisuma!" he called out, albeit muffled from the hand holding his mouth. Grian just gave up, letting the guards drag him to his fate.

X peeked around the curb, holding the hood over his head. He saw Grian being dragged away by Jeffrey's minions. He felt guilty for not doing anything to help Grian while he ran away.

His muscles tensed when somebody held a hand over his mouth. Remembering his times in Hermitcraft where he have to fight, he twisted out of the person's grip and kicked him hard. He was ready to run, if not for Four and Three to calm him down.

"Owww. Dude, seriously, what do you guys do in Minecraft?" Two complained, holding his stomach in pain.

"Sorry" X apologized, helping Two up.

"It's fine. Ow" Two winced.

Once he calmed down, X was confused. "What are you guys doing here?"

"Didn't we mention that we'll be sticking around?" Four reminded.

X let out an 'oh' before looking down.

"We saw what happened" One said quietly.

"And we want to help" Five added.

"How?" X asked, losing hope.

"Follow us. And please no karate moves" Two winced as they led him deeper into the curb. They got in an alley with a lot of garbage.

"Geez, Roblox does love garbage. Do you guys ever clean things around here?" X complained, holding his nose in disgust.

"No time" Three replied vaguely.

"Like we have" X muttered.

"What do you do in Minecraft anyways?" Two asked.

"We build things, explore, fight monsters, the usual" X explained.

All five looked at him weird.

"We're here" One announced.

X looked around the area. He saw nothing, but garbage. "Where's here exactly?"

The Quintuple Trouble pointed to a sewer cover.

"Another sewer?"

"More than that. Come on" The quintuplets said, climbing down. X looked at it in disgust before climbing after the group. He will regret this.

What he wasn't expecting was a base: clean, high tech, and no sewer smell.

"Woah"

"Welcome to the Quintuple Trouble Hidden Hideout!" the quintuplets announced.

It was definitely different than what you expected from these five. There's computers galore, and a pile of treasure on one corner. It looks like a Superhero's base.

"This is amazing" X breathed.

"You don't have these things at Minecraft?"

Xisuma just shook his head no, while touring around the area.

"Well, good to know we have something here on Roblox that you don't have in Minecraft" Five stated, casually leaning on a control panel.

"Trust me, there's a lot. Oh, and it's called Hermitcraft, not just Minecraft" X pointed out.

"Potato Tomato. Anyways, you could stay here for the mean time while we figure out how to get to Jeffrey's lair" One said, moving over to the computers where Three is.

"So, X, we can call you that right? Tell us more about yourself, and He-rmitcraft?" Four inquired.

X sighed and told them everything he knew.

"Wow, your world is as crazy as ours" Three stated from his spot in the computers.

"So let me get this straight, your world is run by a code that controls everything, throws you into a new world whenever a version comes up, has to survive from the night and build stuff?" Five asked.

"Pretty much" X muttered.

"And all in survival?!" Five continued.

"Yep"

The other four siblings rolled their eyes at Five's actions. Couldn't blame him really.

"And you're the admin?" Five continued, eyes gleaming with awe.

"Five" the others called out.

"It's ok. Used to it anyways" X chuckled.

"What's weirding me out is that why Jeffrey wants you guys so badly. Sure, you're criminals for being in two worlds, but normally she just let's other ex-minecrafters here without problem" Two pointed out.

All of a sudden, alarms started blaring around the base.

"Warning! Intruder Alert! Warning!" a female robot voice repeated through the speakers.

"I thought nobody could find us here!" Xisuma exclaimed.

"We thought that too" Three muttered and began typing rapidly on the computers, when guards entered the area. They all grabbed the Quintuple Trouble, sans Xisuma.

"Xisuma! RUN!" One ordered while struggling with the guard holding him.

X did what he was told but was grabbed from behind by Bulk and Mark and a couple other guards.

"No!" X exclaimed as he was cuffed behind the back.

"You have no idea how much trouble we've been in just to get you" Mark spatted, acid in his voice while Bulk grunted angrily.

"Let me go!" X struggled against his captors.

"Too late Xisuma, too late" the British guard said in a scary way. Bulk and Mark just glared at him.

"What?"

"What are you going to do?" X asked.

"Oh, we're not doing anything to you. Jeffrey is. Let's go" Mark ordered. The guards followed his lead and began to lead X out of the base.

"Hey! You're not taking him anywhere!" Five exclaimed, stopping the guards in their tracks.

"What are we going to do with them Mark?" one guard asked. Mark studied them and snapped his fingers to the guards holding the Quintuple Trouble down.

