Mount Justice

At the mountain Pietro was standing  in the main cavern with Zatara and Captain Marvel, watching Kaldur and Robin spar with one another while he munched on a protein bar. He watched as Robin did a back handspring to dodge one of Kaldur's attacks, the team leader charging after the small boy wonder. Robin sent a kick Kaldur's way but he leant back to avoid it, doing his own backwards hand spring to give himself distance. 

Pietro stopped watching when he felt the familiar tingle in his mind that meant his sister was establishing a psychic link. He kept his face neutral as he saw M'gann approach with Conner and Wolf. 

Pietro, you there?

Yes. What is it?

No need to sound so excited to talk to your twin, brat drahý. 

Sorry, Wands. I just...did you know Cheshire was going to tell Aqualad there is a mole on the team?

...I was made aware of the fact, yes.

And you didn't think to, oh, I don't know, warn me?

Pietro -

Is there anything else you aren't telling me, Wanda? We're supposed to be in this together.

We are in this together. I'm not keeping anything else from you.

Good. 

But I did connect with you to tell you that Poison Ivy's plant creatures are just a distraction. Her and the whole Injustice League were created to throw your team and the Justice League off the trail of the Light. It does not matter if you take them out. They are...disposable. 

Got it. The team and I can ruin their plan without hurting the Light. 

Exactly. 

Will you...will you be there?  With the Injustice League, I mean.

No. I am not disposable to the Light as of now. They need me.

Alright. Batman just walked in and turned the news on. 

Pietro, please be careful. Even if they are a front, the Injustice League still has some heavy hitters in their ranks. 

I'll be careful. You be careful as well, sestra.

Always.

Pietro watched the news coverage on the holographic computer, going to stand with the rest of his team. His eyes widened slightly when he saw the size of the plant creatures that Ivy had cooked up, impressed and slightly curious as to how she had managed it. 

"Should we get out there?" Robin asked, sounding a bit excited for action.

"No. The League will soon have the situation under control. That's not why I'm here. According to your intel, Sportsmaster and Scarlet Witch supplied Cadmus Blockbuster formula to Kobra."

"Who combined it with Bane's venom to create Kobra-Venom." Wally reminded everyone. 

"Which The Brain used to create his animal army." Robin added.

"And upgrade Wolf." Conner scratched Wolf's chin lovingly. 

"The Brain also used inhibitor collars, like the ones used at Belle Reve penitentiary." M'gann pointed out. 

"Batman is it possible that the plant thingy is on Kobra-Venom too?" Artemis inquired.

"Sure looks like it." Pietro mumbled.

"I had Green Lantern run a spot analysis. Divine cellulose does contain trace amounts of a Kobra-Venom variant." 

"These cannot be coincidences." Pietro spoke up. "I mean, unrelated criminals cooperating worldwide? That seems...strange. Dangerous."

"Exactly. It's now clear our enemies have formed some kind of secret society of super villains." Pietro kept his face calm when his sister and him were referred to as super villains. "The attack on Metropolis is only the beginning."

"You got that right." Robin spoke up as he typed away on his own holographic computer. "Plant creatures have sprouted up in Gotham City, Paris, Star City, Taipei-"

Robin was cut off as the holographic screens cut to static. "Dude!" Wally scolded.

"It's not me! Someone's cutting into the satellite signal. All satellite signals." Robin typed rapidly, trying to fix what was going on. 

The static cut out as the Joker's face filled the screen. The clown knocked on the glass with a creepy grin on his face. "Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your regularly scheduled mayhem to bring you this important announcement." He pulled out a switchblade, turning the camera with his other hand to face a group of villains. "From the Injustice League."

Count Vertigo took over as the Joker laughed. "We are responsible for the attacks on your cities. If you wish to save them, a ransom of ten billion American dollars is required. Delivery instructions have been sent to the United Nations. There is no time limit. But the longer your governments wait..."

The Joker turned the camera back to a close up of his face. "The more we get to have our...jollies." The camera cut out as the Joker laughed. 

Batman held a finger to his ear, chatting with Aquaman. "...but it won't come to that."

Robin rewound the video to identify the villains in the tape. "Count Vertigo, the Joker, Poison Ivy, Ultra-Humanite, Atomic Skull, Black Adam, Wotan. Seven heavy hitters."

And they aren't even who is really behind everything...

"There's your secret society." Pietro pointed out.

"Not so secret anymore."

