Now I'm more afraid of my first night with him then saying I do. 

I still stood there with a stiff body as my body had lost its power to move. He was still mad at me because of it. It was clear in his words that he will make me pay for not going with him home yesterday. He will have his revenge and my heart thumped even faster as my hands shook as this bittersweet fear took over me after his open declaration of claiming me. 

What evil he has in his mind!  

"Kitten what is taking you so long" I heard dad's voice and it made me come out of my daze. I looked at the overflowing jar and closed the water purifiers tab as now water was overflowing on the kitchen island. 

"C--coming dad. I will be there in a second'' I shouted in my little stammering voice as I took the water jar in my hands and headed to the dining room. 

"Here is our soon to be bride," said aunty Jenifer with a big smile on her face as she saw me coming. Now all the people's eyes were on me and it made me feel nervous as I never like to be the center of attraction. I felt his predatory eyes on me but I didn't look at him or else I will spill all the water on the floor. I gave her a small smile and walked in more without looking at him. I kept the water jar on the dining table and looked up to find an empty seat for me. Almost all seats were occupied and the only vacant seat available was beside him. 

"Kitten go take your seat" dad said as I was looking at the seat beside him with that bittersweet fear in my eyes. I nodded at him and headed towards the vacant seat. He had still not looked at me as if now I was invisible to his predatory eyes. He showed like he was busy talking with Zanvil who was sitting opposite of him with Jane beside him. Jane gave me a big smile as I took my seat. On my right, Hazel was sitting and in front of her was sitting nonother than Skyler. 

"What took you so long," Hazel asked me in her whispering tone while looking at me. I don't know why my face even burned red when she asked me that question. Maybe her question reminded me of the words he said to me. Or to be exactly what he will do to me once I say I do. 

"Nothing. I was searching for a water jar, and it made me a little late" I said with a faint smile on my face. 

"Really. So it's nothing to do with Jack coming out of the kitchen before you," she teased me, making my face burn even red. I looked at her with wide eyes and did everyone else too notice it. I looked at Jane and she smiled with the same teasing mischief look in her eyes as if she knew what Hazel had asked me. 

"God your face is so red that even tomatoes," she said in her teasing voice while laughing. 

"Stop it, Hazel I will laugh at you like this when it's your turn," I said in my low voice making her grin more. 

"That day won't come because I don't want to get married to anyone," she said confidently, making me raise my eyebrow at her. 

"Are you sure about it?" I asked in my firm voice while looking at her and then at Skyler who was looking at us as if we were discussing some top secret and he was hell curious to know about it. I knew Hazel was aware of his curious gaze on her but she raised her head still not looking at him. 

"Yes," she said. I could sense the little hesitation in her voice as she answered me. I saw how she was trying to control her emotions. 

"Well my friend we'll see," I said in my challenge tone. I have been in that same place and I know how your fate makes you succumb to things you don't want in your life. 

Listening to my words she gave me the same challenge smile but the little uneasy which was glinting in her eyes didn't hide from my eyes as she looked at Skyler for a split of seconds. I knew something was cooking in between them. Before I could start my investigation on them I felt Jack moving beside me. I was trying to distract myself by thinking about Hazel and Skyler but he had some different planes in his mind. 

He wanted to occupy my mind for now. 

He moved towards me to take a plate of food while resting his hand on my thigh. He could have asked me to pass it but he takes his chance to touch me in front of everyone. His faces were just an inch away from mine as he took the plate acting like he was not doing anything to me. He went back to talking with Zanvil ignoring me again like he didn't just squish my thigh before taking his hand away. He is messing with my brain so badly. His behavior was spreading this sweet fear further in me. I took a deep breath not wanting to get the effect of his doing on me. I tried to keep my facial expression intake but inside me, butterflies were flapping their wings fast making me more nervous. 

The rest of the dinner went like this with him touching me and behaving like he didn't do it on purpose. Most of the time he was trying to ignore me but once I removed his hand away and he shot me his mad look and this time I ignored him. I knew what game he was playing. He was making me more afraid of that day by doing this. Dad and all the elders discussing my and Jack's wedding preparation. Aunty Sam was so excited about all the preparations. They were now discussing the wedding venue. 

"We should hold the wedding in the church as so many people are going to come" aunty Sam said in her excited voice. 

