7 | KICK SOME ASS
WHEN MARGO DONOVAN WOKE UP AGAIN, IT WAS TO SHOUTING. With her vampire hearing she easily figured out that it was her soulmate and her best friend. Tiredly rolling her eyes, Margo got out of bed. Noticing that she was in one of Kol's shirts as she walked passed the mirror on the door of the closet door, the memories of the previous night flashed through her brain - skin against skin, breathy moans and deep groans, hot kisses and unimaginable pleasure - and her cheeks flushed hotly.
Unable to stop the wide smile that spread across her lips, Margo skipped into the ensuite and started her morning routine. She didn't listen in on Kol and Klaus' screaming match - it was rude and intrusive and the blonde had never been one for eavesdropping, even if she knows for certain neither of them will mind if she did. Besides, if she really wanted to know, she could just ask them.
Warm water was cascading down her back when Margo noticed that the shouting from downstairs suddenly came to a screeching halt. She laughed lightly - they probably noticed that she was awake and didn't want to her to hear them arguing. Margo then snorted to herself - to late for that.
Walking out of the ensuite with a light purple towel wrapped tightly around her body, Margo came to a screeching halt when she saw her soulmate lounging on their bed - dressed only in a flannel pajama pants, chest bare. A wide smirk spread on his face and he made a big show of looking her up and down appreciatively before letting out a slow wolf whistle.
"Kol!" Margo gasped scoldingly, gripping the towel tigher instinctively. Her heart began to thunder in her chest underneath his gaze. "Get out!" She ordered, waving a hand in the direction of the door.
A cheeky smirk spread on his lips. "I've already seen it all, love."
"That's doesn't matter." The blonde snapped at him, cheeks flaming worse than it's ever had when he gave her a pointed look. Warmth pooled in her belly as she saw his eyes darken, a familiar fire starting to burn in them. She cleared her throat and shook her head in an effort to compose herself. Miraculously, it worked. "It's called having manners, you know?"
The cheeky smirk widened, "I'm afraid Esther's lessons on manners and socially accepting behaviour went in the one ear and out the other when it came to me."
"Why am I not even a little surprised?" Margo grumbled to herself, eyes darting all around the room as she avoided looking at Kol.
The look on Kol's face faltered and all traces of cheekiness vanished. He gave her serious look, "Do you really want me to leave? I know that I'm joking around, but if I'm really making you uncomfortable, I'll leave."
At his honest words and sincere expression, Margo felt love and affection rush through her chest with a force that left her a little breathless. She thought over his words. No, Margo wasn't uncomfortable with Kol's presence. She was just shy. A frown pulled at her brows at that thought. What did she have to be shy about? She loves Kol and he loves her. They've already been as close as they could physically be and seen everything there is to see about each other.
"No." Margo answered eventually. Kol's eyes widened in shock - he was really expecting her to ask him to go. Not that he would have been hurt by that, he knows how innocent and pure Margo's heart and soul is.
The blonde gave him a wicked grin that contradicted the innocent picture he has of her and sent all of his blood rushing south. "What? You've already seen it all." Then in a bold move with confidence that came from remembering the sounds she pulled from Kol the previous night, Margo dropped her towel before spinning around slowly and walking into the walk-in closet with swaying hips.
Kol could only sit on the bed, jaw dropped open and thrown completely off his bearings at his soulmate's uncharacteristic confidence. A slow smile spread on his lips as he sped of the bed and into the bathroom to take a shower of his own - a very cold one - and the Mikaelson decided that he likes this small changes in her. He likes it as much as he loves her.
After they were both dressed and finished, the soulmate pair walked down stairs, hand in hand. When Margo reached the downstairs, she paused and tilted her head, catching a fresh scent of human blood. Klaus' voice could be heard in the same direction the scent came from. Margo scowled deeply, she was not going to let Klaus kill a human while she was in the house. The blonde sped to the room where they were - Kol hot on her heels - almost taking the door of its hinges with her vampire strength.
Noticing the man Klaus was talking with, her mouth dropped open. The hunter looked over at her and his eyes widened in shock.
"I killed you." Connor snarled in anger as Margo stared at him silently.
"Be very glad that she isn't dead, mate, or you would be in pieces right now, no matter if you're one of the Five and I would have gladly suffered for doing it." Kol said from behind Margo, his voice dangerously low.
"I'm inclined to agree with my little brother," Klaus nodded, throwing a look to his brother. The smirked at each other, the looks in their eyes murderous. "You see, out of everyone in this town - save for my family, of course - Margo is the only one that I care about. And dear brother Kol over there," He gestured to Kol with one hand. "Is completely in love with her."
