Obsession is dangerous. I'm not just talking about drugs and alcohol but with everything in your life. It doesn't need to be something that's bad for you just something that takes up too much of your time. You can be obsessed with anything in your life, books, social media, Wattpad, sports, TV, a celebrity, a person in your life, this list is endless. Spending too much time on anything isn't good for you no matter how good the thing can be for you in moderation. These things keep you away from God. They take up more and more of your time until they become the focus of your mind. They are your idol and you are worshiping them. Those things don't provide eternal life for you, they don't fill the whole in your heart they just distract you so the whole isn't as prominent for awhile. God is the only one who does those things and the only one who deserves your worship. That's why one of the Ten Commandments is don't worship idols, there is only one God and it isn't Netflix. Try to devote most of your attention to God and see how it changes how your day goes.
