'I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.' You sighed while you swung your bag onto your bed.

It was your 7th year at Hogwarts. You were a slytherin and best friends with Thalia. You had always been. Even though you were a ravenclaw the concept of common rooms didn't really exist anymore. McGonagall was all about friendship and openess. You could stay with who ever you liked. So you decided to camp with your bestie in the dungeons.

A lot of people went back to Hogwarts after the war. Including Draco Malfoy. He just tried to talk to you. Saying he was trying to redeem himself and that he would want to have a talk with you.

You didn't believe a word he said. You didn't think Draco could change. He was the most horrible person at Hogwarts and now he suddenly wanted forgiveness.

'Totally true. He seems full of nonsense.' Thalia sighed.

Thalia jumped onto her bed and laid down. She sighed.

'He better leave you alone. Else I'll stupefy the living he'll out of him.' She sighed.

Thalia was a dueling champion. She would hurt anyone if it meant protecting you. Although something inside of you was curious. Did Draco change? In first year you used to have a little crush on him until you realised what an ass he was.

'No need.' You said.

You sat down on your bed. His words did something with you. You were all about second chances anf forgiving people but with him.. you had no idea if you could.

'I know what face. You're thinking. What are you thinking about.' Thalia asked.

'Why dont you talk to him? You don't hate him as much as I do. Do you think he changed?'

'You know what that doubt is?' Thalia asked. 'The little 11 year old girl that used to like him.'

You grabbed your pillow and threw it at her. Thalia wheezed and caught your pillow.

'Fine, I'll talk to him.'

~

'Of course she doesn't believe me.' Draco grinned.

Draco and Thalia were heading towards the common room together after class. She was talking to Draco, like she promised you.

'She is a skeptical person.' Draco said. 'We like that about her, dont we?'

Thalia was confused. We? Thalia had no idea that Draco even considered you as a nice person.

'We?' She asked.

Draco looked at her and then looked back ahead of him with a smile. Draco used to like you way back in the days. Life got in the way and sadness and pain took over him to a point where he didnt even feel anything else.

Now he had some time to reflect and some time to think about everything and old feelings started to resurface. You were probably the worst person he could like right now. He made you life difficult at times but he couldn't help it.

'Listen, she can doubt all she wants but why don't you tell that friend of yours to talk to me herself?' Draco asked. 'I'm human. I am perfectly capable of explaining myself. No offense but I'm not just going to tell everyone my life story.'

Thalia and Draco headed down the stairs into the dungeon.

'But you're willing to tell Y/N? Out of all people.'

Draco stopped in front of the door into the dungeons. He leaned his side against the wall and smiled.

'Y/N is different. You and I both know she is. Else you couldn't be friends with her.' He shrugged.

He walked inside, leaving thalia in confused.

That evening you and Thalia took some times to catch up. Thalia was sitting on her bed when you walked into your dorm. You sat down on your own bed and stared at her.

'What?' She asked.

'Well? How did it go?' You asked.

Thalia grinned and moved a little closer to the edge of her bed.

'Well he said he isn't surprised that you don't believe him. He knows he didn't make your life easy but he wont tell me more about his intentions. He only wants to talk to you for some reason.'

You sighed. That didn't help you at all. You sighed and dropped yourself on your bed.

'You said you'd help me.' You sighed.

'I could try threatening him-'

'No!' You hissed.

Was talking to Draco an option? You had no idea..

~

A few nights later you were in the common room past curfew. You liked to sit there, reading peacefully while everyone was causing mayhem in their rooms.

'Finally.'

You looked up from your book and saw Draco standing there. You had been avoiding him.

'Can we talk?' He asked.

You shrugged and looked back at your book. Draco walked a little closer to you. He couldn't help but stare at you. He thought it was a beautiful thing that being in love was one of the first thing that came back after he started redeeming himself.

'I heard you don't really believe me when I say I'm trying to redeem myself.' He said.

'Do you really think that's strange?'

'No. Not at all.'

Draco made your life difficult because he was struggling with the views of his father. He was supposed to hate muggle-borns like you. Especially when they were ravenclaws or any other house than slytherin. He couldn't have these feelings for you. That was forbidden.

'May I?' He asked.

You didn't want to say yes but also couldn't say no.. you didn't answer. Draco just sat down besides you. You didn't feel uncomfortably but it was still a little strange.

'Would you allow me to explain myself? I'm not here looking for pitty, I'm not here looking for forgiveness. I just want to explain something to you. Why I did what I did. I havent told anyone else.'

You sighed and stared at your book for a moment. You then slowly closed it and put it away. You looked at him. The second your eyes stared into his you felt.. calm. It was weird because you expected to feel uncomfortable or unsure.. but you didn't.