Margo rolled her eyes, "You two are so over dramatic."
"Comes with the territory of being a Mikaelson, love." Kol informed her matter-of-factly as he walked up to her and wrapped an arm around her waist.
"So, what exactly is 'the Five'?" Margo echoed, looking from Kol to Klaus curiously. The two brother's exchanged another glance and Klaus nodded to Kol, gesturing to the door of the room. He didn't want to give the hunter any answers if he wasn't going to recieve any in return, but he had no qualms with his best friend knowing the truth. Margo noticed that the hunter has curiousity in his eyes as well. Instantly a frown pulled on her face and she suddenly remembered what happened before he killed her. She turned to Klaus, "Can I ask him a question?"
"Go ahead, Shorty." Klaus nodded, wondering what this could be about. Remembering that it was Matt who came to call him and tell him that Margo was with the hunter the previous day, Kol had some idea what she was about to ask. Margo rolled her eyes fondly at the nickname Klaus had given her before turning to Connor.
"I don't answer to vampires." He snarled at her and when Margo flinched, Kol's defensive hackles rose before lashing out to protect his mate.
"Say what you will to me, but you won't disrespect Margo, so mind your tongue, before I remove it." Kol threatened seriously, taking a step forward. He was halted when Margo wrapped an comforting, yet restraining arm around his bicep. It instantly calmed him down and Kol looked down at her, wondering if she knew the full extent of her effect on him.
"Why did you attack my brother?" Margo asked, something dangerously protective in her tone. Klaus frowned at the new information, he didn't know that Connor had attacked Matt. "He's human."
"When did I do that?" Connor frowned, racking his brain.
"Yesterday, when I ripped you off him before you killed me." Margo asked with clenched hands, gritting her teeth in annoyance.
Ah, the human bloodbag, Connor's brain supplied for him. Surprise coloured his face once more. He wondered how a vampire as strong as the blonde girl had a human brother. The older the vampire, the stronger they are and this vampire is very strong, but her brother is human. So it begs the question, why and how the hell is she so strong? "That's your brother?"
Margo nodded tensely. "My twin."
Disgust pulled over the hunter's face as he put a puzzle together from the pieces he had. "I didn't see why I had to leave him alone when he willing acts as a bloodbag for a bunch of vampires."
Margo froze at his words, anger starting to swirl in her chest. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't play innocent. I saw the fang marks on his arms." Connor snarled at her. Klaus and Kol exchanged yet another look - this time, it was a worried one. Control over her blood lust or no, Margo was still a newly turned vampire and her emotions could quickly get the better of her. Especially her protectiveness when it comes to her twin brother. And if she does something - like kill someone - in the heat of her emotions, Margo would hate herself. Neither of them wants that for her.
Margo's face fell and she paled severely. Someone was drinking from Matt? She staggered backwards in disbelief. "What?"
Realisation and surprised flashed across Connor's face. "You really don't know?"
"No, I don't." Margo shook her head furiously. Determination entered her eyes. "But I'm going to find out who is drinking from my brother and when I do, I'm going to kick some ass."

MATT DONOVAN WAS UNNERVED. Ever since his sister had come home half an hour ago, she had been acting strange. She kept staring at him and then out of nowhere she glared at something, then she huffed and puffed before grumbling something under her breath and pacing a little. Matt has always prided himself on knowing his twin sister, but right now, he didn't know what to do.
They sat in the living room. Well, Matt was sitting on the couch while Margo was pacing infront of him. Suddenly, she rounded on him - hands on her hips, eyes narrowed.
"Who's drinking from you?" She bit out, eyes angry and hurt and saddened, all at once.
Matt's heart dropped. How did she figure it out? Elena wouldn't have told her and the Mikaelson brother's didn't know. Then he remembered when she saved him yesterday - the hunter. Connor. He must have told her. But when had she spoken to him? As far as he knew, the hunter was blown all the way to the Stone Age.
"Uh, any chance you would believe me if I said no one?" He asked nervously.
"Don't make me compel it out of you." Margo snarled at her twin brother, chest tight at the thought of someone drinking from her brother and loosing control before killing him.
"You wouldn't." Matt said with wide eyes, standing up from the couch.
"This involves your safety, Matty, don't test me." Margo walked closer to him as she spoke, stopping when she stood toe-to-toe with him. She let her vampire eyes flash to the surface to show him that she was serious.
