seven deadly sins
who is this chick, two new chapters in two days?? well, i decided to activize myself (in english) and this book more. and comment on - totally random and it-doesn't-even-makes-sense - things.
so, let's talk about the seven deadly sins, a'right?
the seven deadly sins, also know as capital vices or cardinal sins are vices within christian teachings.
according to the standard list, they are pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth, which are also contrary to the seven heavenly virtues.
you see, we are a christian family, but we don't really attend church. i was baptised though, but we only go to church when there is either a funeral or a wedding ceremony.
but ever since i'm a member of the weheartit community, i constantly see aesthetics about the seven deadly sins 😂😂😂
and i think, in today's world, all person is guilty in... nearly all of them. so here is my list 😂😂😂
in the end, leave me a comment so i know that i won't rot in hell alone 😂😂😈😈😈
1. pride
"by that sin, fell the angels"
labeled as the "father of all sins", pride is the original and most "deadly" of all sins.
in a world that pushes us to excel and exceed in whatever we do, fueled by a society of self-absorption, pride is a force that we carry around when interacting with others.
in nowadays , the whole social media is fueled by pride. we enjoy that we can show how beautiful we feel, how gorgeous foods we eat, how in love are we with our boyfriends. we enjoy that people praise us for our image, our values.
yes, i also like to share a pic when i feel like: yeah, now i look pretty okay, let others see that i can be pretty too. i love to rant and brag when i get a good grade in school.
pride is all about our ego.
the punishment in hell for this is being broken on the wheel.

2. greed
"he who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have"
the american dream, right? we always want to be more, feel more and gain more than we actually are right now.
living in a society in which we are being pampered and by consumerism, greed is a natural desire for human beings.
we, the millenials and gen-zers, have insanely big dreams. and we want to work as little as we can to make those dreams come true. (*cough* that's why sugar daddies exist *cough*)
the punishment in hell for this is being boiled alive in oil.

3. lust
"lust is the craving for salt for a man dying of thirst”
lust or lechery is intense longing and is usually thought of as intense or unbridled sexual desire. lust is the inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body, it can also mean the desire in general for money, power or anything else that is sinful.
lust is probably one of my favourite. (yeah, weird girl has a favourite deadly sin).
because i think that we, teenagers and young adults are insanely guilty of lust. we are crushing so hard on boys/and to crush heteronormativity girls too, we are overwhelmed by hormones, we have crushes in school, we fall in love in numerous actor or singer.
and as years pass by, these crushes can manifest in some... fantasies. don't judge me! i think every single person on this planet fantazise... about a lot of things. you tend to fantazise more if... you are single as hell...
a thousands of ships were sailed because of lust. we fought wars because of lust. so there's that.
the punishment for lust would be smothered by fire and brimstones.
4. envy
"the wicked envy and hate; it is their way of admiring"
envy is characterised by an insatiable desire. it is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation and also the resentment towards someone else. envy and jealousy are both similar in that they both feel discontent towards someone's traits, status, abilities, or rewards but envy also contains the desire for the entity and the craving to covet it.
in our world where we are constantly comparing ourselves to one another and having the desire to always want what others have that seem better, envy is behind our every choice and action.
i should admit that i'm most guilty in envy. i envy basically everyone else's beauty, confidence, social and love life, mental stability, grades, wealth, strength, persistence.
i probably should make peace with who i am and accept myself. but it's gonna be a long way. through life probably
the punishment for envy is being placed into freezing water.
theme movie: the favourite
5. gluttony
"the one whose concern is with that which enters the belly will discover that his value is found in that which goes out of it"
gluttony is the overindulgence and overconsumption of anything to the point of waste and it is considered a sin if the excessive desire for food causes it to be withheld from the needy.
in our society where materialistic desires overshadow what is enough to suffice us, the inordinate desire for things that are more expensive or more material goods in general increases.
this is probably where i should tell you about stress eating and overeating and candy shops and sugar itself.
i will not, so we are gonna move along.
the punishment in hell for gluttony would be being force-fed rats, toads, and snakes.
6. wrath
"Mercy should make us ashamed, wrath afraid to sin"
wrath is defined as uncontrollable feelings of rage, anger and even hatred. anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury and we as humans are wired for it.
in our world where we are constantly surrounded by other human beings and stress, wrath is seemingly a natural emotion for many of us.
it's probably in my genes that i'm very hot headed and temperatured human being. i get it from my father. i can get angry in a millisec. even if it's not even pms time. anger is probably the worst part of me, and sometimes it gets the best of me too.
the punishment in hell for this is being dismembered alive.
7. sloth
"we excuse our sloth under the pretext of difficulty"
sloth is defined as the absence of interest or habitual disinclination to exertion in the physical, mental and spiritual states. sloth has also been defined as the failure to do things that one should do. by this definition, evil exists when "good" people fail to act.
with our lives being more and more hectic each day, being caught up with work or school, can we be blamed for our sloth?
let's just name a few things: bingewatching, procrastinating, hours of scrolling trough TikTok. check check check, for me.
the punishment for sloth is being thrown into snake pits.