"Yeah I agree with you we should hire the same wedding decorator we hired for Jane and Zanvil's wedding," aunty Jenifer said. 

"Yeah, he was quite good. I'm taking the girls and Nina tomorrow for the wedding dress selection and you are coming with me. I need your help" aunty Same said to aunt Jenifer. She nodded at her in yes as they continued discussing the next about the cake and all as I had left everything on their shoulder. 

They both were busy in their world. We were almost done with our food and the girls dragged me with them to eat ice cream in the living room where Jack and the boys went to discuss their plan. Now we all were sitting on the couch eating our ice cream. The only person missing from my bridesmaid squad was Ava. She couldn't make it today as she had gone to her parents but she is coming back tomorrow. She is too going to be one of my bridesmaids. 

"So are you excited about selecting your wedding dress?" Jane asked while looking at me as she was eating her ice cream. 

"Yeah a little," I said as I felt little jitters imagining myself in a wedding dress. 

"I'm excited to wear my bridesmaid dress and---," Hazel said in her excited voice. 

"Hello, girls" we heard a charming cheerful voice, Skyler. It made Hazel shut her mouth and eat her ice cream. I saw how Hazel tried to ignore him by concentrating on her ice cream. He came and slump between me and Jane. 

"What are you talking about," he asked, wrapping his hand around mine and Jane's shoulder while looking at Hazel. She didn't spare him a glance. 

"We are talking about the wedding dress and bridesmaid," Jane said as she was about to take a bit of her ice cream. 

"Select two dresses now itself, soon you have to attend one more wedding," he said in his evil voice while looking at Hazel who went stiff after listening to his words. Now her spoon hovered over her lips as her eyes were filled with fear. It was confirmed something fishy was going in between these two. I saw how she didn't let her panic come to her face as she kept ignoring him and his words. Jane and I looked at each other with the same known expression in our eyes. 

"I will go and get more ice cream," she said and stood up to go to the kitchen. 

"Tell me now what is going on between you two now," I said in my eager voice as Hazel was out of hearing range. 

"For every question, I want a kiss if you won't answer," he said in his playful voice getting a smack from me. 

"Stop playing and tell me are you playing with her heart," I asked in my firm voice as he rubbed his head. I know how Hazel is if she is ignoring him; he must have surely done something bad to her. She doesn't even want to stay in his presence. 

"Kiss then only you will get your first answer," he said, not getting affected by my smack. 

"You and your childish tricks," I said in annoyance. Jane kissed his cheeks, making me laugh looking at them. 

"Now tell us," she said in her impatient voice. 

"You both are going to listen to my answer then why only Jane should kiss me, Nian, it's now your turn," he said moving his cheek towards me. I moved my head in disbelief. I know he won't tell us until I kiss him. I took hold of his face and kissed him. I moved my eyes behind him and saw Jack was standing near the door with Zanvil and both of them were looking at us with a mad look in their eyes. Jack was looking at me with mad eyes as he looked at the distance between me and Skyler. It made me shift in my place. Zanvil was doing the same with Jane. 

"Skyler moves away," Jack said in his mad voice. 

"No why should I. I'm sitting in between my two best friends and if you have a problem then you can look away" he said with a big grin on his face. Hazel came back to the room and then she looked at us with little furrowed eyes as she saw both the boys had mad looks on their faces. 

"Love let's go home," he said to Jane in his firm voice. 

"No, I'm going to stay with Nina until her marriage," Jane said, refusing to go with him. 

"But why do I need to stay away from you. You can come here whenever you want now let's go" he said moving taking her hand in his and pulling her up towards him. 

"I can't let her be alone. I need to help her with wedding preparation. You can come here whenever you want,'' she said while cupping his cheeks and then kissing on his cheeks to convince him. 

"I want more than kisses if you want to stay here without me," he said in his demanding low voice but it was completely audible to us. I and Skyler both cleared our throat to make these two love birds come out of their daze. 

"Get a room," Skyler said, making Jane hide her face in Zanvil's chest as he kissed her head. 

"Shut up," Zanvil said as he pressed another kiss on her head. 

They both are so cute. 

