one day at a time

let's travel to a more... Nicer and joyfull subject, than my last post.

one day at a time!!!

____________

one day at a time is a family sitcom on Netflix. right now it has 3 full seasons on netflix and it was cancelled after that. but there was a huuuuge petition so poptv picked it up soooo we are getting a fourth season in march

i just finished bingewatch it the second time, it was as good and as wonderfull as the first time.

it's a story about a multi-generational cuban family in la. you think nothing dealbreaker can come from that.

yeah... sure...

it deals with a lot of serious matters. family, immigration, veterans (the mother of the family is an army veteran), ptsd, anxiety, depression, religion, fit-in, and it has a meaningful coming out story of the teenage girl of the family.

one minute you're laughing your ass off, because its so funny. the next you're sobbing in tears, screaming "whyyyy" at the computer.

its just so real. and thats the charm of it. thats why its so touching.

it affects me so much that i use spanish words at my speaking, hungarian language. i started to use words like dale, ay, mi vida, mija, mi amore, pobrecito, locos!

it just so good.

every single storyline and character and snippet is... real. it shows life the way it is, it doesn't romanticize it. you can see how it affects the 13 year old boy that people are shouting at him like "go back to mexico" when this boy is so full of life and confidence. you can see how much the 16 year old girl struggles with her sexuality. you can see how hard it is to be a veteran in the us, and how awful anxiety really is.

you! you start it right away, dios mio, or else!!!! :D :D
