______________
JUNGWON jogged to catch up with Eunhee, who stood at the front of the school, her hands pressed tightly together in a failed attempt to warm them up.
Letting out a chuckle, the boy appeared in front of her, startling her slightly. "Where's your coat?" He questioned, raising a brow.
"It wasn't cold this morning so I didn't bring one.. I didn't expect it to get so cold later on." She mumbled, goosebumps spreading throughout her body.
Without a single word, Jungwon unzipped his coat, taking it off and extending it out to her.
"Here, wear this." He said, as she was quick to shake her head.
"Jungwon.. that's really sweet, but I can't take it. Then you'll be cold." She frowned, gently pushing his hand away.
Rolling his eyes, he extended it out in front of her again. "Don't be so stubborn. I'll be fine, I have a sweatshirt and a t-shirt on underneath. You need it more than I do."
Letting out a small sigh, she reluctantly took the coat into her hands, slipping her arms into the sleeves and zipping it up.
Jungwon could only laugh at her figure, "woah, you look so small now.." he pointed out, as Eunhee scoffed and scrunched her nose up, smacking his arm with her sweater paw.
"No I don't." She shot back, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Yeah, sure.." the boy rolled his eyes playfully before adding on, "do you feel warmer now?"
Eunhee nodded her head quickly as they began to walk in the direction of both the café and her apartment.
"Yes. Thank you." She smiled softly, practically melting into the warmth of the coat as she hugged it tighter to her body.
Jungwon hummed in response, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his joggers. "You're welcome."
"I asked this to you earlier, but I never got a response.. are you going to prom?" He asked, as the girl furrowed her brows in confusion.
"Wait, you asked me earlier? When?"
"When you, me and Ni-Ki were walking together. You kinda zoned out, so I don't think you heard me." He retorted.
Eunhee pressed her lips together in a thin line, "ahh, sorry about that, by the way."
"No, it's fine." Jungwon quickly shook his head, sending her a reassuring smile.
"Also, to answer your question, I'm not really sure yet. I mean, I don't exactly have a date.. but, then again it is my only opportunity to go to prom." She shrugged, bringing her hand up to fix her bangs.
"You should go! Like you said, it's your only opportunity. You should go so you don't regret not going in the future. Plus, me and all of your other friends will be there with you." Jungwon explained.
"Mm.. good point.." she nodded her head, before letting out a small sigh and stretching her arms above her head.
"Oh well, I still have a whole week to decide. So, I won't worry about anything right now."
Jungwon nodded his head in understanding, hesitantly opening his mouth to speak, "..by the way, what was the real reason you zoned out earlier? It couldn't have just been from exhaustion, you were lost in thought.."
Eunhee raised her brows at the sudden question, letting a small smile rest on her lips.
"Oh.. it was just some parental issues, I guess.. nothing to worry about." She spoke, as Jungwon hummed.
Whilst he knew there was more to the story, the last thing he wanted to do was invade her personal life. In all reality, it was never any of his business, and she quite frankly didn't even have to tell him what she did at all.
"Alright. Well, I hope you know that I'm always here to talk if you need to." Jungwon reminded the girl, earning a soft smile and a nod in understanding.
"Okay. Thank you, Jungwon."
"Of course! Also, I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda nervous for our finals." He admitted, changing the subject. Eunhee quickly hummed in agreement.
"Really? Me too! I mean, I've been studying and stuff, but I'm still worried. I feel like my mind is just gonna go completely blank for the exam. I really don't wanna fail." She sighed out.
"You've got nothing to worry about. You'll do great." Jungwon nudged the girl softly, as she laughed and nudged him back.
"Same thing goes for you, Yang Jungwon. You're literally like one of the smartest people I know." She scoffed, shaking her head.
"Okay, I wouldn't go that far. I'm really not that smart, I'm just smart enough to get a passing grade. That's all. You, on the other hand, are literally getting graded like a hundred percent on everything." Jungwon shot back.
"Don't act like you haven't gotten graded a hundred before too." She rolled her eyes playfully, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Well, yeah.. but I don't get them every single time!" The boy quickly defended himself. The girl snickered lightly, shaking her head with a scrunched up nose.
After a little while, they approached the café, frowns on both of their lips as neither one of them was ready to say goodbye just yet. However, they had no choice but to as Eunhee had to get home before her friends showed up, and Jungwon was going to study more for upcoming finals.
Eunhee went to unzip his coat that she wore, about to give it back to him when a hand was placed on top of hers. Looking up, she saw the boy shaking his head.
"Keep it, it's fine. You still have to walk home, and it's cold. I plan on taking the bus home, so I won't even be outside. So, just keep it." He explained.
"Jungwon, I can't--"
"Really, just keep it. I'm fine without it. If you care that much, you can just bring it whenever we next see each other." Jungwon reassured the girl, who slowly nodded her head.
"Okay.. thank you." She mumbled, a small smile at her lips as she fiddled around.
Jungwon nodded his head, acknowledging her words. "Mhm.. anyways, bye, Eunhee. I'll see you around, okay?" He tilted his head, as Eunhee hummed.
"Bye, Jungwon." She retorted, sending him a small smile. She spun around on her heels, beginning to walk away when she suddenly paused, turning back around.
"Jungwon." She called out, as the boy hummed in confusion, averting his attention back to her.
Without a word, she walked up to him, throwing her arms around his taller frame and hugging him tightly. "Thank you again. For everything." She muttered.
Jungwon smiled brightly, cheeks flushing a dusty pink as he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, hugging her back.
"Of course, Eun."
The sound of her nickname escaping past his lips so smoothly made her smile even more if possible, as she pulled away from the hug.
"Oh, before I forget.. do you think I could maybe get your number? Only if you're comfortable with it, tho. You don't have to if you don't want-"
"Yes, you can have my number. I don't see any reason as to why you couldn't." Eunhee quickly cut the boy off.
Jungwon paused, processing her words before acting quickly, unlocking his phone so she could put her number in, as she did the same with her phone.