"Perhaps after India they realized we would deduce the truth and saw no point in hiding any longer." Kaldur mused. 

"Yeah. That was their mistake." Wally held up a fist in enthusiasm. "Right now, I say we go kick some plant creature butt."

"The Justice League will handle the plants. I have a different job for this team." Pietro's eyes widened when he realized what Batman wanted them to do. "With the plants attacking so many locations simultaneously there must be a central control system. Your mission is to destroy it." 

"You realize what you're really asking them to do." Zatara pointed out.

"They're ready."

"Well, Batman, I trust you're correct."

"I trust you can locate the enemy."

Zatara asked Robin to provide the holo-map and he muttered his backwards spell. A red dot appeared in the southern region of the United States. "There. That is where you will find the Injustice League's central control system."

The team ran off to go prepare themselves for the mission to fight the Injustice League. 

Bayou Bartholomew 

October 01, 18:52 CDT

The bioship flew over the bayou in camouflage mode with the team inside. Kid Flash, Aqualad, Miss Martian, and Quicksilver were all in stealth mode, the two speedsters fueling up by eating snacks. Kid Flash asked Aqualad what was in his duffle bag and Aqualad answered that it was his Plan B, right before Miss Martian groaned and grabbed her head. 

"You alright?" Quicksilver asked, knowing exactly what was happening. 

"Dizzy."

"Martians get airsick?"

"She does look a bit greener than usual."

"Not me, her."

"I feel fine!" Artemis was quick to reject the notion that she was anything but in tiptop shape.

"Not her, the bioship. She's trying to shield us, but-" Miss Martian was cut off as the ship rocked as something hit it from below, sending it careening out of the sky and into the swampy waters below. Black Adam ripped a hole in the top of the bioship. "Ugh! He's hurting her."

Superboy hit Black Adam away as water began to fill the ship. 

"No. No way am I nearly drowning three missions in a row." Artemis pulled out a rebreather, putting it in her mouth and handing one to Kid Flash.

 Quicksilver grabbed his own as Miss Martian opened a hatch and the team swam out and to shore as the bioship sank beneath the surface of the water. "She's in shock. She'll need time to recover." 

A sudden wave of vertigo hit the team and they all collapsed to the ground. Kid Flash looked up at the source. "Vertigo."

"Count Vertigo to you, peasant." Count Vertigo spat.

Superboy stood up, charging at Count Vertigo only to be punched by Black Adam. Aqualad used his water bearers to blast Vertigo back, giving the team breathing room.

Robin, Miss Martian. Disappear. We will keep them busy. You two fulfill the mission objective.

Quicksilver ran at Black Adam, ducking under his first fist only to be met in the face by the second one. He went flying backwards into Artemis and Aqualad, knocking them into the water. Before the three of them could stand up they were hit with a concussive force of vertigo, keeping them down until they succumbed to the darkness. 

When the team next woke up, they were in a magical golden cage. Quicksilver looked at Aqualad as the Atlantean tried to use his own magic to break it, but failing. 

"Please, Atlantean, do not pretend you are in my league." Wotan scoffed at Aqualad. 

Quicksilver looked up as the bioship knocked down Wotan, causing him to let go of his magic and the cage to disappear. The team fell, landing in the waters. They looked up at the Injustice League before charging at them, leaping into battle. 

"KF, DNA?" Quicksilver yelled to his fellow speedster, who nodded in return. Kid Flash sped at Count Vertigo only to be slowed down by the concussive blasts and knocked away by Black Adam. The two members of the Injustice League hadn't noticed the second speedster come up from behind, however, so Quicksilver grabbed their heads and knocked them together before helping Kid Flash up.

"Distract and attack, never fails." Kid Flash grinned, right as the central control system exploded. 

Count Vertigo grunted. "Kill them. Kill them all!"

The Injustice League began to attack the teens without mercy, the team beginning to fear for their lives as Wotan struck at them with lightning. Aqualad whispered to Miss Martian that it was time for Plan B and she called the bioship over, opening a hatch and dropping the duffle bag out. Aqualad opened it and slipped the Helmet of Fate on, despite Kid Flash's warnings.

Fate, using Aqualad's body as a host, jumped into battle with Wotan, leaving the rest of the Injustice League to deal with the remaining team members. 

