It's so important to spend time with God away from everything else. It doesn't count if you're texting someone or listening to music while you talk to Him. That's not a bad things it's great to be with God when you're doing things throughout your day but you do need additional time in quiet to spend with Him. When you're doing something else you're attention gets pulled away from God, you can't go as in depth with Him, and you can't listen to what He is trying to tell you. You can hear God's voice when you read the Bible and sometimes you can hear His voice through other people. When you get a feeling inside of you that tells you what the right hung to do is that is also God's voice speaking inside of you. Some people are very good a distinguishing God's voice from other voices other struggle. I struggle a lot of the time trying to know if it's me talking to myself or if it's actually what God wants me to do, if that's you then I recommend praying more about it and reading the Bible to see if it lines up with everything He said.
