Chapter 2
Wyatt's POV:
I don't know how much more of this I can take. I watch as Sky absolutely swoons over that idiot, Cole. Ugh, I hate him so much. I know that Sky is basically in love with him and that's why I haven't told her yet.
*flashback*
"Wyattttt," Sky whines, as I pull her to get in line for the fastest roller coaster here. I know that she doesn't like these kinds of rides, which is exactly why I brought her here. "C'mon, it'll be fun," I beg her.
"Ok fine, I'll go, but let me use the bathroom first," says Sky as she walks away to the ladies room. I stood in line for a while until I realized that I had lost our tickets. I go back to the ticket booth. Well, I more like run. I didn't want Sky to get back and realize that I was gone. I get our tickets and hurry back. I get back in line for the ride, and I see a couple making out near the bathrooms.
I didn't pay much attention to it until I look closer and notice just exactly who that couple is. It's Sky's so-called "best friend," Emily and Cole. I almost pass out, but I didn't have time because I see Sky come out the bathroom. I can see her eyes searching the crowd looking for me and I pray that she doesn't notice the "couple" that is nearly 8 feet away from her.
I hurry to her so that she won't see. I get to her and I hurry her as far away from that bathroom as I possibly can. "Ummm, Wyatt the ride is the other way." I look at her, but I just keep walking. "And why are we walking so fast? Wyatt, WYATT STOP." We abruptly stop walking.
"What is your problem," Sky asks angrily, but with a hint of concern in her voice. "Nothing, I'm just tired. Let's just go home. I'll drop you off." I say. "No. We're not leaving until you tell me what's REALLY going on. I don't know what happened to make you like this" Sky says as she gestures to me.
"But what I do know is that I won't let it ruin our time at the fair." She says with a stern face. I sigh and run my hands through my hair. I want to tell her, but I don't want to break her heart. After a couple seconds of silence, I decide to do what I think is right. "Sky, listen to me. Nothing is wrong, I'm just tired and I changed my mind about going on the ride, ok?" I say, lying right through my teeth.
"Ok......I understand. Sorry for overreacting, but I just wanted to make sure everything was good," Says Sky as she bites her lip from nervousness. "It's alright. Honestly I think we should just go back home. These rides are overrated anyway." I say as I chuckle. "Yeah that sounds good to me," says Sky. I sigh, hoping I made the right decision.
*flashback over*
I cough. Once. Twice. I'm getting tired of this, so I finally speak. "I guess this is my cue to go," I say, trying not to make eye contact. "Yeah, sorry Wyatt. I'll see you later," says Sky. I look at them as I slowly respond. "Ok, whatever." I walk away, but not too fast. I want to make sure Sky is gonna be alright. She seems alright as she's busy gazing into his eyes. I guess too busy to notice that he's not gazing back. Ugh, he doesn't deserve her. ___________________________________________________________________________
Sky's POV:
I walk into the school with my adorable boyfriend by my side. Suddenly I see my other best friend, Emily. She comes running toward us and I immediately embrace her in a hug. "IT'S BEEN LIKE A WHOLE WEEKEND. I'VE MISSED YOU." screams Emily. We get a couple stares as I scold Emily. "Why the heck are you screaming?"
Cole is just about dying of laughter behind me. I don't even see why, because this is the least bit of funny. "What's so hysterical?" I say as I try and glare at Cole. I must have failed horribly because that just makes him laugh more. "Sorry, I just find it so cute when you try to be serious and threatening." That makes me even angrier.
"Just because I'm 5'5 17 year old doesn't mean that I'm not scary," I argue. "I know sweetie. It's alright," says Cole in a joking manner. "Ummm, I hate to break this up, but we have to get to class. And to answer your question, I was screaming because I missed you and cause it is really funny when you threaten me," says Emily.
"You know what, screw both of you," I say as I just about stomp away. "Babe, c'mon you know we're just joking," says Cole trying to comfort me. " Fine," I say in a nonchalant manner. "Anywaysssss, I have to go catch up with Emily, because we have an umm... project in Calc. See you." Says Cole as he kisses me on the cheek and runs to catch up with Emily. ___________________________________________________________________________
Emily's POV:
I start to walk away, as I notice that Cole is now by my side. "So you wanna talk about what happened over the weekend?" asks Cole. "Ummm, I don't know what you're talking about. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING happened over the weekend. Got it."
I say, a little too loudly. "So you're going with that lie. Alright, cool. And you're sure that no one knows about this little 'thing, but not thing' right?" asks Cole in a deep whisper. "Yessssssss, now go. If you keep hanging around me, then people will know." I hiss at him.
"Yeah, so see you later for that 'project' right? Bye." says Cole as he turns down the corner and walks into his class. I have everything I've ever wanted. I've got the boy of my dreams, and I am still best friends with Sky. If that's all true, then why do I feel like crap.
Seeeeee, progress. Hopefully, this wasn't as bad of a chapter as it was in my head