"Margo-" He started to protest, but didn't get very far.
"Matthew Donovan, if you don't tell me within the next five seconds, I am going to compel you to tell me everything."
It took Matt alot less time than he'd like to admit to cave - maybe some subconsious part of him wanted his sister to help him, to get him out of being Elena's source of blood. "Elena."
"You're letting Elena drink from you?" Margo narrowed her eyes, taking a deep breath to reign in her fury - the same way Kol taught her to reign in her hunger.
"She can't keep bloodbags or anything else down-" Matt started explaining, only to be cut of by a furious twin sister.
"And that is your problem how?" She all but shouted and screeched, her voice rising, but still managing to be vulnerable and show exactly how scared she was. Scared that something would go wrong while Elena was feeding on her twin brother.
"Because Stefan saved me instead of her and if he didn't, she wouldn't be a vampire right now." Matt explained, voice sounding so very broken, then
"Matt," Margo was so choked up that she cut herself off. "Matty, that's not your fault. You can't blame yourself for this."
"If Stefan just saved her-"
"Yes, Matty, Stefan. Not you. You didn't make this choice, he did. And yeah, I'll be grateful to him for the rest of eternity, but it still doesn't change the fact that he made the choice. He could have saved Elena, and she would have been pissed for a while, but she would have gotten over it. But I am so glad and grateful that he didn't, because now you are alive. And that is nothing to feel guilty about, Matty."
"Still, I can't help but feel responsible." Matt shrugged helplessly and Margo wrapped him up in a tight hug, but was still careful to not hurt him with her Original-like strength and he quickly returned it.
"Well, don't. You didn't do anything wrong." Margo told him, rubbing a soothing hand over his back. They pulled apart and she said, "And if we're really pointing fingers here, then this is actually Rebekah's fault."
Something flashed in Matt's eyes at the mention of the blonde's name. "Speaking of, have you talked to her?"
"Not yet. I mean, she invited Kol and I to her rave, but I was to busy being dead." Margo's smile was way to cheery for Matt's liking.
Matt lightly punched her arm, glaring at her as their identical blue eyes locked. "That's not funny."
"Neither is you letting Elena drink from you." Margo said, the smile fading from her face.
"Then what is she supposed to do?"
"She can go drink on some other human in town," The blonde said in a 'I don't really care' tone. Then added darkly, "One that isn't my twin brother."
Matt rose his brows at her, "And what if she kills someone?"
"Then that's Damon and Stefan's problem. If they can't help her get control, then she needs better teachers. I mean, we were turned on the same day and I don't go around guilt tripping anyone into being my blood bag." Margo scoffed, looking like she wanted to punch something. "Besides, if she kills you, I'll probably kill her."
"Margo!" Matt exclaimed with wide eyes, shocked by her nonchalant words.
"It's true, Matty. No one is going to take you away from me without a fight. And if they do, then they're going to pay. Elena included."
"You can't protect me for the rest of my life." Matt sighed deeply.
Margo pulled at face at that, "Yes, I can and I will. I respect you not wanting to become a vampire, but you have to accept the fact that you have a vampire - with the power and strength of an Original - for a twin sister that will burn down the world if it means keeping you safe."
Matt frowned, "You have the powers of an Original?" He didn't know that.
"Yup." Margo nodded proudly.
"How does that work?" The male blonde asked, frowning of confusion deepening.
"You know how I was brought back a vampire because of Kol's soul?" Margo asked pointedly, raising an eyebrow as she waited for her brother to figure the rest out.
"So, you didn't just come back a vampire, but an Original vampire?" Realisation surged through him and he looked at her in awe.
"Apparently, yeah, which is why I'm not dead." Margo confirmed with a nervous laugh, chewing slightly on the inside of her cheek.
"This might sound weird," Matt started, hesitating somewhat before just shrugging it off. "But that is really cool."
Margo snorted an amused chuckle, relieved that Matt wasn't freaked out by this. When she thought of what prompted this conversation in the first place, Margo grew somber. "Just, promise me, you won't let Elena drink from you anymore. Please?"
"I promise." Matt swore sincerely, returning the wide beam she gave him when he did so.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
okay, so slight canon divergance - kol isn't going to be so obsessed with silas. like, he knows about silas, but he isn't going to go crazy about it.
now, whether he still gets skilled so that his sireline of vampires would reveal jeremy's tattoo? well, that's another matter that i'm still somewhat undecided on. my plotline could go either way. *shrugs* guess i'll leave it until i reach the actual episode.
hope you enjoyed it!
