If you're looking for a way to get closer to God try thanking Him for everything. When you wake up in the morning thank Him for your bed and a shelter and all your other blessings. As you go throughout your day just thank God for the smallest things you don't typically notice. It will fill you with joy, thankfulness and help you keep your mind on God. Thankfulness is easy to forget because of all the bad things going on in the world, sometimes it seems like there's no end to sadness and suffering, but if you look around there a millions of things to be thankful for. Things that you probably take for granted. The world is full of good things too, we just want everything to be good so we see the bad and get upset. Yes many awful things are happening in this world but we can still thank God for all of the blessings in our lives. All of you are reading this on some sort of device so that's something to be thankful for, you're all alive, and you're all lived more than you can imagine by God.