"Release them. On one condition, none of you are following us. If you do, you'll never see 'em again" Mark threatened, pointing at X. The latter just looked at them with his eyes, telling them to follow.

The Quintuple Trouble nodded slowly, fear in their eyes. The guards holding them released their grips, and soon they disappeared in the darkness, Xisuma in tow.

"Now what?" Five asked the team.

At Jeffrey's Office

The hermits just waited in their cells, hoping that Grian and Xisuma managed to get away. Jeffrey is just there in the corner, reading a magazine casually, when the doors burst open. The guards pushed Grian in front of them.

"Ma'am, we got him" one guard called out. The hermit's eyes just widened in shock.

"Didn't I tell you to not come back until you have both of them?" Jeffrey asked in an innocent tone.

The guards' eyes widened in realization. "Uhhh..."

"Didn't I?"

"Uh, yes"

"Good. And where is he?"

"Uhhh..."

"Don't tell me he got away. How disappointing. And you wouldn't want me to be disappointed now do you?"

"Ma'am! T-the others went out to look for him. They'll be back soon!" one guard exclaimed.

Jeffrey looked up from her checking her nails. "Oh really? Then what happens if they return without him in tow? What's gonna happen?"

The guards were silent. They all looked down to the ground, avoiding eye contact.

"Figures" Jeffrey shrugged. "Oh well, I guess there's no point in getting angry now that you're here. But I'm not gonna let this pass"

The guards gulped loudly at what she just said.

Jeffrey smirked. "Until I have Xisumavoid in my hands, you are not free from your punishment. Understand?"

Her guards looked down once more. "Yes Ma'am"

"Good. I'll meet you at the courtyard after I've dealt with this" Jeffrey ordered, grabbing Grian from the guards, who left the area immediately.

"What are you going to do with X?" Grian asked angrily while Jeffrey drags him to an empty cell.

"Just you wait and see Grian. I don't want to ruin the surprise too early" Jeffrey replied, pushing him to the cell then closing the door afterwards.

"But for now, you stay here while I wait for my prize"

"We'll see about that. X got away and there's nothing you could do about it" Grian replied, leaning over the bars.

"And where would he go? I'm sure he's still somewhere around Mad City, maybe with the Quintuple Trouble?"

Grian's eyes widened. "How did you-"

"They're the only people in Mad City who's willing to help you. I doubt the heroes were willing to let you in their base after you betrayed their trust"

Grian remained silent after Jeffrey said that.

Suddenly, one guard entered the room. He cleared his throat. "Ma'am? They're here"

Jeffrey turned to him and crossed her arms. "How do I know you're not faking it?"

The guard looked down and thought of ways he could explain. As if on cue, Bulk came in and cleared his throat, scaring the other guard.

"Bulk? Anything to report?" Jeffrey asked the newly arrived guard.

Bulk nodded and took out X's helmet, causing the hermits' eyes to widened.

Jeffrey raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "And he escaped?" she asked in a flat tone.

"Actually, he's right here" Jeremy answered for him, dragging Xisuma beside him. The hermits let out a loud gasp.

Jeffrey smiled evilly to herself. "Good, I thought I might have to look around the city myself" she replied sarcastingly. Nobody in the room laughed, in fear of being destroyed.

"Bulk, guard them. Make sure they don't do anything crazy" she ordered.

Bulk grunted and sat down on where she was sitting before, glaring at the hermits, who just shrank back in their cell.

Jeffrey left the room, followed by Mark and Jeremy, who just hold Xisuma tight.

"Where are you taking me?" X demanded.

"Just wait and you'll see" Jeffrey replied vaguely.

X struggled against the two. "Let me go!"

"After we're done with what we're doing" Mark replied, keeping his grip firm.

They stopped in front of a white door. Jeffrey inputted a code, leading them to the room inside.

X let out a loud gasp. There was a giant machine in the middle, with a lot of wires connected to it.

"What is that thing?" he asked fearfully, trying to get away from that thing as much as possible.

"Oh this thing? This is just the thing that will take away your admin powers" Jeffrey replied proudly and evilly.

"What? But why?" X asked, keeping his distance more now that he knew what this thing does, Mark and Jeremy not helping his case.

Jeffrey rolled her eyes. "Isn't it obvious? I'm going to take over the world what else?! With your admin powers, I could do anything I want"

"B-but, if you take my admin powers, I'll-"

"Cease to exist, being connected to the code and all. I know, don't care. Shall we begin?"