I was still smiling when my eyes fell on Jack. He gestured to me with his light brown eyes to come to another room and it made my heart rate fast. He knows I can't meet him alone before marriage, still, he is asking me to meet him. I bit my lower lip as I didn't know what to do. If I didn't go he would be madder than he is. From the corner of my eyes, I saw all the elders were sitting at the fire discussing. 

"Nina come here I want to show you something," aunty Sam said while looking at me. 

Did she see him asking me to meet him? 

"Coming aunty," I said and immediately stood up from my place. I saw how his jaw clenched when I went towards her. She showed me some catalog of decor for me to choose from. Soon Jane and Hazel too joined me and we became busy choosing the things. Once I lifted my head to find him and I saw him sulking with Zanvil. I moved my head in amusement. After an hour they left and we girls had our night out. 

The next day was a little hectic as lots of time went into selecting the wedding dress and then choosing the bridesmaid's dress. As I said Ava came on time to select a dress. She became friends with both of my friends in a very short time. We had a blast while selecting our dresses. My wedding gown was a deep V-neck and fully covered in a flower net. It sticks to my body perfectly. Then I selected a pastel blue dress for the bridesmaid's dress and they all like it very much. At night when my body touches my bed, I sleep like dead women. 

The next day came so soon and today we were going to select a wedding cake. My breath hitched when Jack was waiting for us. He was looking so different in his polo shirt and jeans. I don't know but something happened in my heart. He was looking at me with his hooded eyes. My body shivered when he moved his dark eyes all over my body. I was wearing a plain yellow color dress. I swallowed hard when he fixed his gaze on my face. 

"Are you ready to taste cakes?" the wedding planner asked me as I was looking at Jack. I nodded my head a little. We took our seats and he too followed us. He scooted his chair near me touching his thigh with mine and passed one more shiver to my body. He was not speaking a single word to me but making breathing hard for me, filling the air I breathe with his intoxicating scent. 

I don't know when his silent treatment has started to affect me in this way. 

"So did you decide which flavors you want in the cake," the planner asked as she saw me silently tasting the cake. 

"I like this once," I said pointing towards the dark chocolate chip flavors. 

"It's nice I like it too" aunty Sam too liked the flavor I chose. 

"And what you have decided," the wedding planner asked Jack who has still not tasted a single flavor of the cake. He all the time kept looking at me while I was tasting them. 

"I'll go with whatever she decides," he said while placing his hand on my exposing thigh and caressing it. It sends sparks of electricity to all my body. He is making me more nervous. 

"So it's decided we will go with this flavor" aunty Sam said happily. I too gave her a faint smile. 

I felt relief when we left shortly after everything was decided. I didn't want to be in his dominating presence anymore. He was messing with my head and heart so badly. The next day was a little peace as I needed nowhere to go so I rested all day. We all girls went to the parlor to relax the next day. Only one day was left for my wedding so today aunty took me to the church to see how decorations work was going on. Throughout the ride, I was agitated thinking about what I would do if Jack was there today too. 

What will I do if he does something to me, getting me alone? 

In all previous encounters people were surrounding me but today only aunty was there and that too she will be busy checking the decoration. I breathed in relief when I didn't find Jack there. If he was here I don't know how I would have saved myself from him as only me and both of my aunts had come with me. 

"Nina darling check the decoration of that side until we go and check the decoration of the other side. Tell us if you want to make some changes" aunty Sam said with a smile on her face. 

I nodded with a smile on my face. They went away and I too turned to go to the other side. I was looking at the architecture of the church. It's so beautiful, all the statues were carved with white marble and it was decorated so nicely. I loved it. I was busy looking at the garden which was filled with all kinds of roses. I took a deep breath in the fresh air. This beauty in front of my eyes was so appreciable. With a smile playing on my lip I was staring at the beautiful flowers when strong hands were wrapped around my waist. My heart thumped as I recognized the touch. 

From where the hell he came from nowhere. Was he waiting to get me alone as the hungry lion? 

"Miss me my wild cat," he said in his husky voice as he buried his face in my neck and kissed me on my neck. My body went stiff as he pressed one more kiss on my shoulder. 

"Brace yourself and get ready to be mine for forever until then enjoy your alone time as much you want because the backward countdown has already started," he said in his dominating voice as he kissed my cheek and let me go. 

I think I'm losing my mind.