'Alright.' You said.

'Alright so.. when I first got to Hogwarts it was all pretty okay. I've always been told not to accept Muggle-borns or half-bloods by my father. I dont think my mother necessarily agrees.'

You turned yourself towards him to show you were listening. Draco didnt really expect that.

'But when I got to our forth year and Voldemort returned I knew it was going to change everything. Ever since he returned he lived in my home, we were walking on eggshells. My father was constantly talking to him and it wasn't really a pleasant home environment but luckily I got to go to Hogwarts and I wasn't that involved.'

You really didn't know what to think but you decided not to say anything.

'In the holiday before 6th year my father decided to pull me into it. The first day of the holiday they told me I'd be a death eater. I had no choice, I couldn't say anything or he'd kill me. I had to get my dark mark and complete a task at Hogwarts and in the war I was forced to fight with him.' Draco followed. 'And I hated every second of it. I hated the person I was becoming and the only reason I chose the dark side at the end was because I didn't want my parents to be alone. I am thankful every day that Voldemort is dead and that I have my life back.'

It was quite overwhelming to you to hear all of that. It seemed like he really had no controle over the situation but for some reason you still didn't trust him completely.

'Again I'm not here for pitty, not here for forgiveness.. I just hope you can see where I'm coming from and we can just at least say hi to each other.'

You looked at him and grabbed your book while getting up.

'Go to sleep.. Draco.' You said.

Draco smiled when you said his name.

'Ill see in class.' You spoke before heading upstairs.

~

'Youre really not going to tell me?' Thalia asked for the 40th time.

'No he told me in confidence.' You sighed.

You were leaving your class and thalia has been bothering you non stop about Draco. About what he told you.

'Cant you just tell me like.. without detail.'

You saw Draco looking at you behind her. You sighed.

'I cant.' You said.

You picked up your bag and left the classroom.

'Y/N, wait up.'

You stopped and turned around. You caught yourself smiling when you saw Draco.

'Whats up?'

'I wss wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade later.'

You were a little confused as off why but didn't feel the need to say no. Thalia's gaze was fixed on you.

'Sure. Meet you in the common room in 30 minutes. Don't be late.'

You turned around and walked away.

Of course Draco wasn't late. He seemed this as a chance to get closer to you. He had always just wanted to go out with you.

You headed to higsmeade where he took you to the three broomsticks. Where you sat down and ordered a drink.

'Thank you for doing this.' He said. 'And thank you for not sharing my story.'

'That would just be rude.'

You took a sip of your drink and put it back down. You two just looked at each other for a moment.

'I do owe you an apology. That's why I wanted to take you here. I know I can never make up for what ive done but.. I can at least say sorry.'

You never saw Draco as someone to apologise. You were kind off shocked about that and didn't really know what to say.

Draco was nervous but took his shot. He gently laid his hand on the one that you had resting on the table. To your surprise you didn't want to pull it back. You just looked at it and then at him.

'I really am sorry. I have been such an asshole. Please Y/N. I'm really sorry. Can you forgive me?'

You swallowed and all you could do was nod before taking a sip of your drink.

'Of course I forgive you.' You said.

You and Draco stayed there the rest of the afternoon just chatting. It was surprisingly fun. He even paid for everything and brought you back to the common room.

~

A few days later you can back late to your dorm again. Thalia dropped her book and raised her brows.

'What?' You asked.

'Draco again?' She asked.

You and Draco had been hanging out a lot. It was crazy. He was so much fun to be with and your old feelings had been resurfacing.

'Maybe.'

'First you go to Hogsmeade together, than the library, the forest, the lake, the library again.. what was it this time?'

You smiled as a few memories from those days came back. Thalia looked at you and slowly started smirking.

'What?'

'I know that smile. Youre in love with him.'

You looked at her and dropped your smile.

'I'm not!' You sighed.

'You deny it so loudly that it must be true! Your old feelings are back, aren't they?' She smirked.

You sighed and decided to leave the common room again. Not willing to listen to her. Draco was sitting there. What you didn't know was that Thalia was so loud that he heard what she said and honestly he couldn't be happier.

'Draco, thank gosh.' You sighed. 'Thalia is crazy.'

Draco got up and shoved his hands in the pocket of his suit.

'Is she?' Draco asked.

He walked towards you and stopped right infront of you.

'She is saying crazy things. Id rather hang out with you than listen to-'

Draco laid his hand on your cheek and kissed you in one swift motion. You were shocked but could hear Thalia in the hallway screaming 'I knew it!'

At that point you just kissed him back. Allowing yourself to feel it all...
