I wake up with a kink in my neck. I try to sit up but William is laying on top of me. I move Will's head into my lap and sit up. I stretch out my neck. I look out the window to see that we are in the middle of nowhere. I look back at Will.
I start playing with his hair. It's really soft and the whiteness makes it shine in the moonlight. I hear Kaiser laugh. I look up to see her holding out a picture on her phone. It's of me and Will.
I have my fingers through his hair and I'm smiling like an idiot. Will looks perfect. His head nestled in my lap and arms around my waist.
"You better send me that," I whisper to her. She nods. The car stops at a gas station.
" Wake up Will. We need to get food and stuff, " Kaiser says. I nod. I shake Will lightly. He groans and opens his eyes.
"We need to get food at this gas station. You need to get up," I say. He sits up from my lap. I open the car door and step out. Will follows me into the gas station.
Kaiser gets more gas for the car and fills up the extra gas holders I have in the back of my car. Me and Will go to the bathroom and then grab some candy and other foods. I grab a bag of oranges, because they're my favorite.
We walk up to the register and set all of our stuff down. The lady gives us a weird look but shrugs it off and rings us up.
"That will be $216.84" She says. Will grabs out his card and pays for everything before I could object. The lady hands us the bags and we walk back to the car.
I put everything in the back and the perishables in the cooler that Kaiser filled with ice. We get back in the car and Kaiser drives off.
"Do you need a break? I could drive for a while," I say. She shakes her head no.
"Demons don't need sleep. Some just like to, " She says looking at Will. I laugh.
"You guys eat though right?" I ask. She nods. Will tenses up beside me.
" Though we usually eat just dead animals, but we can adapt. Plus human food tastes way better, " She explains.
I look at Will. He won't look at me. I lift his head up to face me with my index finger. He looks away.
"Will. I don't care that you used to eat dead animals. I do too. I usually cook them but I'm not vegan or vegetarian or anything," I state.
I let go of his chin. He nestles his head in my chest. I sigh contentedly.
"We're almost there," Kaiser says. I sit up. Will looks out the window at the new place. Kaiser stops the car at a house. I look at her confused. She smiles at me and waves to get out. I follow her into the house.
It's huge! There are at least ten bedrooms. There are mini living rooms everywhere. There is a huge kitchen that has four fridges. I look at Kaiser.
"What is this place?" I ask in wonder. She chuckles.
" This is the house of the demons who don't want to be in Polly's scheme, " she states. Will takes my hand and pulls me up the stairs. He walks into the last room in the left corridor.
"This is our room," he states opening the door. I look around. It has one king sized bed, a couch in the corner and a big window on one wall. The wall across from the bed has a tv and a door to what I'm guessing is the bathroom. The wall right beside the bed has two black dressers.
I stare at it in awe. It's awesome. I kick off my shoes and jump on the bed. I hear Will chuckle behind me. I sigh in content.
"I'm never getting up again." I state. I feel Will sit down on the bed beside me. I look up at him.
His green eyes shine in merriment. I smile at him. He kicks off his shoes and lays beside me. I turn to face him.
He grabs my waist and pulls me against him. I blush and hide my face in his chest. He rubs my back for a minute and then pulls my head up to face him.
"You're beautiful." He states. I look away blushing harder than before. He turns me to face him.
His olive green eyes pull me in. I can feel his breath on my lips. I look down at his plump pink ones.
"Ash..." He breathes. I look at him. His cheeks are bright red. I chuckle softly.
He leans in and I meet him halfway there. His lips brush against mine softly. He pulls back and looks at me.
I smile at him but suddenly a jolt of pain courses through my back.
"AGHH!" I yell. He sits up quickly. Kaiser bursts in. I feel something wet and hot running down my back. Will picks me up and brings me to what I'm guessing is the infirmary.
"M-make it st-stop," I plead. Will holds my hand. I feel my bones breaking and fixing themselves into a new pattern on my back. Kaiser brings a towel and wipes up some of the blood.
" What did you do to him?! " She exclaims. Will looks at her confused.
"I kissed him..." He trails off. I scream in pain when Kaiser wipes up some blood on my back. I squeeze Will's hand tighter. She stops suddenly processing what Will said.
"You do know that kissing a human will make them a demon correct?" She asks. Will shakes his head.
" I didn't have parents to tell me that kind of stuff, " He states. Kaiser goes back to wiping blood off my back. The pain becomes unbearable and I pass out.
