I wake up to the sound of voices talking in the room. I lat there silently, hoping whoever it is does not notice that I'm awake.
"He is a demon hunter! He opened the portal and let the others out! He doesn't actually do anything. He's just a worthless, screwed up mate of some random demon," a man's voice yells. My eyes prick with tears as I turn to face the wall.
"It wasn't his fault Ergor!" Kaiser says. I start shaking as I hear someone storm out of the room. They slam the door and I jump in bed. I sit up, my open wide.
Kaiser stands there in shock. I stand up and look at her.
"Is that all I am to you?!?" I scream. Will wakes up. He sits up and rubs his eyes. Tears pour down my face.
" I know its my fault, okay? Its my fault I let the demons out. Its my fault I didn't protect the portal better. Its my fault everyone is in this situation! " my voice rises. Will gets off the bed and walks over to me. He goes to grab my arm but I pull away from him.
"Im leaving! I've caused you guys enough trouble anyways," I state. I run out of the room, my vision blurry.
I hear Kaiser and Will yell after me. I run through the front door and spread my wings. I fly up into the air. The sun beats down on my back but I flap my wings harder, trying to get away from them.
"Ash?!"
" Ash! Come back! Please! "
I see a mountain in the distance and I dart towards it. My eyes blur and I swipe at the tears with my hand. I sigh frustrated at the tears. I come up on the rocky mountain.
I fly around the mountain and look around for a cave. I find one and dive headfirst into it. I tumble to the floor and lay in a heap. I lay there, catching my breath and letting my wings rest. The cool ground soothes my sunburnt back.
I sit up slowly, looking out the opening of the cave. I see wings fly by occasionally and I press myself to the wall of the cave.
The hours tick by slowly as less and less demons fly by. At dinner time the commotion stops completely.
I walk to the opening of the cave and sit leaning against the smooth wall. The sun goes down slowly and the clear sky turns pink and red.
I look back over at the house as I realize that I didn't bring any of my stuff with me. I sigh and spread my wings.
I fly back to the house, keeping low to the ground so I'm not seen by anyone. I check my watch as I walk fly up to the roof. 12:30am. Perfect.
The moon is covered by a group of clouds as I silently open the window to the room my stuff is in. I sneak in peering at Will. He breathes slowly, a sure sign that he's asleep.
I grab my stuff and strap my rapier to my waist. As I go to fly out the window, my wings knock a book off of the dresser. Will sits up suddenly, his eyes locking on me.
"Ash!" He yells. As he gets up, I jump out of the window. I fly over to the car and put my keys in. I start the ignition and drive off.
I sigh as I watch the trees fly by. That was close.
"Ash," someone says from the back seat of my car. I slam my foot on the brakes and the car comes to a jolting halt.
I look back and see Ergor staring at me. He gets out of the car and opens my door. He pulls me out roughly and throws me on the ground. I scoot back as he steps forwards. A knife is clutched in his hand.
"You know, it wasn't that hard to trick them into letting me join them. I mean, they have practically no regulations for who can join. As you have already guessed by now, I'm a spy for Polly. But nobody can know that. So I guess I'm just going to have to kill you, " he cackles.
I hear wings beats coming closer, but they aren't close enough. Ergor lunges at me and I roll to avoid him. I jump up and pull out my rapier. He throws the knife at me and I sidestep away from it.
I pick up the knife and throw it as far as I can into the forest. Kaiser and Will land beside me. Kaiser takes out a gun and shoots Ergor. His body falls to the ground.
Kaiser goes to pick him up and Will walks over to me. He stands in front of me, glaring. Kaiser flies off with Ergor and leaves me and Will alone. I sheath my rapier and turn to face Will.
"What did you do that for?! We were so worried!" Will says. His eyes shine with tears. I look down at my shoes.
" You don't actually need me for anything. Do you? " I ask. I look anywhere but at Will. I feel him lift up my chin. His green eyes burn into my brown ones.
"You are the most amazing demon I know. You are smart and strong and beautiful. I love you. And I need you," he says, his voice cracking.
He lays his hand on the side of my face. I lean into his touch and he smiles at me. He leans in and kisses me. I put my hand in his hair as he grabs my waist and pulls me closer. 
His huge wings wrap around us, making a little cocoon. He bites down on my bottom lip, making me gasp. He takes the chance and slides his tongue into my mouth. My tail starts wagging and his does the same. His tongue explores my mouth as his hands run through my hair.
He pulls away and looks at me. His face is flushed red and I have a good idea of what mine looks like. His lips are slightly swollen and I smirk. I lean against his chest as he plays with my hair. 
His wings unwrap from around us as he takes my hand and guides me to the car. We get in the car and he drives back towards the house. I turn on the radio and sing along to the song.

Will opens the car door and the music shuts off. He walks over to my door and opens it. He helps me out of the car and we walk up to the front door.
I grip his hand as we walk inside. Caramel runs up to me. She hugs my legs and I pat her head.
"Where were you? I missed you," she asks. Tears prick my eyes and I gulp.
" I went out for a little while. I needed to clear my head, " I tell her. She nods and runs back to Kaiser. She waves at me and I wave back.
Will pulls me up the stairs to our room. He opens the door and I walk to the closet. I change into my pajamas and walk back into the room.
Will lays passed out on the bed. I chuckle and lay down next to him. I snuggle into his chest and fall asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
