We all have someone we need to forgive. Someone who has hurt you, really hurt you, and they still impact your life. Either because you're still angry at them, the choices still affect the way you live your life, or both. Letting what happened in the past control how you act right now is giving the bad things more control over you. When you forgive someone you aren't letting them off the hook for what they did, God will deal with the consequences for our actions when we get to Heaven. Forgiving them lifts a burden off of yourself so that you no longer have to carry around all that pain. It doesn't matter how bad they hurt you, how deep the scars are that they left, they can be forgiven and you can forgive them with God. God has forgiven all of us for our sins when we continually sin against Him and so we should forgive others. Yes you should have healthy boundaries to keep yourself from getting hurt again but that doesn't mean don't forgive them it means to be careful how much you trust that person or completely taking them out of your life depending on what they did. Forgiveness is never easy especially when they person you're trying to forgive left a scar on you that will affect you a lot of your life.