Quicksilver dodged Poison Ivy's plants, watching as his team was being attacked without remorse. He heard gasps and looked over at Count Vertigo and Poison Ivy, eyes bulging as he saw their eyes flash red before they collapsed on the ground. Glancing around, he saw the same thing happen to the Joker, Atomic Skull, Black Adam, and Ultra-Humanite. The majority of the Injustice League just collapsed to the ground, leaving the team standing there to watch Wotan fight with their leader. 

A red mist encased Wotan, restricting his movements as a gag went across his mouth as well. Wotan fell from the sky, landing next Poison Ivy and Count Vertigo.  Red psionic chains appeared, wrapping around the Injustice League.

"What just happened?" Kid Flash asked, his arm in a hastily made sling. 

"We know of only person who has the power to subdue the Injustice League and has red as their signature color." Robin narrowed his eyes.

"Scarlet Witch." Quicksilver breathed out, staring at the restrained and drooling members of the Injustice League.

"But why would she...help us?" Artemis asked.

"Have you heroes never heard of a coup before?" Everyone turned to see Scarlet Witch standing in a tree, hand against the trunk with a smirk on her face. "Get rid of old management to make way for new."

Wands, I thought you said you weren't going to be here?

I wasn't planning on it, but I couldn't stand by and watch my brother get killed.

"Why not wait until after the Injustice League had killed us?" Superboy asked. 

Scarlet Witch chuckled. "I may be many things, but a cold blooded killer, I am not."

"Tell that Dr. Roquette." Kid Flash snorted.

"I left her alive, didn't I?" Scarlet Witch raised a brow, looking up at the sky when the teen heroes looked up past her. 

The Justice League was arriving on various modes of transportation, looking at the scene before them. They looked between the team, the Injustice League, and Doctor Fate as he descended from the sky. Zatara had a perplexed expression. "What has occurred here?"

"What has occurred here is I saved your little pets from death." The Justice League looked to see Scarlet Witch jump down from the tree, landing in the water. She walked closer, not paying mind to the glares she was getting from the team. 

Wanda, you are outgunned and outmanned, you need to leave.

Relax, 'tro. I can handle this. I need to deliver a message. 

"Scarlet Witch. You work for the League of Shadows." Batman stated. 

Scarlet Witch pursed her lips, tapping her chin. "That sounds so...definitive. So...set in stone."

"It's true though. I saw you with Ra's al Ghul." Quicksilver snarled at his sister, playing his part. 

"You did." Scarlet Witch didn't deny it. "I was with Ra's al Ghul, but does that mean I am working for him? None of you know the truth."

"And that would be?" Robin asked, stepping closer to the teen.

"There are more gray areas than you know in this game." She grinned, her eyes turning red as a haze began to surround her. "A lot more gray than black and white." Scarlet Witch snapped her fingers and the haze swirled around her, exploding outward before imploding in on her. When the haze disappeared, Scarlet Witch was gone. 

The team looked at the Justice League as the Green Lanterns secured the Injustice League. Kid Flash turned to glare at Miss Martian. "What were thinking, letting him put on the Helmet? Nabu will never release him now. Kaldur will trapped inside Dr. Fate forever." Aqualad lifted the Helmet off his head. "Nabu let you go?"

"He almost did not. Your friend Kent was most helpful. He says hello." Aqualad smiled at Kid Flash, his face falling when he sensed the tension in the air. "What is wrong? Did we  not succeed?"

"We did...with help?" Miss Martian supplied, continuing when Aqualad looked at her. "It was from Scarlet Witch."

"We're done here." Batman stepped in. "The super villain secret society has been neutralized. As for your performance...it was satisfactory."

Unknown Location

"Impressive. The plant creatures have proven their usefulness as potential weapons. More importantly the so-called heroes now believe our secret society has been revealed and crushed. With the Injustice League serving as our proxies we are once again free to operate with impunity." Vandal Savage looked over the other members of the Light. Queen Bee, Ocean Master, Ra's al Ghul, The Brain, Klarion the Witch Boy, and Lex Luthor smirked at him.  "And shadows still conceal our light."

"Then it is a good thing we have our secret weapons to outshine the shadows that plague us." Queen Bee looked at the screen that showed Scarlet Witch sitting in her room, a picture in her hand. 

"The question is, can we trust them to carry out their duties?" Lex mused.

"We've got that covered, Luthor. With the training Scarlet Witch has received from Klarion, she feels even more indebted to us. She will fulfill her deal." 

"And her twin?" 

"I believe the girl will keep her brother in line. And if not, well, it is good we have a backup in place."
