The Big Bang Theory One Shot

It was always going to be scary to say something to someone when you were unsure of what their reaction was going to be.

Even if you thought you knew the person insanely well, it was still going to be nerve wracking to tell them something relatively shocking.

You and Raj had been together for a little under two years, but it had been the best relationship of your life.

Of course, you'd been told the stories of what Raj had been like before he was able to talk to women the way he did now – Raj always got embarrassed, but you were proud of what he had overcome.

The two of you had been introduced through Penny; you and she had been friends since childhood and at her encouragement, you had moved out to Pasadena as well.

You lived in a flat that was the floor above her, Leonard and Sheldon but it took you a good month to be introduced to everyone.

Raj had moved in with you not too long ago and it was definitely interesting moving things up four floors with no lift.

Over the past week or so you hadn't been feeling overly well. You had managed to convince Raj that it was nothing, but you had your own suspicions.

Whilst Raj was at work, you'd gone to the drug store to purchase a few tests to see if your suspicions were correct.

After the third test practically spelled it out for you, you knew that you were pregnant.

Your only worry was how Raj was going to react.

Obviously, you didn't want to wait for him to get home from work, so you made the decision to drive over to the university.

As you walked through the halls to Raj's office, your mind worked itself into overdrive about your boyfriend's reaction.

When you knocked on his office door you heard him calling out for you to come in.

"Hey baby! What're you doing here?" he asked you once you'd opened the door.

You smiled somewhat nervously as you closed the door behind you.

Raj's brow furrowed in confusion whilst you made your way over to him and leant back against his desk.

He raised a hand to rest on your hip causing you to smile.

"Is everything okay? You look terrified baby."

You opened your mouth to talk but nothing came out even though a tear fell down your cheek.

Raj stood up quickly, going between your legs and placing his hands on your cheeks. "Baby, you've got to tell me what's wrong."

You shook your head as the tears fell freely from your eyes.

Even though Raj's expression was plain with worry, he pulled you into his arms and let you cry out whatever was wrong.

Once you'd calmed down slightly, you took a deep breath and looked up at Raj.

"You're worrying me Baby, please just talk to me."

You smiled at the pet name he always used, now realising that that word had a whole new significance in your life.

He pressed a kiss to your forehead as he waited for you to say something.

"I'm pregnant Raj...and I'm terrified."

Your voice broke as you spoke to him causing him to pull you into his arms yet again.

"I don't know if we're ready for this Raj, I don't know how we're going to do it."

He pushed you away from him slightly so that you would look up at him. "We will do it the same way that Howard and Bernadette did it," he reassured you with a smile. "We'll go at our own pace, we will figure things out along the way and we will love our child no matter what."

His words brought different tears to your eyes, but he wiped them away as soon as they fell.

"No one is ever ready for a child Baby, and you know that as well as I do," he whispered as he leant his forehead against yours. "But you also know that we can do this – you're my forever and this child will be too."
