My luck is just terrible these days.

I can't get a moment's peace around here ever since I lost my temper that day... But, I can't really blame myself for what happened. Chenle was in danger, and none of us could've known that any of this would've happened.

Unlike last time, I woke up in my room, thankfully. It's way more comfortable than the infirmary.

I wonder how long I've been asleep this time...

I left Zachariah to meditate in my room so I could check on Renjun, again.

It's been two days now, and I don't know how long it'll take him to recover this time. I haven't been able to sleep or meditate peacefully...

Jaemin keeps telling me to have patience, and Chenle tries to make me smile, but apart from Chenle, Jaemin is only making me feel more guilty. He sacrificed himself for me, and what could I do?

Nothing.

I acted recklessly, and put Jaemin and our family in danger. It all happened so fast, but I wish I still could've tried to at least do something...

I held my head down the whole time I made my way to Renjun's room. I shamefully walked into his room, not bothering to knock, only to find him awake.

"H-Hyung?!"

"Jeno~!"

"Y-You're awake!"

"That I am~. How long was I out this time?"

"Not that long thankfully~. It's been two days"

"Really?! That's great! But why do you look so upset?"

"O-Oh... It's nothing..."

"Don't give me that... Come tell me what's wrong"

He insisted, patting the side of his bed.

I gave in of course. I slowly walked over and sat down next to him.

"I'm terrible hyung..."

"How do you mean???"

"I put not only you, but Jaemin and the rest of our family in danger..."

"What??? How??? When???"

"Alistar and Luca... They were gonna turn you into a monster. I wasn't thinking rationally... I ran and took the needle away from them without a plan, and I ended up becoming a hostage"

"And they were gonna use it on you right?"

"They were, but Jaemin came for me, only for them to launch the needle towards him..."

"WHAT?! WHERE IS HE?!"

"He's fine. Nothing happened to him, but I'm to blame for putting him in danger..."

"That's not entirely true Joker"

Mark suddenly spoke, startling me.

I forgot my nickname was Joker, with everything that's been going on...

"I'm the one who called Alistar a fucker. I
pissed him off more to make Jaemin have no choice but to go after Jeno. So technically, I put everyone in danger, especially you Joker, and I'm sorry about that..."

"B-But hyung, I put myself and the rest of you in danger. That wouldn't have happened if I hadn't went for that needle..."

"Never apologize for doing the right thing Jeno. Like all of us, you were scared and worried about Renjunie. But, you were the only one that acted. You're the reason he's still with us now. Without Renjun, I don't know what would become of us. So, not only did you save Renjun, you also saved us~"

"I.."

"But enough of that now. That's all in the past. Let's all go back to being dumbassess until our next threat comes~"

Mark cheered, skipping out the room.

"Wait, next threat? What about Alistar and Luca??? Won't they come back for us???"

Renjun asked, with a little fear laced in his voice.

"Oh no. Don't worry about them. They're dead and gone~"

"I b-beg your pardon...?"

"Oh! That's right, you have to meet our new recruits~"

"N-New recruits???"

"Don't worry, they're really cool~, now put this shirt on and come on~!"

I cheered, pulling him out of bed.

Jeno must know me very well.

Before he dragged me out the room, he tossed one of my favorite shirts in my face. It was by accident of course.

And whoever put on my shorts and laid out my slippers also knows me very well. They were also favorites of mine.

"Hey Jeno, who got my shorts and my slippers?"

I asked as he led me down the hallway.

"Oh! Chenle picked them out, but Taeyong-hyung put on your underwear"

"They're Moomin too aren't they...?"

"Yes they are~"

"Fantastic..."

Just when we turned the corner to the elevator, Jeno bummed into someone.

"Oh! I'm sorry Kip~"

Who's Kip? And more importantly, why didn't he answer Jeno?

I only got more confused when I looked at him and didn't see a face.

"Oh, hyung! This is Kip, he's one of our new recruits. Funny thing, he can't speak normally with words, only in symbols and emojis. It's really cute though~"

"☺️💕🌸💫"

"That is pretty cute~"

He shook my hand happily, and led us to the elevator to go to the game room.

"H-He-l-lo"

"That's it! You got it!"

"ขอขอบคุณ~!"

Lucas was teaching someone how to speak, which confused me even more.

"Renjun-hyung~!"

Chenle squealed, as he ran up to me and hugged me.

"Hey Lele~. I missed you too~"

"So, this is Renjun~"

A guy wearing glasses spoke, coming up to me.

Finally, someone who can speak...

"This is Kong. He's the one who killed Alistar and Luca"

Jeno introduced.

"R-Really??!"

"Aww, he's cute when he's scared~. But don't worry. My friends and I are here to serve and protect you and your family"

He teased, patting my head.

I suddenly felt someone tugging on my shorts, only for me to find that the one tugging me was half my size...

"This little cutie is Sho. He doesn't talk or smile much, but he's very friendly~"

Jeno cooed as Sho waved at me.

"Oh! And Lucas is teaching Daito over there. He can only speak Thai, but he understands what we say very well"

"He wants to be able to speak to us without me having to translate for him, so I decided to help him since I'm Thai and Chinese~"

Lucas added, and Daito nodded with excitement. 

"And last but not least, this is our gracious leader, Ira~"

Kong happily introduced, with enthusiasm and jazz hands.

She was the one that shocked me the most when she turned around.

"Y-Y-You're a-"

"A girl. I know"

"Sorry about him. He's never talked to an actually girl before"

Taeyong apologized. 

"No wonder he looks like an antelope in headlights!"

Donghyuck teased, making everyone laugh.

"It's ok Renjun. I think you're probably the most sane out of all these idiots. No offense to the rest of you"

"Much taken"

Donghyuck pouted.

"Anyway, can we get something to eat. I'm starving"

"Me too"

"Me three"

"Same"

Jisung, Chenle, Mark, and Jungwoo complained.

"Again, Chenle, you're always hungry. But there's Kimchi Fried Rice in the kitchen-"

"OuT oF mY wAy AsShOlEs"

Mark interrupted Taeyong and ran to the kitchen, along with everyone else except Taeyong and Jeno.

"I guess we better go too before they make us starve..."

"Agreed..."

They both sighed.

I began to walk with them, until I realized something, or rather someone, was missing.

"Wait a minute. Where's Jaemin???"
